Chapter 273
Lysander, Elara, and Jojo stayed at the Hawthorne residence for few days. Wyatt's health seemed to have improved. After receiving Yessenia's journal, he was reassured that she had once cared for him, which seemed to lift his spirits. The family of three had dinner with Wyatt before preparing to leave. Wyatt also had to attend to some work matters. Just as they were about to head out, Felicity returned home.
Felicity has been busy with work these past few years. Because of the situation with Aubrey, everyone had unresolved feelings, and as a result, the relationship between Elara and Felicity had become more distant.
Although everything was unrelated to Felicity, he was still her son. Now, seeing, Elara, Felicity took the initiative to greet her.
"Elara."
"Felicity," Elara replied.
Felicity walked over and looked at JoJo standing beside Elara. He was growing up well, looking just like Lysander. "It's been a while since I've seen JoJo," Felicity said. "You've grown so much!"
Elara glanced down at Jojo, a small smile tugging at her lips. Looking up at Felicity, she said, "Kids grow so fast, it feels like they're changing daily."
Felicity looked at Elara and said, "Our movie was recently released. I've saved a ticket for you-make sure you go
Elara nodded and said, "Okay."

After selling the rights to her novel, Elara had primarily stepped back from managing it. However, Felicity took a keen interest in this field and successfully managed the novel's rights over the years. Naturally, the book industry thrived during this period as well. Felicity's interest wasn't solely in Elara's work; she had also acquired rights to other pieces. Now, her film and television company was doing quite well.
Elara accepted the movie tickets, and then Felicity asked, "How is Wyatt doing?"
A few days ago, Felicity had heard that he was very ill and had taken time off to come back and check on Wyatt. Elara replied, "He seems to be doing quite well now."
Felicity said, "I'll go check on him."
"Then we'll head back!" Elara replied.
After saying goodbye to Felicity, Elara left with JoJo. He climbed into the back seat on his own. Elara watched him and then sat down beside him. A little while later, Lysander arrived. He got into the car, noticing Elara and JoJo sitting in the back. Lysander furrowed his brow. "What are you doing?"
"If you hadn't come, I was just chatting with JoJo," Elara replied.
"Come to the front! I need to talk to you. How can I talk to you when you're sitting at the back?" Lysander said.
JoJo was speechless. Elara moved to the front, fastened her seatbelt, and looked at Lysander. "Is this better now?"
Lysander nodded in response. As the car left the Hawthorne family, Elara turned to Lysander and asked, "Didn't you say you had something to talk to me about?"
<
Lysander replied, "I was about to say something, but now I've forgotten"
Elara knew this was one of Lysander's quirks-he liked to be jealous of Jojo. Thankfully, Jojo had already fallen asleep in the back seat. Elara turned to Lysander and said, "By the way, Fecility gave me some movie tickets today. I'm planning to take my friends to watch it later."
Lysander raised an eyebrow, his voice carrying a hint of discontent. "You're not taking, me along?"
Elara smiled softly, glancing at Lysander. "Aren't you busy? I'll take Jojo along, instead" "Well..." Lysander smirked.
Elara rolled her eyes at him. "What are you smirking about?"
Lysander's expression darkened. "You don't love me anymore! Now, all you care about is our son."
"Alright, alright! It's not that I don't love you," Elara said. "You're always so busy with work, and I thought you'd never want to do something as boring as watching a movie. So, I decided to bring someone else along instead."
"Who says I wouldn't want to?" Lysander replied. "As long as I have the time, I'll accompany you no matter what you want to do."
"Then I'll take you with me when the time comes!" Elara said.
On the way, while Lysander was driving, Elara sent messages to her friends. There were free movie tickets available, which they weren't particularly concerned about, but since Elara's work was being released, they wanted to show their support. Natalie and Crispin received the tickets.
In the WhatsApp group, Crispin replied: [Elara, I'd like to get an extra ticket. I'm bringing my girlfriend along.]
Elara replied: [Where did you get a girlfriend from?]
Crispin: [What do you mean by that, Elara?]
Elara: [Alright, I'll save an extra ticket for you.]
After distributing the tickets, Elara returned home and took a shower. Lysander approached behind her as she finished, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Today is the day, you know," he said with a hint of mischief. "Not today," Elara said.
Lysander looked at her, his gaze curious. "Why?" he asked, his tone soft but filled with a hint of expectation.
Elara looked at Lysander and said softly, "I'm pregnant."
Lysander looked at Elara and asked, "Are you joking?"
Elara said, "Why would I joke? I had a check-up yesterday and got it confirmed."
"You're pregnant, for real?" Lysander asked again.
Elara said, "Yes! Our family will be a family of four from now on Didn't you always want a daughter?"
"Who said that?" Lysander's expression darkened as soon as he heard what Elara said. "I don't want a daughter!" he said; he had wanted a daughter but ended up with a son.
Since JoJo learned to speak, he had been constantly testing his patience. Just like now, a knock came from the door. "Mommy, can I come in?"
