Chapter 75 People with Outstanding Talents are Annoying
Chapter 75 People with Outstanding Talents are Annoying
A few hours ago, Joey took Jane Dulce to the practice room. She asked the best music teacher in the
company to guide Jane in singing.
Jane had good talent in singing. Her music teacher had praised and favoured her. Joeysat aside
watching, she was also very satisfied.
While practicing, a cool girl came into the practice room, followed by three young and fashionable girls.
Joey asked the music teacher to take a break. Then she called Jane and four other girls to come over.
“Jane, four of them are the other members of the team, let me introduce to you.” Joey smiled and
looked at Jane said, “This is Jemma Turner.”
A girl with earrings smiled at Jane, but there was a bit of banter and disdain in her smile.
Joey introduced another two girls, named “Keira Khan” and “Joyce Barron”. Both were just like Jemma,
smiled perfunctorily with a hint of disdain for Jane in their eyes.
“This is Abby Hunter,” Jane introduced the last girl. Abby was the girl who came in alone. She also had
short hair just like Joey. She stood in a particularly casual posture, always with a faint smile on her
face.
Maybe it was because she was younger than Joey, she looked more beautiful and exuded a trace of
heroism.
“Hello, nice to meet you,” Abbyreached out to Jane with a faint smile.
“Hello,” Jane shook hands with Abby somewhat nervously, feeling a little closer to her.
Joey asked Jane to introduce herself again.
“Ms. Church, is Vivian okay? If it works, then I will ask her to come to company tomorrow for training,”
Jemma who looked smart asked Joey actively.
The team wanted to recruit new members. The day before yesterday, she brought her bestie to the
interview, and after the interview, she saw Joey was quite satisfied. She asked her bestie to go back
and wait for news. They were very anxious, so she can’t wait to ask Joey.
“Tell Vivian, she’s no need to come.” Joey said casually, “Now Jane has joined us, we are no longer to
recruit new members. Five of you will form a newly launched group and the name of group has been
confirmed which will be called Dreamgirls. You guys need to keep it up. Once the opportunity gets ripe,
company will show you to the audience.”
When hearing that her bestie was out of play, her heart felt cold and she turned her eyes on Jane. She
felt that Jane had taken her bestie’s opportunity, the look of disgust became more obvious.
“Well, you don’t have much time left, hurry up and practice.” Joey clapped her hands twice and asked
the music teacher to continue the class.
"Okay, now let’s all practice ‘As Free As A Dream’. This is a song you always had to sing at the
beginning of debut,” the music teacher said. After that, the music teacher led Jane and the others to
sing it lightly with the music score. Five of them sang together in a low voice and the chorus sounded
nice but couldn’t hear who was better or worse.
"Let's sing separately and I’ll correct you one by one. Joyce, you go first,” said the music teacher,
looking at Joyce.
When Joyce's solo, Jemma was pleased with herself, she was the best in singing. She would like to
show Jane her strength, preferably to make Jane ashamed of herself and leave the group voluntarily,
so that her bestie would have a chance.
When the first three members finished, the music teacher gave each of them suggestions on how to
work on their flawed areas.
When it was Jemma's turn, she cleared her throat and started to sing.
Her voice was good, explosive and easy to take in and out. She had studied vocal music for more than
10 years from school, and her voice was comfortable.
After she finished singing, everyone applauded for her, and Joey nodded in satisfaction.
"Not bad, a little more rounding in the transpositions and there will be no big problem," the music
teacher said while looking at Jemma with a smile.
Jemma was also felt very proud. When she returned to her place, she gave Jane a triumphant glance
and snorted slightly inconspicuously.
The reason why Jemma and the three of them looked down on Jane was that they think she was not
worthy of forming a group with them because of her ordinary dress and she came from small country
town. Also, she had taken away the seat of Jemma's bestie, so they did not have a good feeling
towards Jane at all.
Jemma was picking her nails while looking at Jane standing in the middle of the room. In her opinion,
her outstanding singing just now had crushed Jane, who was just a small rookie in front of her.
Jane held the microphone nervously. She glanced at the lyrics and slowly closed her eyes.
“Will you still care about me
My dearest friend
When I decided to let go everything
Go on the path to freedom……”
A melodious voice wafted out of Jane’s mouth. Her voice was not as hoarse as the original singer
Wang Feng. It was like a trickling stream flowing from a glacier, singing into to one's heart.
Everyone unwittingly revealed a smile on their faces, and the music teacher showed a look of surprise,
as if to say, "Can this song sing like that way?"
Jemma was slightly stunned when she heard Jane’s singing voice.
