Chapter 133
Run Away from Home
"I'm just swapping a few dishes," he said casually.
Harper frowned, "Benjamin, isn't it a bit excessive to do that? If you don't want to eat them, you can have the soup. But can you at least appreciate other people's efforts?"
"I didn't ask him to come here and cook for me. but he came uninvited. I've already indulged you by letting him in. Do you think I'd allow you to eat his food now?" "But I've already eaten it."
"Then so be it."
After Benjamin's remark, he shot a glance at Curtis, signaling him to hurry up.
Curtis cautiously glanced at Harper, then quickly replaced the dishes and left.
The atmosphere in the room became quiet and tense, but only for Harper. Benjamin remained composed, showing no emotion and just looking at her calmly. "Let's eat before it gets cold."
Harper narrowed her eyes, her tone cold. "I'm not hungry. You go ahead and enjoy your meal."
Then she turned and went back to the bedroom, making sure to lock the door behind her.
She had never seen Benjamin behave so unreasonably before, let alone resort to such childish antics as changing the dishes.
Setting aside whether it was appropriate to have Curtis, a top talent, do the delivery, just the thought itself was an immature one.
Harper was furious. After all, it took over an hour to cook those dishes, only to be wasted like this.
She felt that Benjamin was disrespecting her.
But then she thought of her unborn child again and immediately stopped herself from getting angrier by taking deep breaths to regain her composure.
In her heart, she silently said, "Baby, did you see that? That's your childish dad."
After that, Harper just stayed in the bedroom.
Benjamin, still recovering from his fever, had little appetite. He ate some soup and vegetables before setting aside his cutlery.
Glancing at the closed bedroom door, his handsome face remained calm, but there was a hint of coldness in his eyes, thinking, "Did she really like Frank's cooking that much?" He stayed in the living room, working on his computer.
After checking the time, he got up, walked to the bedroom door, and knocked on it lightly. "Harper, open the door."All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
He didn't get any response.
He tried again, this time with a threat. "Harper, if you don't open up, I'll kick the door down."
Harper still did not respond to him.
Frowning, he squinted slightly. "Harper, I haven't taken my medicine yet. Open up and let me get it, okay?"
He knocked a few more times, then suddenly the door was pulled open.
Harper, with an indifferent expression, didn't look at him and walked straight to the living room.
Benjamin was agitated and grabbed her wrist as he stared at her coldly. "Are you throwing a tantrum with me because I won't let you eat Frank's food?"
Harper turned to look at him, calmly replying, "I didn't say that. But if you want to think that way, I can't change your mind. After all, your heart is yours, and I can't control it." He chuckled coldly.
There was no humor in his deep eyes, but only biting sarcasm. "So now you're indirectly telling me that you're upset with me because of him? What now? Do you want to divorce me and get together with him?" Harper looked at him incredulously. "Benjamin, do you even know what you're saying? We've been married for a year, and I've always been loyal to you. I won't cheat, but since you don't love me, you shouldn't care who I'm friends with or what my circle is like. There's no point for you to do that, is there?"
Upon hearing that, Benjamin remained calm, but there seemed to be a storm brewing in his eyes. "So are you saying that you won't maintain a distance, nor would you set any boundaries with him?"
