Chapter 0094
Her words had an Insulting effect on Amara, no matter how much she tried to ignore or block them out.
And Tobias, as usual, stood and watched the entire thing transpire.
Amara felt the small side of her that believed in him crack.
"And who said she's alone?"
The voice came from behind. To Tobias and his clique, it sounded unfamiliar, but to Amara, it was a very familiar voice.
She turned around, watching as Elijah, who was wearing a black suit, slowly made his way towards her.
When he reached her, he placed an arm around her waist and Amara, who was caught off guard, looked at him.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"
The question was directed at Tobias and his family.
Giselle, Fiona and Celestine all looked stunned to see Elijah. He was unbelievably handsome, someone out of Amara's league, they believed.
As for Tobias, he glared. He wasn't the least bit pleased to see the stranger's arm around Amara's waist.
"So?" He pressed when no one answered him. "Am I?"
"No, of course not." Giselle replied with a forced smile. "We were just having a friendly chat."
Elijah glanced down at Amara. When he noticed the surprise in her eyes, he gently tugged on her waist, urging her to play along just like he had played along back at the restaurant. "Are they friends of yours, Mara?"
Amara was a little surprised at his sudden use of a nick name. However, she soon shook her head. "Not at all."
"You...!" Giselle intended to raise her voice, but was silenced by a single glare from Elijah.
In seconds, his usual smile was back. "Since they aren't, shall we head in? I assume you've chatted enough with them."
Amara didn't hesitate to nod. "Y-yeah, let's do that."
With one final nasty stare in Giselle's direction, she turned around and walked off with Elijah, leaving Tobias fo goatee after them.
"Ha, that shameless thing," Giselle huffed. "It hasn't even been three months since your divorce, yet she's already going around the city with another man. Shameless!"
"Please don't think bad of Amara, mother," Celestine began, sounding like a saint. "Everyone's got to look for a way to survive. Perhaps, loving off men money, is Amara's way of surviving." "Oh Celestine, you're too innocent. I wish that thing can be more like you. Maybe then I'd be with a grandchild and Tobias would be happily-"
"Mother," Tobias finally spoke up. "That's enough please."
"But-"
"Enough. Rather than standing out here gossiping, I suggest you go get what you came for. This is a high class auction house, not some common neighborhood bar." Giselle was stunned to silence by her son's words. Not just Giselle, but also Fiona and Celestine.
Tobias However, did not seem to notice any of this and walked away, towards the auction room without saying another word, leaving
Celestine to stand alone in surprise.
Since when did that start? Tobias standing up for Amara?
She felt a squeeze in her chest.
It wasn't right. Tobias was meant to loathe Amara, not shut his mother down for her.
Something wasn't going according to plan. Something was stirring the entire equation and that something was Amara's sudden change in attitude.
She needed to do something. She needed to fix this equation before things got out of hand.
"Celestine," The feeling of Giselle's hand on her shoulder brought the younger woman out of her thought.
"Don't worry, I'll handle her." Giselle assured.
"What?"
"That little wench, I'll handle her. You just go.
urged and be with Tobias." She
urged and gently pushed Celestine
in the direction which Tobias had walked off in. "Go on."
Celestine hesitated, but knowing the type of things Giselle had done, she trusted the woman to keep to her words.
And besides, she didn't want to get the dirt on her hands. If things were to go South and Tobias finds out, the dirt shouldn't lead back to her. Ever.
Nodding, Celestine left in the direction Tobias had gone in. As soon as she was gone, Giselle fished out her phone and dialed someone's number. It rang for a few seconds before it was answered.
"Hello, Kashmir, I need you to do a
job for me, I'll pay you as much an
you want, as long as you get it done right She paused. "When do need it done? Tonight of course. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
There was another pause and then she smiled. "Alright. So, here's what you'll do."
