Chapter 539
Mr. Trevor couldn't help but take another look at Moss upon hearing his words, surprised that he knew his name.
The man dressed in a sharp suit stood tall and straight as a pine, with deep, firm yet gentle eyes. He was clearly no ordinary man. Mr. Trevor narrowed his eyes and gave a slight nod. He was indeed curious about what Moss wanted to say.
Leaning closer, Moss whispered a few words to Mr. Trevor. His voice was so low that no one else could hear what he was saying, except for the two of them. However, after Moss finished speaking, Mr. Trevor's expression visibly changed.
Moss slightly turned his head to look at Flora and nodded lightly. "Miss Flora, please take your friend and leave first."
"Alright." Flora responded lazily, her hand still on Kaylee's shoulder, gently pushing, "Let's go."
"You can't leave! The matter isn't resolved yet!" Several girls were puzzled, not understanding how they could just leave. They instinctively blocked Flora's path, but Flora raised her eyes, staring at them. Her lips were still curled in a half-smile, seemingly amused, yet her eyes showed no laughter-only endless coldness, like winter ice spikes, causing the girls to shiver.
By the time they realized what was happening, Flora had already pulled Kaylee out. "Director, Kaylee is being taken away! Aren't you going to do something about it?" The girls watched their departing figures, both angry and anxious!
Mr. Trevor didn't respond, casting a wary glance at Moss standing nearby. Moss approached the girls, nodding slightly, "Ladies, let's talk."
...
Stepping out of the office building, they saw Connor's car. Flora opened the back door and sat down. Connor glanced at the bruises on Kaylee's face through the rearview mirror, passed the first-aid kit to Flora, then raised the car's partition before getting out himself.
Inside the car, Flora said, "Take off your clothes, let's see if the injuries are severe." Kaylee sluggishly took off her jacket. Underneath, she wore a white short-sleeved shirt. Her arms were covered in bruises. Flora's gaze deepened.
"How did you end up in a fight?" Flora asked as she treated the wounds.
"...They said some unpleasant things about you." Kaylee's voice trembled slightly. Flora paused, holding the cotton swab, not expecting this reason. Initially, when she heard Kaylee had been in a fight, she was worried about her getting hurt. But seeing her relatively unscathed, her worry faded, even feeling somewhat pleased.
Kaylee was too soft, easily bullied. It was rare for her to fight back, which was actually good. Consider it a courage-building exercise. "Alright, put your clothes back on," Flora said after cleaning all the wounds. Kaylee obediently dressed.
"Avoid water for the next few days, get a good sleep when you get back, and you'll be fine," Flora said, gently tugging at Kaylee's hanging ponytail. "Midterms are coming. Focus on that. As for what others say, don't mind them."Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Kaylee nodded silently, feeling a bit tearful.

Libby had come to the Fashion Design Department to find a friend. Just as she reached the bottom of the office building, she saw that back figure that drove her crazy. The man stood silently against the car hood, one leg slightly bent, his head lowered, showing just a profile in the dim light. But even just that was enough to make her heart race.
It was him! Libby could hear her own heartbeat!