“When I have already said goodbye to yesterday
And headed for the future
I want to be free like a dream
Be tolerant like the earth
On this hard road of exile
Light up the light of life…”
Even at the climax, Jane didn't adopt Wang Feng's singing style while grinding her voice together. She
was still performing the song according to her own interpretation of it.
Jane sang into the realm of the song. She slowly opened her eyes and glanced at the lyrics. Her gaze
had a ring of faint light that made her eyes seem as radiant as stars.
Joey's eyes lit up, and from Jane's eyes, she seemed to see the sea and the stars.
“I want to be free like a free
Be tolerant like the earth
On this hard road of exile
Light up the light of life”
At the end of the song, everyone was immersed in Jane’s voice, because of Jane’s song, they
associated with a lot of things.
Jemma looked at Jane in a little dazed. She didn't expect Jane was able to sing so well. And Jane
hadn't received professional training before, so if it was really compared, Jemma sang better than
Jane.
But it was because of this that Jemma was even more shocked. With her foundation in music studies
more than 10 years, she could hear that Jane had not received any training before, and Jane's singing
was still unrefined. However, she was able to perform the song completely according to her own
understanding of it, and every line she sang contained her own feelings which was deeply moved.
The ability to reinterpret a song with one's own understanding and could move the listener was the
hardest and most important thing a singer can do. It was so important that it almost became a line of
demarcation between top singers and good singers. Jane was born with this talent, it had shocked
Jemma.
Apart from the shock, Jemma's heart was filled with jealousy. She knew that Jane was too talented.
"It is so good. You have strong own characteristics in your singing style and tone. This is a powerful
point to stand out among the singers. Get more practice and you will be even better," said the music
teacher with a smile to Jane. The music teacher had a premonition where this student he was teaching
right now will become a diva in the future.
"You guys continue to practice with the teacher. Jane, you come here for a while," Joey smiled as she
pulled Jane to the side.
This gave Jemma another heavy blow to her heart. Looking the way Joey was smiling and laughing in
her conversation with Jane, Joey was very satisfied with Jane!
Although they were a group, there still had primary and secondary role. Jemma had always wanted to
be the leader and lead singer of the Dreamgirls, and had always felt secure in getting the captaincy.
But now, Jemma had a strong sense of urgency that Jane was her strong competitor.
Joey did feel Jane had the potential, and had the idea to focus on training Jane to be the leader of the
girl group. Joey told Jane to work harder to meet the company's requirements as quickly as possible,
so that she can show Dreamgirls to the audience as soon as possible.
After a while, Joey let Jane practice.
Joey sat by the side-lines watching five of them practice, and her gaze stayed on Jane most the time.
This made Jemma in a bad mood and even more uncomfortable with Jane. She felt Jane was her rival
and always stole her show.
"Practice by yourselves, I'm going out," Joey answered a phone call and hurriedly walked out.
Jemma saw Joey go out and knew she wouldn't be back today. Joey had other artists under her and
the things that required her to deal and communicate with were not that simple.
Soon after Joey left, the music teacher also had to go and check on the other artists. Only left Jane and
the girls in the practice room.
Jane was still holding the lyric sheet and practising diligently as the music teacher had told her. She
was determined within herself to follow the path of entertainment.
Jemma, Joyce and Keira who were close to each other came together. They looked down on Jane and
were filled with jealousy and resentment towards her outstanding performance just now.
“I didn’t expect she can sing so well. I would have thought that she is just a bit prettier in looking,”
Keirasaid in a whisper as she stared at Jane.
"Pretty? Is she pretty? I don’t think so!" Jemma said in exasperation. Jemma had the best family
background among them and the other two looked up to her.
"That's right, where's pretty? It's far worse than three of us. She is just a bit better looking than
average." Joyce quickly said, "Jemma, look at Ms. Church’s attitude towards Jane just now, she seems
to pay more attention on Jane. Does Ms. Churchwant Jane to be the leader and ask us to act as a foil
to her? "
"Phew! Just her! Dream on!" Jemma said hatefully, "She deliberately fawn Ms. Church, pretend in front
of us and being so rampant when she first arrived. We need to give her some lessons. If not, she really
thinks she's the centre of the Dreamgirls?"
With that, Jemma stood up and three of them walked over to Jane while keeping a close eye on her.
"She's someone brought in by Ms. Church, I advise you not to do that," When they passed by, Abby
was flicking her guitar lightly and seemed to inadvertently remind them.
"Don’t you bother with my own affairs." Jemma said uncritically and walked with Keira them to the front Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
