Chapter 110
Moving Out
"Did you think you could keep such a touching secret from me forever? Or did you simply not intend to hide it, and it just wasn't time for me to know yet?"
"Did Lauren tell you?" Benjamin asked.
His eyes half-closed as he scrutinized her.
Harper didn't answer, but she didn't deny it either.
Harper said, "Benjamin, you think it's time for us to have a child, but Lauren can never have children because of you. How do you plan to make it up to her?" "That's between her and me. I'll handle it, and it won't interfere with us having children."
"It indeed is between you and her, but this matter will forever keep you two too close. I can't stand the idea of my husband and the father of my child being entangled with another woman. I can't endure life being disrupted over and over. Right now, it's just me facing this, but if we had a child, our child would grow up in this environment. I don't want my children to be psychologically twisted or to think that their parents are together just because of them."
Harper's expression was cold and severe, her delicate features exuding a calm detachment.
Benjamin's deep eyes suddenly tightened, his voice cold as he replied, "So after all is said and done, you're just determined not to have children?"
"Are you so eager to have a child? No matter what I say, you're insistent on it?"
Both held firm to their positions, unwilling to yield a step to the other.
Benjamin smirked coldly. "Harper, what do you think you can do to stop me?"
His implication was clear, and she involuntarily widened her eyes. Indeed, the decision to have a child was in his hands, and if he was determined to have one, she could not escape his plans. However, she was already pregnant, rendering his schemes pointless.
His words brought her to a stark realization.
Still looking him in the eyes, she said, "Benjamin, I think we both need to cool off. How about we live separately for a while starting tomorrow?"
"Live separately for a while?"
Benjamin focused intensely on those words.
"What do you mean by living separately for a while? What are you trying to do?"
"I don't want to do anything, and I just feel that continuing to live together won't make either of us happy. We each have our strong opinions on this matter, and it will just end in us parting ways unhappily. It might be better for us to think things over separately."NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
"I disagree."
Benjamin flatly refused.
Harper remained patient, devoid of any agitation. Since she had broached the subject, she was determined to achieve her goal. Otherwise, Benjamin would become suspicious eventually.
She pressed her lips together and said softly, "Benjamin, you might force me to carry a child, but once I get pregnant, I also have ways to not keep it. So, do you really think it's necessary to exhaust us both over a child?"
"Are you threatening me?"
Benjamin's face bore a calm expression, his tone devoid of emotion or anger, yet his eyes held a depth like thick ice shards, challenging anyone to look at for too long.
