His Psycho Lover

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Margot did nothing but cry so Jace just decided to take her home. Phoenix also went home because Hailey called her. Dane also left so Zeus and I was the only ones left to finish the drink. I also had nothing to do while he was guarding the bar.

Besides I prefer Zeus to be left more than the two. For Jace, you cannot take anything good words but pure folly. Phoenix on the other side will answer you yes or no. Unlike Zeus who is serious even if he is a bit mischievous but seriousness is more predominant. I don’t even know why they say I’m most serious whereas for me it’s Zeus.

“She changed a lot,” Zeus said then drank and looked at me.

“She wanted what’s happening to her right now.”

“Don’t you feel sorry for her, or let’s say worried?”

“I didn’t tell her to be like that, Zeus. She chose to be like that. I maybe have a mistake because I didn’t listen to her. She has a choice to fix herself but she chose to be messed up.” I am no longer obligated to her now and I have no rights so I have nothing to please.

“Didn’t you miss her?” I look at Zeus who re-translated the wine. “I mean, c’mon, you live as a couple so it’s impossible you’re not making love? Didn’t you miss her being next to her in sleep, in sex?”

“Stop that lust of yours.” He laughed then handed me the glass I quickly drank.

“Don’t you love her anymore? As far as I know, you’re openly telling us you love her. What now?”

“Why do you ask so many questions? Do you want to catch it? Get her if you want.” He asks too much about Maggie. There was obviously lust for Maggie. Shamelessness does not seem to be a friend.

“Well, maybe if you don’t love her, I can say yes.” I stopped reaching for the glass because of what he said. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

“What the shit, Zeus, seriously?”

“You asked me, I answers directly. Nothing wrong with that, right?”

“You’re an ass.”

“I’ll be honest with you, Blaze, I like her the first time I met her in the office with Phoenix. You know my female types. A hot and erotic woman like Maggie.” I don’t know how to answer him but I feel like my blood is heating up for Zeus and I just want to punch him. He’s like a brother to me but now he’s going to tell me that he likes my wife? I mean, the time we thought we were still married.

“C’mon, don’t think too much, Blaze. I like her, yes, but that day I met her she openly immediately said that you were the one she wanted so my plan to rape her was thwarted.”

“Fuck you.” He laughed and tapped my shoulder.

“Jealous. Why don’t you just reconcile with her?”

“I can’t,” I answer directly.

“How long are you going to ignore her? Don’t you see, Blaze, she’s ruining her life. You’ve only been gone for a week but look what happened to her.”

“‘Zeus, don’t blame me for what’s happening to her. She liked it then not me.”

“No one is blaming you. All I’m saying is, even if you have a little pity or concern for her, show her again.”

“Are only her feelings important here? Not mine? Is she the only one with feelings, and I don’t? I’m also hurt here. It’s ok because I’m a man?”

Why is it unfair? When women get hurt, poor thing? And if a man, it’s ok because he’s a man. Can only women be hurt? Is it only women who are counted as hurt and then men are no longer included?

What are we, not human? Are our feelings are jokes? There is no right to be hurt because we are men? Can’t be weak? Can’t emote? No one even thinks that when we are hurt, it hurts even more than the woman feels. It is good that the woman is open to feelings so there is a lot of sympathies. And us? It’s hard to express because apart from being judged you have no right because you are a man.

It’s like you just want to shout ‘FUCK YOU ALL! IS THE MAN’S FEELING JOKE TO YOU?!’ But fuck, it becomes the mindset of everyone that of all men has no right to get hurt.

“What am I trying to say, Blaze, is reconcile with her.”

“When I’m ok.”

“When someone else with her.”

“Be with her, if you will.”

“You said yes.” I didn’t argue with Zeus until we were done and both went home. No one can understand my feelings either. A woman’s feelings are important to others. And even though they are my friends, I know that they sympathize with Maggie especially now that she’s is paying attention. I will still look bad in their eyes.

I sighed as I entered the condo. It’s been a week but I’m still not used to being alone. I’ve only been with her for a while but why do I feel like she’s been with me all my life and the extent of her absence from me.