Chapter 273-
Lysander was left speechless, Elara said, "Our son is here. I'll go open the door."
"I'll go. There's no need for you to do anything. Just rest," Lysander said, not giving them a chance to meet. He went to open the door instead.
JoJo didn't see Elara before Lysander whisked him back to his room and made him go to bed. When he returned, Elara was still chatting with Natalie. He climbed into bed and pulled her into his arms. Elara asked, "How is JoJo?",
"He's asleep," Lysander said. "He insisted on finding you, so I had to use some fatherly love to get him to bed."
"Fatherly love?" Elara asked, looking at Lysander with curiosity. "You didn't hit him, did you?"
Lysander was speechless. He responded to Elara's remark, "Do I look like someone who'd be unreasonable?"
"I saw you were gone for quite a while," Elara said.
Lysander said, "I told him a story, but he thought it was too childish!"
As Lysander spoke, it was clear that he was feeling a bit frustrated. Everything went smoothly in his work, but when it came to his son, he seemed to face constant setbacks, which made him feel uncomfortable.
Elara looked at him and said, "Alright, let's go to sleep. Sometimes, he does it to annoy you. I saw him getting along quite well with your father at your place yesterday."
Lysander said, "I don't know where he learned that from."
Elara said, "That's because you're never around him. Do you think he doesn't have any thoughts on that?".Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
When it came to this matter, Lysander looked regretful. From the moment JoJo was born, he hadn't been around much. As JoJo grew up, those were the busiest years of his career.
Now, things had slowed down a bit, but his relationship with him still wasn't as smooth as he had hoped. It was probably the inevitable frustration of raising a child.
Even though Lysander was smooth and successful in his work, when he came home, he couldn't help but feel frustrated when dealing with his son. Seeing his troubled expression, Elara couldn't help but worry that he might be upset over the situation with JoJo. When Elara woke up the following day, she found Lysander already up. She left the room and saw him in the next-door nursery, going through the items he had once bought for their daughter.
After having JoJo, he had put away all the items he had bought for a daughter since they didn't have one. Despite saying the night before that he didn't want a daughter, now he was quietly hoping for one.
"What are you doing?" Elara asked as she walked in.
Lysander glanced at her, quickly wiping the smile off his face and adopting a serious expression. "I was just looking around, wondering whether I should throw all this stuff away. After all, it's not like we'll be using it."
"Are you sure you want to get rid of all this?" Elara looked at him, clearly amused. She couldn't help but shake her head. While she understood that he was trying to manage his expectations, fearing he might be disappointed, wondering if he was going to be this over-the- top about it.
Elara walked up to him and hugged him. "Alright, stop overthinking! I have a feeling it's going to be a daughter."
"Why do you think that?" Lysander didn't believe her.
Chapter 273-
"Just a feeling," Elara replied
Even though she said it confidently, Lysander still couldn't let himself get too hopeful in the following months. He refrained from mentioning a daughter until the very moment of her birth Only then did reality set in.
Lysander, who never used to post on social media, started flooding his Instagram with posts every day. Starfield City soon knew that the Hawthorne family had gained a daughter. Lysander was utterly smitten, carrying his daughter everywhere he went, unable to get enough of her.
On the day of the baby's first-month celebration, Crispin and Juan visited. Juan had already been able to stand up. The last time they visited was when they came to watch a movie with Crispin.
Crispin's family had been pressuring him to get married for a long time, but he had never settled down. Unexpectedly, he ended up with Juan instead.
Meanwhile, Lysander was outside, proudly showing his daughter, Nivy, to his friends. Juan was in the room, keeping company with Elara.
Elara asked her, "When are you and Crispin planning to get married?"
"We've already had our marriage license," Juan replied.
"That fast? You didn't even tell me." Elara was surprised.
"I wanted to tell you in person," Juan told Elara. "I never believed in love before. But seeing you and Lysander, I suddenly started to hope. Maybe I want to take a chance this time."
After her injury, Crispin took care of her. Over the years, no matter what happened, they had developed feelings for each other. He had brought it up before when she was still unable to stand. But since she hadn't agreed, he never mentioned it again. Despite everything, he still made time to visit her whenever he could. Once her leg healed, he was happier than anyone else. Crispin had remained single all this time, and eventually, they ended up together.
Elara said, "Congratulations!"
While they were talking, JoJo walked in, sat next to Elara, and leaned against her. "Mommy," he said. Elara gently patted his head.
Lysander was still outside. Crispin said, "Lysander, can I hold Nivy for a moment?"
Nivy was born on the ninth day of the month, so they named her after that. Before her birth, Lysander had only considered names for a boy. When they finally had a daughter, he was unexpectedly surprised and delighted. When Lysander saw Crispin wanting to hold Nivy, he gave him a disdainful look and said, "You go ahead and have your own!"
"Lysander, let me hold her, please! Love you!" Crispin begged.
Lysander felt disgusted. He glanced disdainfully at Crispin and quickly motioned for the nanny to take Nivy away. Not just anyone could hold his daughter.
