Chapter 596
"Anyone else coming over?" Flora asked, rubbing her sore wrists nonchalantly.
No one answered.
The folks from Club 257 and Empire Base wouldn't dare cross over, even if it meant staying poisoned forever. No way.
Their leader, Ms. Flora, had mad medical skills, way beyond that of Mr. Atticus. They knew they'd be begging Flora for help eventually. "Have some water," Connor said, handing her an insulated mug.
Flora took it and sipped, the water sweetened just right with honey. She pursed her lips, took another sip, and handed it back.
"Next time, a little less honey."
"Got it!" Connor nodded, delighted to see Flora's mood lighten. He'd been fretting over her, especially with all the stress about Crimson. Seeing her relax, even a bit, was a relief.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Ms. Flora! Come on, take your pick!" An Empire Base disciple sat down, cheerfully extending his hand to Flora.
Those who refused Ms. Flora's treatment were missing out! He wished everyone else would leave so Ms. Flora could have a break.
"Ms. Flora, that Mr. Atticus guy seems to have actually cured someone. What do we do now?" Lance whispered, his anger rising as the crowd practically idolized Mr. Atticus. No way they could let him hog all the glory, right?
"Him?" Flora scoffed. "He's not that good."
Initially, Flora thought the poison was his doing, but after analyzing it, she dismissed the idea. He wasn't capable of creating such a toxin, nor curing it. She'd seen his detox process; he missed two crucial steps. Trouble was brewing.
"Why do I feel like I'm not itching or hurting anymore?"
"Me too!"
Those Flora treated first were astonished to find themselves completely healed. Not only pain-free but also energized, like they could bust out a Tai Chi routine on the spot!
Elio let out a breath, feeling refreshed and clear-headed. He looked at Flora with newfound respect; her skills were no joke.
"She actually cured them?"
Mr. Atticus's line was long, and many were still waiting. Hearing the surprise exclamations, some folks regretted rushing over. Had they stayed put, they'd probably be cured by now and wouldn't have risked offending Flora.
"She's so young, her medical skills can't be as good as Mr. Atticus's. I still trust him more. Who knows what side effects her treatment might have."
The others murmured in agreement, careful not to let Flora hear.
Mr. Atticus overheard and smirked, thinking Flora comparing her skills to his was laughable. But before his smile could fade, a cry of alarm surged from the crowd!
A person lay on the ground, foaming at the mouth, convulsing uncontrollably...
