Chapter 466
Casper's face was taut with anger, his jaw muscles twitching involuntarily. His dark eyes, narrowed to slits, exuded a ferocity that could swallow all darkness. Whoever was behind this, anyone responsible for what happened to Eliza, would face his wrath. The next day, Casper had been waiting at the hospital for hours before Dillon finally showed up. Dillon's heavy steps and furrowed brow hinted at bad news.
"Mr. Casper, we have a lead," Dillon said, his voice tinged with urgency.
"Spill it," Casper demanded, his gaze intense.
Dillon nodded and quickly relayed the findings. "The juice was delivered from the restaurant, but not by them directly."
Casper's eyes sharpened. "Explain."
"The juice was sent by a customer, under the name Mr. Aaron."novelbin
Casper's brow furrowed. "Aaron? Has he been to that restaurant?"
Dillon shook his head. "The front desk said a woman gave Mr. Aaron's name."
"I reviewed the restaurant's surveillance footage. It was Ms. Susan who delivered those two glasses of juice. I watched closely-she definitely put something in the juice. I suspect it's the same hallucinogen found in Ms. Eliza's blood." Casper clenched his fists. Susan. She must have a death wish.
"Her audacity, daring to harm one of mine," he growled, slamming his hand on the bedside table. The force yanked the IV needle from his hand, blood instantly staining his skin.
Dillon, alarmed, grabbed Casper's hand. "Mr. Casper, please, calm down."
He called for a nurse to reinsert the IV, then continued. "She used Mr Aaron's name. Could it mean she's met him, maybe even made a deal with him?"
Aaron hadn't been out long, and with his vengeful nature, it made sense he'd use Susan. And Susan, driven by jealousy toward Eliza...
"Mr. Casper, I believe Aaron provided the hallucinogen to Ms. Susan, specifically to target Eliza."
Casper took a deep breath, his mind racing. Aaron was the puppet master behind this.
It was time to settle things with Aaron once and for all.
Casper yanked out the newly inserted IV and got out of bed. "We're going to Falconridge," he declared, his voice leaving no room for argument.
"Mr. Casper, you're still unwell. You need more tests. Please, don't rush..." Dillon tried to calm him.
But Casper wouldn't wait another second. They sped to Falconridge.
When they arrived, Aaron was in his backyard, leisurely brewing tea and watering flowers, completely at ease. He didn't seem surprised to see Casper.
Casper approached, stripped off his
expensive watch, and handed it to
Dillon. Then he balled his fist and punched Aaron square in the face. Aaron staggered back, hitting the ground.
Touching the blood at the corner of his mouth, Aaron sneered, "Mr. Casper, always so rash."
"Aaron, if you've got a problem with
me, face me. What kind of man goes after a woman?" Casper shouted, lifting Aaron by the collar. "She trusted you, and you betrayed her. You wanted her to suffer, to disappear? What kind of monster
ove
are you to do something so vile?"
