Chater 25
Chapter 25 Barbeque
"Let's go. It's time to eat," Theo said.
Sierra noticed a subtle change in Theo's mood but couldn't pinpoint what felt off. Still, she followed him quietly as they walked.
She didn't expect him to bring her to a barbeque restaurant. And not just any barbeque place, but the one she frequented during her school days.
Her eyes brightened, and she stole a glance at Theo walking ahead of her. Even his profile was striking.
She had always thought that someone as refined and distant as Theo would prefer upscale restaurants, not a casual, down-to-earth setting like this. It just didn't seem like his style.
At that moment, Theo turned his head and caught her gaze.
Sierra hadn't expected him to look back so suddenly, and she panicked. Her eyes darted away as her heart began to race.
"What are you looking at?" Theo's voice was deep and steady as he stopped in his tracks.
"N... nothing," she stammered, trying to compose herself. "I just didn't expect you to like barbeque."
"Mm. Do you like it?”
Sierra instinctively nodded. "I do."
A faint smile crossed his lips, amusement flickering in his dark eyes. "Good. As long as you like it.”
Her face flushed, and she wasn't sure if it was the warmth of the barbeque restaurant or something else. “Excuse me. Please move aside. Be careful not to stain your clothes,” a waiter called out as he approached with a plate.
Just as Sierra was about to step back, a hand gently pulled her closer. The scent of wood seemed to envelop her, and strangely, it made her feel incredibly
secure.
"Let's go to the private room." Theo's calm voice guided her.
She quickly followed him after snapping her out of her daze. When the barbeque ingredients arrived, Sierra's eyes lit up again.
What a coincidence! These were the exact dishes she always ordered when she came here.
However, she had never shared a barbeque meal with Theo before-every other meal they had shared had been at the Gray Manor.
"Uncle Theo, are these dishes what you like to eat?" she asked curiously.noveldrama
"Mm."
"That's such a coincidence! We both like the same dishes."
Theo's gaze softened as a smile flickered on his lips. "Mm, it is quite a coincidence."
Adrian, who had just finished setting down the freshly disinfected utensils, overheard their conversation. He stifled a laugh and turned away to clear his throat.
Coincidence? It was obviously planned. Sierra was too naive to see through it. Why couldn't Theo just be straightforward instead of all these indirect methods?
Theo's expression immediately darkened after noticing Adrian's reaction.
"Adrian, are you alright?" Sierra asked.
Adrian turned around, and upon seeing Theo's frosty expression, he quickly replied, “I'm fine, I'm fine. I just got choked by the spiciness of the barbeque. Please enjoy your with Mr. Gray. I'll wait outside."
Then, he rushed off, carefully closing the door behind him. Sierra was left a little puzzled.
"Uncle Theo, since we've ordered so much food, let's invite Adrian to join us."
“No need. He can't handle spicy food. He'll take care of it himself,” Theo replied indifferently before placing some freshly cooked beef into her bowl. Sierra was surprised by his action. “Uncle Theo, I'll do it myself. You eat, it's fine."
“Mm,” he murmured but continued placing food in her bowl.
Sierra felt completely stuffed after the meal, barely able to move, but it was so satisfying.
What do you think?
