Chapter 595
"It's me."
His voice was low and tired, a warm breath brushing against her ear, sending a gentle shiver down her spine.
Eliza felt his breath on her skin, her small hand covering his larger one. "You're back?"
"Yeah, I'm back," he murmured, planting a soft kiss on her pale neck. "Tomorrow, we're heading home."
"Mhm," she replied quietly, like she was in a dream.
He gently turned her around, hands resting firmly on her shoulders. In the moonlight, she could see a faint scar on his forehead.
"Does it still hurt?" Her slender fingers gently traced the mark. "I was so scared... scared I'd never see you again."
"There's no way I'd ever leave you," he whispered, kissing her forehead lightly. "It was just a bump in the road, just stretched out our time apart a bit."
He pulled her closer, wrapping her in his arms. She could hear the strong, steady beat of his heart.
Her arms encircled his waist. "Casper, why did you block me? You barely reached out this past year. Were you...?"
"Absolutely not," he cut her off, knowing exactly where her thoughts were headed. "I had so many surgeries, and I wanted to get better fast so I could surprise you. I held back from contacting you. Then Minna took my phone and blocked everyone, including you." Alright, she thought. She believed him.
Her hand reached up to touch his face. The surgeries had been successful, and the scars on his hands and back had healed significantly.
She kissed his cheek, her eyes soft and glistening. "Did you miss me?"
"Missed you like crazy."
He drew her closer, their lips and tongues intertwining. The kiss traveled from her lips to her earlobe, growing more intense with each moment.
His large hand held her slender waist, pulling her snugly against him, making sure she felt every bit of his longing. A year's worth of yearning finally erupted into a passionate embrace...
By morning, when Eliza woke, Casper had already packed their bags. Dillon had sorted out their flight tickets too.

never come back.
A few hours later, the plane touched down at Falconridge Airport. Hand in hand, Casper and Eliza walked out of the terminal and into the car waiting to take them home. They made a quick stop at the old house to see Audrey and the little ones before heading back to Welton Estate.
Their own little world.
He carried her from the doorway, showering her with kisses all the way to the bedroom upstairs. Sunlight streamed in, casting a golden glow over them. "Casper, I need to tell you something," Eliza said, breathless from his kisses, her hand resting on his chest. "Have you heard about Dillon and your sister?"
"What's up with those two?" His lips didn't pause, continuing to trace lightly over her collarbone. Eliza panted softly, "They seemed to have been together, but I heard they broke up again. Are you going to check in on them?"
Casper paused, surprised. Together, then apart again?
Didn't seem like a big deal. Relationships were like that, a series of ups and downs.
"Let them figure it out."
Those matters, he decided to let them handle on their own. Right now, he had more pressing issues to address. His breath, full of

swept over her, consuming her entirely.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, surrendering to him completely. The heat between them was intense, almost overwhelming. Eventually, she melted beneath him...
Afterwards, he carried her to the bath. She nestled against him, playing with his fingers. "I haven't been back to Oak Falls in over a year..." "Thinking about going back to Oak Falls to work?" He kissed her hair gently.
"The school still has my job waiting," she said, her cheeks flushed as she looked up at him, unsure of what he thought.
Casper wanted her to stay in Falconridge. With their relationship finally on solid ground after so many ups and downs, he didn't want to be apart from her again. "The kids are still so young." Eliza understood what he meant.
