CHAPTER 37
Chapter 37 Chapter 37 “Ugh!” Lisa groaned tiredly as she threw Xander off to the bed once she stepped into the hotel room where she had lodged earlier. A few minutes ago while she was still at the hospital, she had gotten a call from the bar that Xander was drunk and she had to go pick him up from there. Since the hotel was closest to the bar, she thought it wise to lodge there instead. “Do I have to babysit an adult? This is crazy,” Lisa whined tiredly as she threw herself beside him on the bed, trying to catch her breath. Bring him to the room was exhausting “Are you crazy? Why would you get so drunk? This is unlike you,” She sat up on the bed and cursed at Xander who was fast asleep on the bed. “Gosh! I wouldn’t have to be the one taking care of you if you didn’t mess your marriage up.” She rolled her eyes as she stood up from the bed, “I should really stop caring about you because you don’t deserve it. Not after what you did to my friend,” She huffed as she unbuttoned his shirt and helped him out of it “Hey! If you are going to be like this, then you better get yourself a wife,” She stood up and pointed her index finger at him angrily with a deep frown on her face. “Hmph! Not that I’ll support your union with any other woman, anyways. It’s Summer or no other woman,” She rolled her eyes again as she bent over and removed his shoes. Furthermore, she got rid of his socks and threw them on the bed. “You should be grateful that I’m around. Who knows maybe you would’ve passed the night there,” She rambled on. “Summer…” Lisa paused when she heard him whisper. “What’s that? Am I hallucinating now?” She muttered. “Summer Xander whispered the name again as he tossed on the bed. “Acting all pathetic now, huh? It was all your fault,” She slumped tiredly on the bed and ran her
fingers through her hair. go back to the hospital and I can’t leave you here all alone. This is so freaking annoying!” She cringed and gritted her teeth. “I need to go “Summer… Yes, Summer,” She muttered as she rose from the bed and rushed to the bedside table where she had left her phone earlier. “Baby girl, I’m sorry to bother you. Can you please come over to Wells hotel? It’s urgent’ She hesitated before sending the text to Summer, hoping for a positive reply from her. “Where is his phone?” She was still waiting for Summer’s text when she realized she hadn’t checked Xander’s phone to be sure it was with him. She dialed his number with her phone, and fortunately, heard it ringing faintly on the bed. ‘Ms. pepper’ She huffed when she saw the name which he saved her number with. “Me? Ms. Pepper? Wow!” She huffed again. “I’m not that bad, right? Why would he save my huber like that?” She gritted her teeth, but loosened up when she looked at the screen of her phone. Chapter 37 “Brother Chaos’ A sly smile played on her lips when she saw what she saved his number with. “We are even now, I think,” She dropped his phone on the bedside table. Her phone beeped and a text popped on the screen. “Alright, I’m close to the place. I’ll just drop by Summer’s text came in. A few minutes later, Lisa’s phone started to ring with Summer’s named displayed on the screen. She quickly swiped the answer button and held the phone to her ear. “I’m here. Where are you?” “Room 103 on the second floor,” “Alright. I’ll meet you there.” The call ended afterwards, and Lisa stood up. Five minutes passed before Summer finally showed up. “What happened? Is everything alright? Summer asked worriedly as she walked up to Lisa who was standing along the hallway. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“Yeah, not that. I’m sony for calling you out by this time of the— “It’s fine. I was close by, anyway. So, what’s up? Are you good? Summer raised her eyebrows worriedly as she checked her out. “Yes, I’m fine. It’s about Xander. I know this is not right, but I don’t really know any other person to reach out to…” Lisa paused then bit her lip and continued. “The thing is, Xander got drunk and I brought him here, I can’t leave him to stay here alone, so I was thinking if you can please stay here because I have something to deal with,” Summer felt like a burden had just been lifted off her shoulders upon hearing that. She had been disturbed, thinking Xander was taken away by a random person, so it was a relief that the random woman she thought about was Lisa. “I know this is difficult, but just this once, please, Lisa held her hand and pouted her lips pleadingly, but what she didn’t know was the fact that Summer was excited about this. It’s crazy how she desperately wanted to spend time with Xander. Maybe it’s because she had missed him so much. “Uhm..” Summer paused, doing everything she could, to restrain this smile that was trying to force its way to her face. “Please don’t say no,” Lisa whined. “Fine! I will do it,” “Thank you so much, sweetheart. You are such a darling life saver. I will forever be grateful. Thank you for this favour,” Lisa whined as she hugged her briefly and pulled away. “Come in,” Lisa pushed the door open and led her inside. “Xander can be annoying when he’s drunk, but I’m sure you can handle him,” Lisa uttered hurriedly as she picked up her purse from the sofa and turned to Summer. “Thanks again for this. I will leave you two now. See you around later,” She kissed Summer’s cheek briefly before she hurried out of the room, leaving just the two of them inside.
