Sad news
Author POV
He kept scoffing angrily, as her words echoed in his head. No one ever dared to talk to him in that manner, and the thought of the crazy girl, kept driving him crazy. Even after he canceled the deal, he wasn’t still satisfied, he felt he hasn’t still done enough.
As he stood staring at the closed door, he kept processing what just happened. He couldn’t believe that the ugly thing, did that to him. As much as he want to go after her, and make her regret what she did, he tried to be calmed.
He was still lost in thoughts, when his phone came ringing, and he sighed softly, before bringing it out of his pocket. His heart skipped like a million times, as he behold the caller, to be the doctor, taking care of his dad, and without wasting time, he slide the answer button, before taking the phone to his ear.
“Hello doc.” He said impatiently, as his heart kept thumping heavily against his ribcage.
“Hello Dylan, can you come over to the hospital now? It’s very urgent.” The doctor said, and the line disconnected immediately.
He gulped down the lump in his throat, as ge stared into space, with so many thoughts, running through his mind. He couldn’t help the sudden fear that gripped him, as he prayed nothing goes wrong. He can’t lose his dad, at least not now, his dad is the only family he has, and losing him, is the last thing he wished for.
He grabbed his car keys from the top of his desk, before sauntering to the door, before storming out of his office.
“Henry, I need to be somewhere, I’ll be back, and if I don’t come back today, make sure to take care of things here, I’ll give you a call.” He said to his secretary hurriedly, and without spending anymore seconds in there, he headed straight to the door, before storming out.
He walked briskly through the hallway, till he got to the lobby, where some people were busy with work. His workers kept greeting him, but he only waved at them, as he walked over to the elevator, and stepped in.
The thought of how urgent the doctor sounded, keeps driving him crazy, he couldn’t help wishing that he can teleport to the place, he really needs to know what exactly is wrong with his dad.
After waiting for what seemed like forever to him, he finally stepped out of the elevator, after the door roll opened, before walking briskly to the exit door. He stormed out of the company, and rushed over to his white sport car, and hopped in, before driving out of the compound roughly, and in the next few minutes, he was already on his way to the hospital.
He keep cursing under his breath, as he drove along the road, having so many thoughts, parading his mind.
Minutes later, he stopped his car in front of a building, and turned off the ignition, before stepping out. Walking over briskly to the big iron bar gate, he pushed it opened, and stepped in. He rushed to the entrance door, and stotmed in, as he was welcomed with nurses, parading the lobby, doing one thing or the other.
He counted his steps to the reception, trying be calmed, and not apppear as crazy as he’s feeling at the moment.
“Hello mr Dylan?” The receptionist smiled at him, and he almost yelled at her. If only she knows what he’s going through now, smiling at him, would be the last thing on her mind, but still, he tried to keep his calm.
“Where’s the doctor please?” He asked restlessly, while giving her an anxious look.
“Hes in his office, but you would have to wait for a few minutes before you can see him, hes busy with a patient at the moment, and will soon be back.” She replied politely, sounding professional.
He bit his bottom lip restlessly, and closed his eyes briefly in frustration. As much as he really need to see the doctor, he knows he would have to wait.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Ok, I’ll be back.” He said briefly, before hurrying away to God knows where. Three minutes later, he stopped in front of a room, and on the wall, is boldly written, ‘Emergency Room’. He sighed softly, and held the doorknob, before twisting it opened. He walked into the room, and stopped in his track, as his eyes fell on his dad, who was laying on the sick bed, with his eyes closed, too many wires attached to his body, and a big oxygen tank, over his nose.
He gulped down the lump in his throat, tears welled up his eyes, before they finally found their ways out. His heart shattering into pieces, his world came crumbling down right in front of him, looking at him like that, makes him lost hi hope of ever seeing him alive again. As much as he wants to be strong and positive, as much as he wants to believe that everything will be fine, it is obvious that nothing will ever be fine, and that breaks his heart.
Letting his hand dropped from the doorknob, which he’s been holding on to, he hobbled over to his bed, and swallowed hard, before reaching out his trembling hand to touch his pale hand, as he took it and gave it a light squeeze, before slowly raising his gaze to look at his face.
“Dad… how’re you doing today?” He asked with a pained smile on his face, as he sat on the chair beside the bed, not letting go of his hand.
“I know you can hear me dad…, you won’t leave me, right? You know you’re the only family I have here, you have always been the only one right from onset, I know you won’t leave me, right? You love me a lot to think of leaving me, right?” He broke down in tears, as he touched his cheek with his dad’s hand. Tears keep rolling down his cheeks, as he stared down at him, he wished he could do something about it, he wish he could heal him, and bring him back to his sound health, but there’s nothing which him, or anyone can do about this, he hired the best doctor to take care of him, but still, nothing seem to be changing.
“The doctor demands to see you in his office, Mr Dylan.” A young female nurse walked in and said, before walking out almost immediately.
“I’ll be back dad.” He said, and kissed his hand, before standing up, after which he walked out of the room, and headed straight to the doctor’s office.
Walking into his office after knocking, he walked over to the chair across him, and took his seat, not after exchanging pleasantries with him.
“Mr Dylan, I’m sorry to say this, but your dad’s sickness is getting critical, and at this point, if I should be honest with you, then I think you should stop trying to keep him alive, because there’s no point in doing that. The cancer has taken over his lungs completely, and at this point, there’s nothing we can do about it.” The doctor said calmly, and his eyes widened, as he felt a loud bang in his head…
