Call me Alpha

Chapter 50: Time Apart

Chapter 50: Time Apart

Chapter 50: Time Apart

Aiden’s POV

I can feel the process of losing my shit every fucking minute.

My wolf howls and cries inside me and I kept controlling my mind in order to stop joining him. Though

I’m dying. Inside, I’m burning with a heat that is not from a haze but with immediate immobilization and

death.

‘Get my mate baaack!!!’

‘Shut up! Shut the fuck up!’

‘I’ll kill that old man, I’ll kill anyone who’ll get in our way. Get her back!’

We could. That’s possible. I’m not scared of dying, I never was. I want her back, I need to save her. I

got to save Ashira.

I ran my fingers through my hair. I’ve been in our bedroom, waiting, thinking, what am I doing here? I

should save her.

‘Let’s go now.’

Yeah, yeah, you’re right. I need to move now. I’ll attack him and kill him. That’s easy. I can win over

Elon, I’m stronger.

NO!

‘LISTEN TO ME!’

‘NO!’

This is not a joke. Yes, I could attack with my pack but I’m risking a lot of lives against the enemy. And if

I was killed, there’s no hope on saving Ashira, at all.

No, Elon won’t kill her. He’ll want her alive or else he holds nothing against me. I can still fell our bond

though I couldn’t reach her.

She’s alive. And that is what matters.

‘What if he’s hurting her?!’ my wolf is getting angry, more as hours passes. But who doesn’t? I am too. I

do, too. But I need to think, calm and clear my head.

For now, I need to trust Ashira. Our connection is beyond the mate bond, she won’t be stolen as quick

as Elon would want to.

“Where’s Jacob?” I asked Nick as I look at the screen where the two Alpha looked back to me with

hardened expression.

“He got business to attend but he’s nearby. He already know and agreed alliance with us. He’ll be here

at dawn and he called to his pack, Shadow pack’s army will arrive tomorrow evening.”

I nodded.

“I’m sorry to disturb your evening, David, Aros.” They nodded but didn’t speak. They are letting me talk

and that’s what I need right now. “I don’t have much time and I ask for this meeting to confirm your

alliance with my pack. My mate was taken by Elon, she’s carrying our pup but she’s not aware of it yet.”

I sighed when my body trembled with the thought.

I don’t know how far the pup can protect Ashira like how Zynia said, but what I feared was for both their

life to be harmed once Elon found out about it.

I shook my head, trying to concentrate.

“I need more troops to fight against Ravenous and I need it fast. Can I rely to the both of you?”

“Regal pack is always on your side.” David confirmed.

“Trivian sides with the good pack. I’m with you. But Ravenous is a small pack, their shifters are half of

yours. Less, based on the reports. Why do you need more army to fight?” Aros asked.

“Elon made a pact with some rogues at the Valley, and some from the North. He was doing these illegal

activities behind us, preparing for this day so he could start a war against my pack.”

“Bloody hell.” David groaned.

“That sly! Where is the high council in times like this? This is a direct serious breakage of the rules.”

“We know we can’t rely on the high council alone, so I’m asking for your help, lend me the strength I

needed to win this war.”

Both of them nodded.

“How many are your experienced soldiers, David?”

“The veterans on my pack is around two-hundred, and one-hundred improved fighters. The rest are

beginners but they went under special training, almost a hundred, too.”

“I only need the best of yours. I can’t risk lives of innocent wolves and ruin the future of your packs.”

“I understand. I’ll lend two-hundred and fifty army.” he answered with a nod.

“When can I expect your arrival?”

“Tomorrow. Evening.”

Regal pack is just twelve hours away by vehicle and due to the time he gave, I’m guessing he’s not

letting his pack run on their wolf form. That would decrease the time by half if they will. And that’s a

good idea than to exhaust them before a fight.

I nodded at him and turned to Aros.

“How about you, Aros?”

“Since that’s how you’d like this to operate, I got three-hundred veterans but expect us the day after

tomorrow, at dawn.”

Trivian pack is the farthest pack from the Prime.

“Or you could meet us at Ravenous.”

But they are the nearest pack to Elon. A six hours ride, at most.

He nodded. “When are you planning the attack?”

I closed my eyes and inhaled, filling my lungs with air, trying to straighten my head. I can’t make a

mistake. I should not.

I opened my eyes, feeling that everything was placed in the right tracks.

“Tomorrow, when the moon has fully risen, we will start the attack.”

The both of them nodded, probably feeling the need to attack soon, too.

“Thank you for this cooperation-” Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

“Thank us once its done.” David cut me off with a small smile.

“Hang on, brother. We’ll win this then you’ll let me kick your ass.” Aros joked and I just smiled. We are

of the same age, known each other since we’re a pup but since his distance is far, we often bond unlike

Jacob and I.

The conference has ended when the screen has turned off.

“You didn’t tell them that Ash was a stealer, Aiden.” Nick said as I sat on my chair.

“I don’t need to.”

Telling them may only blurred their thoughts and the last thing I would want is for my ally to question

the bond I have with Ashira.

“And David already knew. Ashira was a former Regal wolf, an adopted child of the Beta, that news

won’t escape his ears.”

Silence filled the room and I can feel that Nick’s head was filled with thoughts.

“What is it, Nick?” I decided to initiate, hating the feeling of thinking what’s running inside his head

when I already had a lot to think about.

