Chapter 532
Flora leaned back in her chair, a soft smile playing on her lips as she watched Jules, who was earnestly giving his lecture on stage.
As soon as the class ended and Jules stepped out, one of the girls finally broke down in tears. Libby was trying to comfort her, but her eyes kept darting to the door. When she saw Alexa walk in, her face lit up with joy. "Cousin!" she called out.
Libby hurried over, grabbed Alexa by the arm, and deliberately raised her voice. "Cousin, is the medical lab not busy today? How come you're here so early?"
The mention of the "medical lab" caught everyone's attention, and they turned to look. Standing next to Libby, Alexa wore a lab coat that made her slightly dark complexion appear even darker. The badge on her chest read:
Medical Lab.
Alexa.
For someone so young to be part of the medical lab was truly impressive. Alexa, with her hands in her pockets, couldn't help but lift her chin slightly, basking in the envious and admiring gazes from all around. She knew she wasn't particularly attractive, so she figured the best way to get noticed was to excel. And she had succeeded in making people look up to her.
"Libby, your cousin works in the medical lab? That's so impressive!"
"Libby, you've been so modest. If your cousin hadn't come to find you today, we wouldn't have known she worked in the medical lab."
Hearing these compliments made Libby feel secretly proud. She had intentionally asked Alexa to come find her today to show off in front of everyone. She thought Alexa wouldn't come, but to her surprise, Alexa agreed immediately.
A girl who was familiar with Libby glanced at Flora and said sarcastically, "Our Libby has always been modest, unlike some people who just joined the medical lab and act as if they're above everyone else, wanting the whole world to know. And now, to be kicked out so unceremoniously, how ridiculous."
Just moments before, in class, she had been feeling frustrated. Now that she had the chance to humiliate Flora, she wasn't going to miss it.
"How pathetic," Cynthia muttered under her breath.
"Flora, let's get out of here. Ignore them," Eilies suggested.
Without any visible emotion, Flora picked up her books, stood up, and lazily walked toward the door. But the doorway was blocked by Alexa and her group. Cynthia, annoyed, said, "Excuse us! You're blocking the door!"
Alexa looked deeply at Flora before slowly stepping aside. The others, intimidated by Flora, quickly moved aside as well.
Eilies and Cynthia led Flora out.
"Flora," Alexa called out just as Flora was about to leave. "Even though you've been dismissed from the medical lab, we've worked together in the past. Dr. Ray asked me to tell you to stop doing those things. He won't hold it against you anymore and hopes you'll study hard and live upstandingly from now on."
The classroom fell silent for a moment, then various curious and judgmental looks were directed at Flora. They all knew Flora had been dismissed from the medical lab, but they didn't know why. Could there be more to the story?
What did it mean that they wouldn't hold it against her anymore?
Did Flora do something terrible?
Hearing Alexa's words, Flora raised an eyebrow and casually flipped her book in her hand.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
