Chapter 642
Connor chuckled, his deep laugh crackling through the phone, sending shivers down Flora's spine.
No wonder he was her man! Even his voice was irresistible.
"Hang tight, I'm coming to get you," he said.
"Okay," she replied, ending the call with a smile.
Her colleagues couldn't help but gather around, their curiosity getting the better of them.
"Flora, you and your fiancé are so in love," one of them commented.
They had seen it all-the way Flora's face lit up like a girl head-over-heels in love. But they also couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Shawn, the quiet guy who had finally found someone he liked, only to find out she was already taken.
Half an hour later, Connor's car rolled up outside the lab. Flora climbed in, her backpack slung over her shoulder. Connor took it from her and handed her a cup of her favorite tea latte. "Your favorite, half sweet," he said.
The warm drink felt comforting in her hands, making Flora so happy she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
"My Mr. Connor is so thoughtful," she cooed.
In the front seat, Moss and Beck pretended to be engrossed in the road ahead, used to their friends' public displays of affection.
Knowing Flora hadn't eaten properly, Connor had fresh ingredients flown in to make her favorite dishes: sweet and sour pork ribs, braised fish, and a simple side of green beans with vinaigrette.
Back at their villa, Connor changed
into more comfortable clothes and headed straight to the kitchen. After her shower, Flora, now in her cozy home attire, noticed the washed grapes and snacks on the coffee
table.
Smiling, she picked up a grape and walked to the kitchen. "Connor, open wide," she teased.
Connor paused his chopping and looked at her, a smile playing on his lips. Flora blinked and held a grape to his mouth, but just as he was about to bite down, she pulled back and popped it into her own
mouth, laughing.
"If you want some, come get it," she challenged, holding another grape between her teeth.
Her lips were full and inviting, making Connor's gaze darken with desire. Loosening his collar, he leaned down, his lips meeting hers. His tongue slipped into her mouth, capturing the grape.
Ten minutes later, Flora emerged from the kitchen, her clothes slightly rumpled and a blush on her cheeks. Connor watched her, amusement dancing in his eyes.
She was a tease, but she couldn't handle the heat.
Flora flopped onto the couch, her
phone in hand. She had been watching TV, but the flood of notifications became too much. Exiting the app, she saw that Ellies and Cynthia had been tagging her non stop in the group chat
Curious, Flora scrolled through the messages. The buzz was all about the University of Maple Grove's announcement of a competition list.
The upcoming competition between the medical organization and the University of Maple Grove had already taken the internet by storm. The moment the participant list was released, it went viral. Shawn, Darcy, and others were well-known for their competition prowess, so their names on the list came as no surprise and were met with cheers.
But Flora's name? The nation did a collective double-take, wondering if there had been some sort of mistake.
