I WANT YOU ON MY DESK
TINA’S POV
“Nicole, oh my gosh, this is New York!” I exclaimed.
The city was splendid. It was on the outskirts of Mexico.
Of course, it took us an hour or so to get here without traffic.
Oh my goodness, it’s been a year since I came here, and everything here has changed so much.
We were standing in front of McSorley’s Old Ale House, one of the popular bars in New York. I knew this would happen that day when Nicole told me we should go out to get some fresh air.
This wasn’t our class; we actually didn’t belong here, but right now I have no say in it, and I loved it.
“Oh my gosh, this air is worth it,” I exclaimed immediately. I felt the air drive its way into my sweat pores and give me lots of goosebumps.
“Nicole,” I called her as I checked my sides but couldn’t find her.
I got my way through the bouncers; thank goodness I didn’t dress awkwardly.
“At least I didn’t dress like a commoner,” I said to myself.
Finally, I found Nicole at the counter; she was talking to the butler.
“Hey Nicole, you left me out there.”
“Tina I’m so sorry; I have a lot on me, but I thought you were right behind me.” Nicole apologized
“Excuse me, ma’am, what’s your order?” The butler asked
“Three bottles of vodka fizz,” Nicole replied to the butler.
“Okay, ma’am,” he said as he left to get the wine.
“Nicole, three bottles of vodka fizz-that’s a hell of a lot of money!” I exclaimed at Nicole’s order, but anyway, if Nicole made that order, she was sure going to make the payment.
“Please, when the butler comes, tell him to add a bottle of barley,” I requested.
“Sure,” Nicole answered.
The butler dropped the wines and two glass cups on the counter for us.
“Excuse me, get us a bottle of barley,” Nicole says.
“Tina, are you sure about the Long Island iced tea?”
“You haven’t drank that since I know you,” Nicole inquired.
“There’s always tomorrow to try,” I said to her.
“As long as you don’t get drunk,” Nicole stated.
“Ma’am, your order,” the butler said as he dropped the bottle on the counter.
“Tina, did you already apply for any job after the last one?” Nicole asked as she poured the vodka into her glass cup and drank it.
“Yeah, I did.”
“I’m expecting an email; I just hope so since I’m not certain.” I also poured some vodka in my glass and sipped it.
” Okay, that’s good ” Nicole replied
“Wow, this doesn’t taste bad,” I said, and I poured the barley into my glass cup.
“Tina, are you sure about what you are doing?”
“Mixing these two isn’t going to come out well; your hangover will last for two to three days,” Nicole said to me as she watched me mix the two wines in my glass cup.
“Don’t worry, I will be fine,” I said as I sipped a little. It tasted good, and I continued mixing the wines.
” Tina? ”
“Yes, Nicole, I’m all ears,” I answered.
“I got a promotion today,” Nicole said as she continued drinking the contents of her glass cup.
” wow congratulat….. ”
“A fake promotion,” Nicole said as tears fell from her eyes.
” What???? ”
“Mr. Gilbert asked me to sleep with him to be the CEO of Jordan’s Cosmetic Industry. Please excuse me.” Nicole couldn’t finish her sentence when she ran out with a bottle of vodka in her hand. I think she went to throw up.
I couldn’t believe what she was telling me, so I tried getting up to follow her, but I wasn’t feeling my feet and I was feeling so dizzy that I staggered back and fell on my chair.
I stared at the counter, only to find out that I had already finished a bottle of vodka fizz and the full bottle of long island iced tea.
“Oh my God, was this the effect?” I asked myself as my phone beeped.
” What!?”This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
“An interview is tomorrow.” But it wasn’t sounding good to my ears, and now I was terribly drunk.
I should have been happy, but I wasn’t. Why?
I suddenly felt like throwing up as I forcefully got up from my seat and bumped onto a hard surface.
“Oh my gosh, not now,” I said to myself and looked up. What I saw was unexplainable.
I just found out that what I bumped into wasn’t the wall but a perfectly chiseled chest.
My eyes met a pair of golden eyes and broad shoulders. He was tall, and his overly tempting red lips I haven’t seen a man with so much red on his lips in my life, but this was it.
His thick raven brown hair which was packed backwards, I could tell it was shoulder length.
He was wearing a blue suit; his appearance seemed to attract everyone in the bar, and all eyes were on him-and probably on me because I bumped into him except from Nicole, whom I haven’t seen since she ran out from the counter.
I was sure his status was high.
I was certain that I saw a man with him when I bumped into him, but he was nowhere to be found. But this man I was standing in front of had totally captivated my sight; his appearance spoke highly of him.
This man was an immortal god of beauty, and he was emitting this powerful aura that could put the whole world at a standstill. He was the complete definition of what was called charming.
Here I was lost in this young man’s appearance, and I totally forgot. All of a sudden, that urge to throw up showed up again, and I let it out on the young man’s suit.
“Oh, my gosh,” a young woman in her early thirties gasped.
“How could that happen?” I heard another woman saying this.
“That suit can buy her whole family; what a careless girl!” a man said to his wife.
“Oh, what a poor child,” the butler said.
“Her day must have been cursed,” an elderly man said.
I would say I got my senses of sight that moment; I couldn’t believe the mess I put myself in.
And where the hell was Nichole?
Why must this happen today?
“Are you blind?” Did you lose your sight somewhere? Someone asked, probably the manager of the bar.
“First you bumped into me, and now you had the audacity to throw up on me,” the young man said in a calm voice, but his voice roared and echoed inside the bar.
“I am so sorry, sir. “I can take care of this, I promise.” I apologized as I tried to use my napkin to clean the suit, but I knew it was going to be worse.
When I tried to clean it up, the man threw my hands out of his clothes, and then he said
“YOU WILL PAY DEARLY FOR THIS.”
