Chapter 35 You Can Give it a Try

Chapter 35 You Can Give it a Try

Julian pressed his lips, his expression looked grim, "What?"

During the meal, all he did was tease the girl; he didn’t show any semblance of professionalism.

Cohen reassessed his choice of words, his gaze slightly glanced over to the car. They were still a ways

from where they parked, so they didn’t need to fear Sadie would overhear, but it would take a while to

say things clearly.

He looked at his watch, then gave Julian a playful punch, “Don’t worry, I won’t fight with you for her. In

the afternoon, I’m stopping by Communication University and will chat with her in private so she can

make her own judgment.”

“You’ll be sorry if you dare do anything else.” Julian said blankly.

As they were talking, they didn’t notice Otto slowly driving by in his Maybach.

Sadie had the car window rolled down; her eyes were shut, and she didn’t see Otto’s car either, but

Paige saw her clearly.

The Rolls Royce car was already enough to grab anyone’s attention; as for the man with his back

turned, though his face was hidden from view, his body was definitely comparable to that of top male

models.

“Otto, do you know the owner of that car?” Paige feigned innocence, “I just saw my classmate in the

car.”

Otto looked at the license plate through his rearview mirror and laughed as he shook his head, “I don’t

know the owner, but that car is worth a hefty sum, so that man must be quite something.”

As he finished speaking, he thought of her last sentence, and added, “Which classmate?”

Paige lowered her head and pretended to say hesitantly, "I knew you won't believe me if I said it..."

How was it possible that an ugly monster like Sadie could sit in such a high-class car? Anyone who

could kiss that face of hers without vomiting was already a saint, so anyone who would willingly take

care of her must be acting out of true love.

Then again, no one could say for sure; there were quite a lot of men with queer tastes, especially rich

middle-aged men.

With that kind of news that broke out in the orphanage, there was no way Sadie was uninvolved!

“Why would I not believe you?” Otto said with a hint of unhappiness, but he hid it well.

“Sadie Chambers, she was sitting in the car” As soon as she finished saying, Paige pretended to be

agitated and sat upright, to better carefully observe Otto’s expression.

Paige wouldn’t have believed it either had she not seen Sadie with her own eyes. The girl in the car

really was Sadie. The Maybach let out an ear-piercing sound and pulled to a stop.

Paige turned pale and instinctively clutched at her chest, she complained slightly, “Otto, you scared

me.”

Otto said nothing; his eyes were glued to the rearview mirror.

Five minutes later, the Rolls Royce left and passed by his car.

The car window was rolled down halfway; he could see Sadie sat in the car, but he couldn’t make out

who sat beside her.

Thinking back to his father’s warning, Otto pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth. During the

week he had been traveling abroad, who did Sadie meet?

Otto glanced over at Paige next to him, then suddenly remembered the event from the orphanage.

With such an expensive car, the owner had to be at least in his 40s.

Could it be that Sadie wanted to break up with him due to the owner of that car? Otto’s eyes and

expression grew dim.

Even if he didn’t want her, he would not stand Sadie being with this kind of man!

Sadie arrived near her school; as she was about to get out the car, Julian pulled her.

“Let go!” She stared at him, her face red with anger.

“Why are you acting like a hedgehog?” Julian grabbed her shoulder to prevent her from getting away.

He leaned his head towards her and whispered into her ear, “My dear, anyone who tried to cross me

has never lived long, but you can give it a try.”

Sadie was slightly stiff; she suppressed the anger in her chest, and forced a smile, “Brother Julian…”

“That’s all, hmm?” Julian looked at her with a forgiving attitude and all smiles.

Sadie tugged at the corner of her clothes tightly, then loosened her grip; she shut her eyes and leaned

in quickly to kiss Julian’s face, “I’m off to class.”

“Good girl.” Julian raised his hand to caress her face and smiled, “The driver will come pick you at

night, call me if you need anything.”

Cold sweat formed on Sadie’s forehead; she got out the car in a hurry amidst Julian’s laughter.

Even as she walked for a while, she could still feel him gazing at her from behind her; she couldn’t

shake the feeling off at all.

She rushed to the dormitory and panted; her heart felt as if it was about to burst out of her chest.

Julian must know what she was up to; otherwise, he would not have said those words!

Thinking of this, she glanced around; she seemed to recall there was a public phone in the school’s

shop, and she ran towards that direction.

Halfway there, she stopped suddenly in discomfort, and pressed against her temple.

She wanted to call the hospital and check whether her mother was undergoing treatment, but

subconsciously, a voice seemed to prevent her from doing so.

What exactly did she forget yesterday; how could she have such a cold-blooded thought?

The person lying in the hospital was her foster mother, who raised her for over six years…

Her head-splitting headache made her stop to rest by a nearby chair. A strong sense of discomfort rose

again, and her chest felt so tight she felt as if she would suffocate.

It was a good thing she only had one elective class in the afternoon; she left the classroom, and her

cellphone rang.

She looked at the number, and recalled it was Cohen, whom she had lunch together with. She

answered the call.

“Sadie, I’m at your school; meet me at the Science and Technology Building.” Cohen’s cheerful voice

sounded through the phone; it was like a ray of sunshine, and suddenly, the tightness in her chest was

gone.

“I’ll head over right away.” Sadie hung up and headed towards the meeting place.

What did Cohen want to talk to her about? He might be meeting her to test her, or maybe it was for

something else.

Under normal circumstances, she should go meet him, but her sixth sense strongly guessed that he

was the one talking to Julian over the phone. This meant that they probably knew of her past.

As she arrived near the Science and Technology Building, she could see Cohen glancing around with

his cellphone, and he appeared quite comical.

Compared to Julian, he was much more friendly and likeable.

“Mr. Palmer.” Sadie greeted him and casually walked towards him.

“No need to be so distant; call me Cohen,” He said as he handed her a box of desserts, and slightly

embarrassedly asked her if she knew how to get to the Teaching Research Building.

Sadie gladly took the dessert and led the way.

Not far from them, Paige saw everything and immediately took a photo and uploaded it to her social

media.

This Sadie was quite something; to think she could switch partners so quickly. Although the man

seemed to dress casually, Paige could tell that his net worth was no lower than Otto’s.

Paige was puzzled; Sadie looked so ugly, but why did so many rich folks flock to her?

“Why are you staring at her for?” Riley suddenly showed up and said, with a complex look on her face. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

“That man is pretty handsome, is that her boyfriend or something?”
