Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 627

At the University of Maple Grove, the buzz about the upcoming medical competition sponsored by a prominent medical organization was already well-known. In the conference room, Dr. Ray adjusted his glasses and began addressing the matter of selecting participants.

Before he could finish, the door flew open. Alexa, drenched in sweat and panting heavily, stood at the entrance. "Dr. Ray, I'm so sorry I'm late!"

She had spent the entire night worrying about Hudson's request for her to ask Flora to treat him, resulting in a sleepless night. Her eyes were red, and her complexion paler than usual.

Dr. Ray, visibly annoyed by the interruption, shot a sharp glance at Alexa. "Stand by the door and listen!" he commanded sternly.

Knowing she was at fault, Alexa, though embarrassed, complied without a word. Her gaze, however, kept drifting towards Flora. Thinking about Hudson's request, her hand at her side clenched into a fist.

Dr. Ray continued, "We need six contestants in total. I've already chosen three-Shawn, Darcy, and Flora."

He glanced at Flora, relieved to see her listening attentively without any objection. He had feared she might refuse to participate.

"Three spots remain," he went on. "Those interested should submit an application. I'll select the most suitable candidates based on overall ability."

Shawn and Darcy were acknowledged as the lab's top talents, their selection indisputable. And Flora, despite being a newcomer, had already proven her exceptional skills, earning unanimous respect. All except for Alexa.

"Dr. Ray, you're choosing Flora to represent the University of Maple Grove in the competition?!" she exclaimed incredulously, her voice rising. "Flora's just a freshman, barely new to the lab. How could she represent our university?!"

Jealousy churned within her, almost overwhelming.

Why Flora? What made her so special?

Selene, the prodigy, had praised her,

and now Flora was chosen to

represent the University of Maple Grove in a competition with the medical organization-a glory many could only dream of.

"Do you have an objection?" Dr. Ray's cold gaze swept over Alexa.

"I disagree!" Alexa retorted, her teeth clenched. "Even if Flora is skilled, she's still just a freshman! There are many senior students in this lab with both experience and skill. Are you saying, by choosing Flora over them, that her skills surpass theirs?"

Her words hinted at stirring discord.

Truth be told, some senior students felt slighted. They had dedicated years to the lab, and Dr. Ray's choice of a newcomer over them was a blow to their pride.

Yet, if they were in Dr. Ray's shoes, they too would have chosen Flora for her undeniable talent.

Alexa's attempt at advocacy only embarrassed them further.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

"Flora's skills are indeed superior to ours. Why shouldn't she be chosen? What right do you have to object? Would you have preferred to be chosen instead?" a fiery senior

student retorted.

Faced with their rebuttal, Alexa's complexion turned ashen. She had intended to speak on their behalf, yet they scorned her efforts.

Did they all wish to be mere followers of Flora?

"Dr. Ray..."

"My decisions are not up for your questioning. Leave!"
