I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 150

Get Out

Lauren used the excuse of seeing a psychologist to catch up with Benjamin at the Martin Group. After finally catching up to him, she followed him into the car.

Regarding her behavior, Benjamin remained expressionless.

Lauren bit her lip lightly and asked, "Benjamin, you don't seem happy. Did I upset you?"

Benjamin glanced at her indifferently, making Lauren feel a bit timid.

She gathered her courage and continued, "Benjamin, I didn't mean to bother you. I just wanted to share what the psychologist advised me after our session. He said my condition isn't permanent, and with consistent treatment, I'll get better."

"Okay." A low, hoarse tone from his throat.

Lauren's expression softened slightly at his response. She smiled, "Benjamin, what's wrong? You seem really upset. Is it because Harper wants a divorce?"

His brows furrowed slightly as he asked in a subdued tone, "Who told you that?"Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

There was a heavy hint of displeasure in his words, making Lauren unable to read his thoughts clearly. She hurriedly explained, "I just heard it from others, but I don't know if it's true or not." The coldness in Benjamin's face didn't dissipate.

Lauren bit her lip lightly and continued, "Benjamin, why is Harper so insistent on getting a divorce?"

"I don't know." He showed little interest in continuing this topic of conversation, simply saying, "Okay, Lauren, if there's nothing else, please get out of the car. I'm tired and want to go back." Lauren was slightly stunned, thinking, "Is he trying to chase me away?"

Feeling a bit aggrieved, Lauren maintained her composure but couldn't let it go. "Benjamin, did you fall in love with Harper, so you're upset about her wanting a divorce? But torturing yourself won't change her mind. After all, a girl would only be determined to leave if she fell in love with someone else. Otherwise, why hasn't she intended to leave this past year?"

"Are you done? Get out of the car."

His cold, piercing gaze swept over Lauren as if warning her to keep quiet.

Lauren dared not disobey his wishes and could only say, "Benjamin, I'm just worried about you."

But Benjamin had already closed his eyes, not intending to bother with her. Lauren bit her lip tightly, looking aggrieved, but in the end, she had no choice but to push open the car door and get off. Watching the car speed away the next moment, she felt terrible, blaming everything on Harper, believing it was all because of her.

Benjamin leaned back on the seat with his eyes closed, making no sound. Curtis was driving, occasionally glancing at him through the rearview mirror. Unable to resist any longer, he asked, "Mr. Martin, should I take you directly to Pineview Villa?"

His handsome face was gloomy and cold, and his eyes opened as he looked out the window. The perfect contours revealed a sword-like chilliness. He said, "Pull over. I'll drive myself. You can call it a day." Curtis was slightly stunned before nodding hastily. "Alright."

He immediately pulled over to the side of the road, got out of the car, and opened the rear door. Benjamin then took the driver's seat directly.

He squinted his eyes, staring ahead, his hand gripping the steering wheel as he drove silently. His expression was solemn, his brows furrowed tightly as if burdened with heavy thoughts.

After who knew how long, when he finally snapped out of it, he realized where the car had driven to.