I used to be alone. But ever since Maggie came into my life and suddenly disappeared it seems like half of my life has also disappeared. But no, I will not beg and I will not be the first to talk to her. I was used to not having her so I can also get used to not having her. She was no longer in my life before so I can handle my life again even without her. I am Blaze Gonzales and I can manage my life and handle things with or without Maggie Dela Merced.

I’ AM WITH the group for lunch. We had just returned from our respective meetings and decided to meet at a restaurant for lunch together. Margot is also here with Jace. I don’t know their real score but what we do know is that Jace is still secretly meeting Brianna—his ex that he ran away from the wedding. He still loves his ex but he can’t leave Margot because he feels sorry for her.

“Margot?” We looked at the man who called Margot. Jace’s face went frowned when he saw the man.

“Khairo?”

“I knew it’s you.” They approached each other and could no longer paint Jace’s face when the two kissed.

“What are you doing here? Who’s with you?”

“I’m waiting for Maggie.” I secretly clenched my fist at what he said. Who is Maggie he is referring to? “We have a lunch and she recommend me this place.” Then he looked at us. “And you’re with —?”

“Ow, This is Jace my boyfriend. His friends. Zeus, Blaze, Phoenix, and Dane. Business partner as well.” Everyone greeted him but I just nodded.

“He is Khairo.” Khairo what? It was as if I had heard his name. What is he to Maggie? Just friends or do they have something? “You said you’re going to meet Maggie?”

“Yeah.”

“When else did you meet, Maggie didn’t even tell me you were already here in the Philippines?”

“Three days ago. I didn’t recognize her because she change a lot. But she approached me first, so—– the rest is history.”

“I see, where’s your wife?” Is this idiot married? Then dating another woman? The fool smiled then shook his head.

“Ah, we’re divorced. We married in the USA so I filed for divorce there a day when Maggie left me.” Then he smiled. “When I realized that I want Maggie more than her.” The three idiots simply looked at me but I did not react. They all straightened up and their bright smiles meant only one thing. They are annoying they are fools.

“Ow, she’s here,” Maggie said. The idiot waved so we looked at Maggie. She walks towards us and smiles.

“I’m sorry, hon, I’m late.” Hon? She looks at us then smiles. “Ow, you’ve already met them.”

“Yeah, Margot’s bf and their friends.”

“Yeah, hi, everyone,” she greeted us but immediately looked at her stupid companion. “I’m hungry, shall we eat.”

“You can join us here if you want? The table is big.” I stared at Dane because of what she said.

“Hon?” the idiot calls Maggie and looks at Maggie as if asking if it’s ok. Can I hit him so she can find what he’s looking for?

“Thanks, Dane, but I want to have more time with my honey. I missed him, and we have a lot to talk about to clarify something, US, from the past, right hon?” she asked.

“Yeah, of course.” And stupid answered.

“So, shall we?”

“Yeah, sure, nice to meet you all.” And they leave us while holding each other hands. Their table is not far from us.

“Maggie’s ex?” Phoenix asked Margot but her eyes were staring at me.

“Yeah, Maggie used to be crazy with Khairo. Khairo was her world. She doesn’t care at all as long as Khairo’s with her. Ow, sorry Blaze, for being —-”

“That’s fine, we’re done, so she can date anyone,”

“Too bad. I thought I can be the one,” Zeus said so I glared at him.

“Maggie didn’t even tell me that Khairo was here in the Philippines and at least I would meet him.”

“Why is it important?” Jace asked annoyed.

“What I am saying is somehow Khairo also became close to me. He’s like a brother that I’ve ever had and I thought he ended with Maggie. Way back then they really loved each other not until Maggie found out that Khairo is married. That’s why Maggie went crazy especially because they broke up even though they loved each other so much.”

“Louder, Margot,” Phoenix looked at me. “So someone can hear you.”

“I don’t care,” I said then stood up.

“Where do you go?” Dane asked.

“I’m done and I have a meeting. See you in the office.” You are very insensitive Margot. You didn’t just hit the plate on the head. That’s why Jace hates you because you are too loud. I was even happier if you stabbed me with a fork than you say nonsense.
