Chapter 771 Taking Triplets as Godchildren
Phoebe felt particularly guilty under his scrutinizing gaze, but she still had to act nonchalant and stare back. Their eyes met, and after a few seconds, Theodore stood
up.
"Get some rest early."
Watching his figure walk towards the door, Phoebe felt a slight relief. Just as she was about to say, "Good night, Mr. Reynolds," she saw Theodore suddenly turn around.
Under the warm yellow light, Theodore's striking features and expressive eyes made him exceptionally handsome. He looked deeply at Phoebe, "Phoebe, there's something I need to trouble you with."
"What is it?"
"I feel a special connection with the triplets, and I really like them. I want to take them as my godchildren. Could you talk to their parents about it?"
Phoebe stared at him in shock for a moment before she managed to speak, "What did you say?"
"Phoebe, I know you like them a lot, even letting them come and go freely in your house. I like them just as much. Please ask the triplets' parents to consider it. After all, being my godchildren would open up many opportunities for them," Theodore said.noveldrama
Phoebe never expected that Theodore would want to take the triplets as his godchildren. If he knew the triplets were her children, would he want to strangle her?
"I-I'll let them know."
Theodore nodded in satisfaction, "Then I'll be waiting for the good news."
Phoebe forced a smile.
Theodore gave her a deep look, raised his hand to press the door handle, and the door opened. Just as he was about to step out, he suddenly paused and looked back at Phoebe.
"By the way, Ethan just told me that the triplets seem to have no father?"
Phoebe's legs went weak, and she almost fell to the ground.
She looked at Theodore in a daze. His gaze was too sharp, and Phoebe was afraid he would connect the dots, so she lied, "The triplets do have a father. He's abroad and rarely comes back."
"I see." Theodore nodded thoughtfully, "Get some rest. I'm leaving."
This time, the door finally closed. Phoebe, worried he might come back, stood there in a daze for a while before quick walking to the door and locking it.
Phoebe leaned against the door, her whole body losing strength, and slid down to the floor. She covered her face with her hands, trembling all over.
Theodore wanted to take the triplets as his godchildren?
God must be playing a huge joke on her. How could she refuse Theodore and make him give up this absurd idea?
In a film based on the outskirts of Kedora, a sandstorm hit while they were shooting a scene between the male and female leads. The rolling yellow sand created a desolate effect without the need for a wind machine.
So, the director temporarily asked the screenwriter to add a scene on the spot, using the sandstorm to create a stunning visual.
The screenwriter, a top talent in the industry, was inspired by the flying sand and quickly typed out the additional scene in just ten minutes.
The director, almost unable to open his eyes due to the wind and sand, squinted at the text on the computer and excitedly clapped his hands, "Quick, print it out and give it to the lead actors."
The printed script was delivered to the lead actors. Patrick had just finished a set of shots and returned to the dressing room when Ulysses hurried in with the script.
"Patrick, the director added a scene. Cindy, please give Patrick a battle-damage makeup." Ulysses handed the script to Patrick and instructed Cindy, who was playing on her phone.
She had been on set for a few days, and besides doing Patrick's makeup, she spent her time playing games on her phone.
She glanced out the window at the strong wind, "The weather is so bad, and your director still wants to continue shooting?"
"Yeah, the director is a film fanatic. It's rare to encounter such extreme weather, so he definitely wants to capture some footage. Cindy, hurry up. The wind will get stronger, and if we miss the best shooting time, the director will be upset," Ulysses reminded her.
Cindy had no choice but to put down her phone, walk to the makeup table, glance at the script, and start applying battle-damage makeup to Patrick.
In the movie, Patrick played an undercover agent with a mission to protect the country, delivering an enemy's defense map to the front line while outsmarting and out- fighting the enemies along the way.
Cindy leaned against the makeup table, holding an eyeshadow palette in one hand and an eyeshadow brush in the other, quickly applying makeup to Patrick's face.
Patrick watched her quietly, a dark look in his eyes, and spoke in a low voice, "How have you been enjoying your time on set these past two days?"
His tone was quite displeased.
Cindy glanced at him lazily, "Your schedule is so packed every day. How would I have time to play?"
"Really? You seem to be having a lot of fun." The air conditioning in the dressing room was on full blast, but it couldn't match the chill emanating from Patrick.
For the past two days, while Patrick was filming, Cindy got bored playing games in the dressing room and went to the second unit to hang out.
The second male lead, Vincent Bailey, was a particularly amusing person and often played games with Cindy.
Cindy often got so engrossed in playing games with Vincent that she forgot her duties until Ulysses came to find her, reminding her that she was a makeup artist.
Cindy felt the invisible pressure emanating from Patrick but didn't care, "You mean Vincent? He's really funny. He exploits every hero's weakness in War of the Future to the fullest."
Patrick glanced at her coldly, and the atmosphere grew increasingly awkward. Ulysses, sensing the tension, said, "Cindy, stop chatting. The director is urging us in the group chat."
Cindy shrugged and quickly finished Patrick's makeup. The costume team came over to pick out a new outfit for him.
Patrick put on the military uniform, and with the battle-damage makeup, he looked like a warrior who had just come through a hail of bullets, exuding a sense of desolation.
Patrick strode towards the dressing room door. Ulysses had already opened it, and the wind and sand outside were getting stronger, with yellow sand swirling everywhere.
Patrick paused, looked back at Cindy, and mouthed, "I'll deal with you when I get back."
Then he plunged into the yellow sand, his back exuding a tragic heroism. Cindy's brow furrowed slightly, and she felt an inexplicable unease.
Cindy put down her makeup tools, and the wind made the chandelier sway. She picked up her phone to check the weather forecast.
The meteorological bureau had just issued a red alert for the sandstorm, indicating that the sandstorm would get worse. Listening to the sharp wind outside, she couldn't focus on her game.
Cindy slowly walked to the window, looking at the dim sky outside, with sand mixed in the wind, reducing visibility. In such conditions, even the cameras could be blown away, yet the director insisted on continuing the shoot. He truly lived up to his reputation as a film fanatic.
Cindy stood by the window for a while, then turned to walk outside.
