Chapter 1123
Ever since she arrived, Angie had been pestering Theodore and trying to talk to him.
Theodore, out of respect for Aurora, responded from time to time. He found it a bit annoying, so he went to the backyard to smoke alone. He didn't have a strong smoking habit, only smoking a couple of cigarettes when he was frustrated.
Suddenly, he saw a figure walking into the garden. He quickly threw the cigarette away and walked over.
"Grandma."
Hearing the noise, Rebecca turned around and saw Theodore. She froze for a moment, then asked, "Who are you calling Grandma? Who are you?"
"I'm Theodore."
"Theodore?" Rebecca thought for a long while, then asked, "Oh, Theo, you've grown up! Where's Rose?"
"She's upstairs." Theodore gently supported her. "Grandma, I'll take you upstairs to find her."
"She's not upstairs." Rebecca frowned. "There are two strange girls upstairs. I don't know them. Are they your friends?"
Theodore knew his grandmother's condition was intermittent-sometimes clear-headed, sometimes confused, and sometimes a mix of both. So, he always went along with whatever she said.
"Yes, they're my friends."
"What friends? Why are two girls here? If Rose knew, she'd be upset! You two are about to get married. Don't act like your father."
Theodore awkwardly pursed his lips. "Grandma, don't worry. They're both Rose's friends."
Theodore could only try his best to comfort her.
"Then where is Rose? Why isn't she here?" Rebecca pressed.
"She...she had to go out for something. She's been busy lately," Theodore replied. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
"Busy with what? Where is she? Why did her friends take her away to do something? Ask her to come back soon. I haven't seen her in so long!" Rebecca gently tugged at Theodore's sleeve.
"Where did Rose go? You didn't
make her angry and chase her away, did you? Ob; what's wrong with you, child? How many times have I told you to treat her well? You're about to marry her, and now the bride's
gone-what will you do?"
"Grandma, please don't worry," Theodore hurriedly reassured her. "I'll call Rose now."
He was afraid Rebecca's emotions would worsen her condition, so he had to calm her down.
"Well, hurry up and call her. If you made her angry, then coax her! Don't bully her, and talk to her nicely."
"Okay." Theodore took out his phone and called Rosalie.
He wasn't sure if she would answer. The phone rang for almost a minute before it automatically hung up.
Theodore felt a wave of disappointment. He put down the phone and said to Rebecca, "Grandma, she's probably busy and didn't answer."
Rebecca's emotions suddenly got
et
out of control "How could this happen? What did you do to her? Why isn't she answering you? Where is Rose?! Why is she missing? I've told you so many times, don't bully her Why are you still like this?"
Rebecca hit Theodore's chest forcefully.
"You've already married her, so how can you bully her like this? Is it because of that girl, Cynthia?"
"Grandma, you remember Cindy?"
Theodore's eyes showed a hint of surprise—not because of Cynthia, but because his grandmother remembered. It was good for her to recall things from the past.
"Cindy... Look how familiar you are with her!" Rebecca raised her hand and hit him, "What's wrong with you? Why don't you learn the good things but only the bad? Messing around outside! You deserve to be hit! I don't have a grandson like you!"
"Grandma!" Aurora ran over and quickly stood in front of Theodore. "Why are you hitting Theo? What's going on?"
"Why are you standing so close to Theo? Move aside!" Rebecca, emotionally charged, pulled Aurora away.
Theodore quickly stepped in between both women. "Grandma, please don't act like this."
"Theo, who is this woman? Cynthia wasn't enough, and now there's another?! She's calling you 'Theo' so intimately! Who is she?" Rebecca was furious.
