FALLING FOR THE COLD, RUTHLESS, POWERFUL ALPHA

CHAPTER 18

ANITA'S POV

"Get the fuck out Ben! I don't want to hear any more words coming from your mouth!" i repeated, this time I was louder than the first time. I hoped that he was going to listen. He had clearly overstated his welcome but that was about to change.

"Don't do this," He hushed but I shook my head in disagreement and pointed towards the door. He looked like he had more to say but I was not going to give him that chance to talk about what he had in his mind. I needed him out. "Out!" I said before shutting the door on his face and locking myself in.

I was going through a lot and I really regretted getting the door for Ben because he made me feel worse.

He had continued to lie to me concerning the Alphas condition and I could not take it anymore.

I really wished that he could keep his distance, clearly, our friendship was not going to work. I couldn't stand him cooking lies about the man that my heart beats for. That is unacceptable.

I ran my fingers through my hair as I sat at the edge of the bed. There was so much to really think about and I didn't know where to start. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

To be honest, I had missed Alpha Robin. Knowing that I was not going to see him for a week or so because of him suspending me from the fighting team added salt to the injury. I wished that there was a way around this.I couldn't take it anymore. Now that I had had this huge fight with Ben, I didn't have someone else to talk to who was going to distract me from reality. I had to go through it alone, if all those emotions end up killing me then I would die alone.

My life at the moment felt sad and hopeless. I didn't know that love could feel like this sometimes. Honestly, I used to believe that love endures it all until this moment where I can clearly see that it doesn't.

I tried to get him out of my mind and think of my sister but I couldn't do it. He was the only person who had permanently occupied my mind.

I knew I should forget him, do all it takes even leave the pack because he fucked Lola but I couldn't do it. All that I wanted to do was to make him fuck me so that he could choose me over her.

This was so toxic of me to think of it this way but I couldn't help it.

I really wished that he could love me for me to love him even harder. I wondered why he just didn't give me a chance to prove to him what true love feels like. With me, he would get the purest form of love but he just doesn't want to give me a chance.

I wanted to believe that deep down he missed me because sometimes he actually shows me that he cares for me but I cannot be sure about that at this point in time. The thing about him is that you cannot read his mind, one minute you think that you have figured him out and what he is going to do only for him to change his mind the next second and do a completely different thing. I knew that figuring him out was not going to be easy but I was ready for the challenge. Sitting there and missing him without doing anything about it was just a waste of time. I needed to sleep, if not, I needed to think of actual plans to try and get him back into my life. I was about to go and shower before I began the planning process when I smelt his scent right outside my window. You have to be kidding me, there is no way this can be a mere coincidence. Do you mean that he actually comes to check on me because he truly cares about me? I couldn't believe it. I was so excited. I was ready to go and rush to his arms, allowing him to hold me tightly as I told him of how much I truly missed him.

It really felt good to know that the feeling is mutual. He needed me the same way that I needed him. He missed me the same way that I missed him.

**

ALPHA ROBIN'S POV

I wanted to believe that she had left because she was not interested in working for me anymore but Harry did not believe that.

"You know why she left," He told me.

"Of course you know my reason," I told him, I was so tired of repeating myself.

"The reason that she left is because you cannot be understood. One minute you act like you love her while the next you act like you don't. What is wrong with you? Why can't you be true to your feelings? I told you not to worry about heartbreak when it comes to this girl. She will never heartbreak you. She will never hurt your feelings. You have to believe everything that I am telling you about," Harry told me as I continued going through the documents that Beta had brought to my office.

"What if you are wrong Harry? Matters of the heart can be very complicated. Take it from me," I told him. He always acts on impulse and I needed to remind him that even though spontaneity is good, I really had to be honest to him about how love can turn out to be ugly.

"You have never been in love before. You hated my ex-girlfriend, didn't you?" I chuckled.

"But I was right all along. That woman was using you. She ended up cheating on you, didn't she?" Harry said. To be honest, he had warned me before but I was not listening.

"Don't go there. I don't want to think about it," I warned.

"Great, I can see you are done with work. Listen to me, let's go and talk to her. You know her room. Let's go and wait outside, I am sure that she will show up and you will go ahead to present the offer. I am pretty sure that she will say yes. She will say yes to you," He said with so much conviction.

I chose to listen to Harry. After completing my work, I headed to her room. For once I was going to tell her what was in my heart. I was not going to give her mixed signals. Today, she will know that I feel something special for her in my heart.
