CHAPTER 32- I REALLY MISS MAMA

CHAPTER 32- I REALLY MISS MAMA

The lonely bungalow was echoing with the joyful laughter of the kids, especially the little girl who never

had many visitors coming by. The Little initiative the two boys took really meant a lot to the girl. The

three played in the mini playground that was specially made for her in the garden all day long.

The Little girl was awfully cheerful today, she tugged onto Ryan's hands and kept on running here and

there trying all the swings with him that she had been playing with all these years alone. While Jack

and Ryan managed to go and pull stunts with the swings as they were professionally trained Catherine,

with her small frail body, would fall clumsily while trying to keep up with them. Seeing her hurting

herself when chasing them Ryan gave up in his play and accompanied her for the rest of the day. The

duo plucked flowers, chased butterflies, and laughed together shaming the third wheeler to death.

Ryan was extremely patient with her, every time she fell he would pick her up and dust off her knees

and make sure she doesn't trip again. The day was really merry for the girl until the nanny called them

for lunch.

Catherine was really obedient on the table and being happy from the bottom of her heart she ate more.

"Wait here, big brother. Let me bring ice cream for you." Catherine jumped off her chair and made her

way to the kitchen. Even though the nanny proposed to help her the girl smiled and still went in to

organize the dessert alone.

Sitting on the table with the boys the nanny got a bit nostalgic; she raised the girl since she was born

and knew the loneliness she faced. She commented, "This is the first time I am seeing Young miss this

happy."

Ryan knew what she was indicating at and stayed mum as he saw the girl approach them holding a

tray with bowls of ice cream. The presentation of the dessert was poor as the pink flavored ice cream

was spilled here a d there on the tray yet it looked really delicious to the boy's adoring eyes.

After the three are Jack went to the washroom while Catherine took Ryan to her room to show him her

friends. As soon as she pushed open the toys with her feeble hands his eyes were greeted by a room

literally filled with stuffed toys.

Ryan was surprised about seeing this many stuff toys at once in a single room; the girl, who was used

to this, pulled his arms and took him in.

"Here, sit down, big brother." She made him sit on the bed before running away to pull out something

from her cupboard. While she was finding her certain something Ryan was busy looking at the toy gala,

there were notoriously many toys. He wondered if he will ever be able to count the fur stuffed toys of

different sizes scattered tet perfectly arranged in the room.

The Little girl came back holding a drawing book in her hands and climbed up on the bed to sit next to

him. Ryan couldn't contain his curiosity and asked, "Why do you have so many toys in your room. Do

you like them?"

Concentrating on opening her notebook the girl replied casually, "Yes, I love these toys." After reaching

the desired page she passed him her drawing book and continued, "Here, big brother. Look at my

drawings."

Ryan looked at the childish drawings made on the paper; he was a grown-up and thus he found these

silky but to her, these were masterpieces doodled off her hand that she was proud about. "So, you like Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

to draw." He asked to which the girl vigorously nodded. She started at him with her earnest eyes

anticipating his compliments. Ryan understood what she was looking forward to and replied, "These

are really beautiful!"

"Hihi... Thank you, big brother." Catherine was really happy hearing his words. She enthusiastically

flipped the pages for him and got happy over his compliments. Ryan sat there admiring her

expressions more than the artworks; she did something to him, something he didn't know which was

getting deeper and stronger the more he was with her.

There were drawings of houses, cars, elephants, trees, and flowers. Ryan was seeing every single one

before he stopped at a particular drawing; it wasn't an abiotic thing like her previous artworks but the

drawing of a woman holding a little girl. This drawing felt a little peculiar to the boy that made him stop

his flipping and look at it, it was as if he was trying to decide the meaning.

The girl's eyes turned a little misty as she looked at it, she smiled weakly before pointing at the drawing

of the little girl and said, "That's me..." And signaling at the woman she confessed, "That's mama..."

Ryan fell silent not knowing what to say, he was well aware of her mother's history. She was

pronounced dead by his father but he didn't know what actually happened. He scanned the girl's face

who was looking unwavering at the drawing. She slowly started, "I really love my mama, she is the best

woman in the world. But mom atter how much I love her she won't ever know... She is with God now."

Her amateur voice with hints of gloom rang in the room as she was slowly confessing her feelings for

her mother. She continued, "I never saw her; dad said God took her away the day He gave me to

daddy. I have only seen mama in a photo and she is really really beautiful."

"I made this on my last birthday for her; I... If she was with me today this drawing would have been a

reality, I would have been able to hold her hands and go out with her."

Catherine's voice was really low at this point and was drained of all its excitement and cheerfulness.

She looked like a lost puppy who thrives for shelter battling nostalgia. She continued, "I... I really miss,

mama. I wish she was here with me; if she was here... I wouldn't be this lonely."

Ryan felt really pitiful for the girl; growing up without her mother's love must have been hard for her.

Her father too was really busy with work and how far would her nanny walk with her; at the end of the

day, she was just one left-out child locked in her room missing her deceased mother. Catherine

reached out to pull a doll that sat on the bed, she held it in her arms and rubbed its face and arms

nostalgically.

She said, "My mom bought it for me when I was still inside her; she wanted to gift it to me. This... Is the

first and last thing she left behind for me to remember her. I call her Fiona, I named it after my

mother."
