Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 143

After being hospitalized for treatment, Amelia never expected to find herself sharing a ward with Heidi.

Heidi was equally surprised. "What are you doing here?"

Public hospitals rarely provided private rooms unless special circumstances called for them. This place was always packed, and even the VIP floor was fully booked. As a result, the two were unexpectedly assigned to the same ward.

It was an orthopedic ward.noveldrama

Did Amelia suffer a fracture?

Heidi's eyes swept around the ward before finally settling on the cast on Amelia's ankle.

Amelia was already feeling on edge. Catching the slight mockery in Heidi's gaze, she shot back, "What are you staring at?"

"I'll look if I want to. What's it to you?"

Amelia had always been jealous of Heidi's interactions with Simon, and being looked down upon now only made her angrier.

Recalling that Simon had once mentioned Heidi's feelings for Edward, she decided to twist the knife. "If you're so tough, why don't you take on Janice instead of mocking me? While you're stuck in here, Mr. Moore is out on a late- night date with her!"

"Shut up!" Heidi snapped, seeing Amelia as nothing more than a pathetic fool.

She had already heard about what happened tonight, especially since she had connections within the Moore family.

"Honestly, you're unbelievably stupid for provoking Mr. Robert. You totally deserved that beating!"

"And do you really think you're so superior? Even after revealing you're Shirley, Edward still doesn't favor you. Now that's the real tragedy, isn't it?" Amelia fired back, refusing to back down.

"You" Unlike Amelia, Heidi knew how to keep her composure. Her anger quickly melted away, replaced by a knowing smile. "Amelia, there's no need to start trouble with me. After all, we have a common enemy, don't we?"

Amelia was stunned. "What are you getting at?"

"Let's team up. I don't believe Janice can handle both of us at the same time!"

"That's easy for you to say. She has Edward looking out for her, and Simon's already having second thoughts. How are we supposed to handle her?" Amelia yelled.

Heidi gritted her teeth. "We don't have to act yet. Let her enjoy her last peaceful New Year's. After that, we'll make our move."

She already had a plan in mind.

Amelia sneered, "And why would I trust you?"

"Look at yourself. Do you really think anyone else would be willing to help you now?" Heidi taunted.

"Help me? I have nothing left. What could you possibly do for me?"

"Simon hit you didn't he?" Heidi asked, her voice coaxing. "After everything he's done, don't you want to flip the script? Imagine seeing him beg for your forgiveness and them living a comfortable life as Mrs. Fitzgerald. Doesn't that sound sweet?"

The words struck deep. Amelia was consumed by rage. Simon had the nerve to tear down her dignity with his cruel words. She would make them all pay-the Fitzgerald family, Janice, and even Edward.

"I'll be out of the hospital soon," Heidi said. "Once I am, you can stay with me, and

we'll figure out our next move."

Heidi gave her a fleeting glance, her

true motives carefully masked behind a composed expression. In reality, she had no need for Amelia.

She was merely setting up a pawn.

A worthless woman afflicted with a filthy disease dared to hope for an easy way

out-how laughable.

The days leading up to New Year's soon arrived.

Janice went downstairs and climbed into the Bentley, only to notice that the driver

was someone she didn't recognize.

Had Edward changed drivers?

Just then, Edward said, "My parents will be coming over today as well. Is that alright with you?"

Was she expected to cook for his parents?

It wasn't that she minded, but she felt a bit anxious. What if the food didn't turn out well and she ended up embarrassing herself?

Edward gently tapped the back of her hand, his gaze calm and reassuring. "I'll help you. There's no need to worry."

Was the chairman of Prosper Stitch Group really offering to help her cook?

Janice had been distracted the night before. His protective actions felt a bit over the top, almost crossing a boundary.

"Edward."

"Yes?"

After a moment's hesitation, Janice gathered her courage and asked, "Do you have feelings for me?"

Edward, who had been casually scrolling through his phone, abruptly froze, his thumb pausing in mid-air.
