Chapter 25
This time, Janice exhaled softly. Getting selected was enough. Having just joined Prosper Stitch Group, she needed to secure a striking victory to establish her place in the company.
Simon's betrayal had taught her a lesson. What she truly possessed was all that mattered. Everything else was just an illusion.
The senior managers seated in the back rows stared at the screen with wide eyes. The color combinations, the glimmering surface design, the sheer intricacy of the piece-it was undoubtedly a masterpiece.
Sophie stared at the crochet design in disbelief. Could this really be the work of the newly appointed Janice? It didn't make sense. The quality of this piece was worlds apart from her previous creations,
The stark difference gnawed at Sophie's mind, planting a seed of doubt. Could the company have purchased a crochet design for Janice to submit, all for the sake of preserving their reputation?
Janice murmured to herself, “Getting selected is enough.”
Edward, seated beside her, caught the faint words and spoke with calm conviction. "You should trust yourself. And if all else fails..."
“Trust my judgment,” he added. That quiet confidence, barely veiled, radiated from him like a sharp blade.

Janice couldn't help but be awestruck. Edward always exuded an air of stability, as though no crisis in the world could ruffle him. This was the demeanor of someone born into a life of privilege and control.
Her lashes trembled as she exhaled and pressed her lips together. “Thank you for your trust, Mr. Moore.” Edward's personality didn't match his looks at all. His cold exterior belied a depth and sensitivity that caught her off guard.
Meanwhile, discussions buzzed on the other side of the room. The team from Melody & Loops Creations couldn't take their eyes off the screen, whispering among themselves.
And they weren't the only ones. Representatives from other companies were also murmuring, speculating about the identity of the company behind the fifth piece. Just from appearances alone, this double-sided crochet creation outshone the others by a mile.
Outside, the audience had already begun voting.
Simon, however, was certain that Refined Threads Co.'s submission would secure a top-three spot.
Janice's above-average crochet skills, in his mind, were no match for Refined Threads Co.'s polished submission. Once the results were announced, everyone would see that Janice had no real talent. They'd realize she had fooled Prosper Stitch Group with her mediocre skills.
When the truth came out, people would see Janice for what she truly was: a shallow woman who cared only for money. And naturally, everyone would pin the blame for recent events squarely on her.
By then, the world would reject her, and she'd have no choice but to come crawling back to him, begging for a way out.
Simon's arms folded across his chest, his confidence practically tangible. Now, all they had to do was wait for the results.
Janice, having shaken off her initial nervousness, noticed one of the displayed crochet pieces. She was shocked that Simon had bought and submitted one of her discarded works.
Edward noticed her sharp intake of breath. He turned slightly and asked, “Are you feeling unwell?noveldrama
Janice looked at him, her eyes deep with unspoken emotion. She leaned in slightly, her voice a low whisper. "Mr. Moore,"
He tilted his head, his gaze steady, his voice deep and commanding. “Yes?”
Janice asked carefully, “If I end up publicly humiliating Refined Threads Co., will you fire me?"
Although Edward had previously said she could deal with Refined Threads Co, however she liked, she didn't want to cause unnecessary trouble for Prosper Stitch Group. But now Janice had asked for permission to humiliate Refined Threads Co..
Without another word, he stood and walked out to the hallway. Janice hesitated for a moment before following him.
In the corridor, Edward leaned against the wall, pulling out a cigarette. A moment later, a curl of smoke escaped his lips and mingled
with the air.
He stood a head taller than Janice, his stern expression making him look like a man who had stepped out of the underworld. His dark eyes locked onto hers with unyielding intensity.
He said, “If you don't put enough weight behind it and make it unforgettable, then you can consider yourself fired."
To Janice, his words were crystal clear. He was saying: go for it!
What do you think?