“I’m just worried about Ashira. What if Elon found out about her pregnancy?”

Nick always says the right words as if reading through my mind. And what he said is exactly what kept

distracting me.

“Can you call our visitors? I need Zynia’s perception to this.”

Nick nodded and exited the room.

My head is wandering with unpleasant thoughts and its killing me.

It’s hard to keep being tough and strong when I feel so vulnerable inside.

Ashira’s POV

How long have I been in this dark room? Ten hours? More? I lost count of the time but I’m sure every

second was slow, painful. It was as if I’m in a vehicle, full of excitement to reach a place but the ride is

too slow.

Will you ever come for me?

I gasped and slapped my hand on my head, grabbing on the lose strands of my hair, angered by the

thought that past by my mind.

Of course, he will.

Aiden will come for me. I knew he would. I hope he will but its not even necessary to hope because I

know, even if I can’t feel our bond right now, he will save me.

The potion kept making me feel nauseous but not to the point of vomiting. I just need to keep my eyes

closed, avoiding the sight of swirling surroundings.

I don’t feel alone. I feel complete, and I knew that was because of the mate bond between me and

Aiden. The potion might have affected my senses but I can still feel him inside me.

I still wonder why the potion’s effect hasn’t left my body though. It fades fast before, now it didn’t. Just

when I need to reach Aiden’s mind, luck left my side.

Mind-link has a certain distance to work. The portal also has its limit but the connection between mates

have no limit. So wherever I am, may it be the distance or a wolf-proofed place, I could still reach him.

I should just wait for the potion to dry down my system.

Rustles on the door made me jumped, snapping my eyes towards the closed door. Elon entered the

room, his brow was raised as his eyes found me, then he showed his goofy evil smile.

“Hello, wife.” his voice were teasing, making fun of me.

I growled.

“I am not your wife.” I spat the words like poison but he just laughed like I’ve said something funny for

him.

“Oh, yeah. I don’t need you to be my wife. What should I call you? Babymaker? My bitch?” he looked

up, thinking. “Hmm, the latter sounds right.”

I trembled, not from fear, but from wrath I feel towards him.

“Fuck you.” I spit on the floor. “Free me from these chains so I could kill you!”

“HAHAHA! KILL ME? ME? I’m an Alpha, bitch. What made you think you can even scratch me?”

My teeth gritted together. “I’m a Luna with a pack empowering me. Let me go and I’ll show you what I

can do!”

I tried to lose the restraints but couldn’t. The effects of the potion still runs on my vein and these silver

chains forbade me to use any of my power left.

His eyes narrowed but I can read on it how he finds me entertaining. He’s not taking me seriously, at

all. But what should I expect from a heartless dog like him?

“Fierce, but do you know? I love bedding a wild cat tied on my bed, powerless. Such a temptress, you

are.”

My chest is heaving and I could feel my blood boiling from anger. He’s right, I don’t have the strength to

fight him right now. But if I’ll have a chance to, I don’t care if I need to die.

Death is better than giving this bastard a pup to continue his legacy. A child to inherit his rotten attitude

and beliefs is not entitled to even exist. And I rather die than to make his plans possible.

“Oh, well. I don’t need your cooperation, anyway. In your state, what do you think can I do?”

I did not speak. Tears started swelling out of my eyes but not from anger alone, I fear for what he could

do to me because right now, I’m nothing but a helpless prey.

“I can do this,”

In one swift move, he is standing in front of me. He held my neck with one hand, choking me as he lift

me off the ground. I coughed multiple times and once again, I felt my world shaking. I’m getting dizzy

and the lack of oxygen made my stomach churns.

His other hand caress my arm, down to my wrists where the chains are. He tugged on it downwards,

tightening the chains and choking me more as he pulled me down and his straggling stops my body to

follow.

“See? You can’t do anything, right?”

He let go and I coughed more, choking on my own saliva. I felt my blood moved back to my head,

drained for a while, caught by his force.

“Ahh!” I screamed when he grabbed on my hair, making me look up to meet his eyes.

“Now, don’t you look pitiful?”

My breathes are heavy but I managed to laugh a little. Choked, and coughed but continued to laugh

weakly. “ Ha. Only girls would grab a woman’s hair, ugh!” he tightened his grip and I felt like my scalp

will leave my head any moment.

Still, I tried to look unmoved.

“Was being a Luna of the strongest pack of the North made you proud, huh?” He’s getting agitated, and

I know I provoked him somehow.

The veins on his neck were visible, I don’t know if he’s trying to resist his anger or if this is his limit

already.

A heavy palm met my cheek and I was deafened from the impact of his slap. I taste my blood from the

cut he made inside my cheeks. And damn, it stings for a human body.

If only the potion don’t have the effects on me, I would’ve healed quick but since its otherwise, the

blood gushes out of my mouth.

I grinned when I saw how his flesh trembles from irritation. I damned provoked him well.

“Come here,” he pulled on my hair to follow him as he walks to the bed. I tried to stop him, putting my

weight on my feet, but he just lifted me up before throwing me on the soft mattress that I’d avoid to

even sat on.

My body bounced on the softness of the bed and I was thankful that I didn’t wore a dress as my legs

curled up from the force he applied.

“Let’s start making my baby, bitch.”
