Chapter 204 Are You Insane?

Maggie hesitated for a moment, wanting to ask more questions.

But catching Nathael’s teasing glance, she realised he wasn’t going to tell her.

So meant

She frowned, her lips forming a slight pout of annoyance before reluctantly shifting her focus back to the

video.

“I noticed there are numerous close–ups of my face in this video. Will that be an issue? I was planning on recording another close–up video,” Maggie said, feeling uneasy.

Tll have someone edit it later to remove those parts. So if Sierra tries to misuse the video, you can release the complete one to prove yourself,” Nathael responded, his voice serious.

Maggie nodded. He indeed knew her intentions.

She had originally wanted to use another video with her face visible. She hadn’t thought about using video editing.

This way is better, she thought to herself.

“Staying over tonight?” Nathael asked.

Maggie hesitated for a moment.

She knew it.

Blinking her wide eyes at him, she couldn’t help but say, “I swear, you’re always trying to tempt me.”

“You got it right, Nathael replied, his lips curling into a mischievous grin, a hint of playfulness on his handsome face.

Maggie couldn’t resist pinching his cheek. After a moment’s thought, she decided to drop the act.

“I’ll go shower first.”

“Sure.”

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Beth stood on her bedroom balcony, frowning as she held her phone. “Who are you? What do you want?” NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

“It doesn’t matter who I am. What matters is that you know I’m here to help you,” the voice from the other end replied, sounding relaxed and cheerful, like chatting with an old friend.

However, it was obvious that it had been altered and wasn’t natural.

“Are you sure what you’re saying is true?”

Beth opened the latest message on her phone, clicked the link, and found photos, conversations, and transaction records.

“What are you after?” she asked in a cold tone, a glint of curiosity appearing in her eyes.

Just do what you think is right,” came the response.

Upon hearing this, Beth had already made her decision.

Switching topics, she asked again, “What else do you know?”

The other person chuckled softly. “You’re quite clever. Well, I know quite a bit too.”

“Such as?”

“Such as knowing that Maggie won’t stand a chance against you in the end.”

Hearing this, Beth was momentarily taken aback, a rush of excitement bubbling up inside her.

But she was well aware that she shouldn’t trust the words of an unknown person so easily.

“What are you trying to say?” Beth’s fingers tightened around the phone.

“Maybe one day, you’ll understand,” came the enigmatic response.

With that vague remark, the person on the other end simply smiled and ended the call.

Beth wanted to ask more questions, but there was only a busy signal on the other end.

Frowning, she reopened the link the person had sent her and studied it closely. A chill ran through her as

she read.

A few minutes later, Beth called Nathael.

Nathael had just finished showering when he noticed the call coming in. He furrowed his brows and quickly went to the table to answer the phone.

“What’s the matter?”

His low, strong voice made Beth’s heart race for no apparent reason.

“Nathael, do you remember two years ago, there was a woman who ended up on your bed in a hotel room somehow? You found out when you got back to your room, and you were really angry.”

Beth knew he wouldn’t appreciate any unnecessary talk, so she cut to the chase.

“What do you want to say?” Nathael’s eyes held a mysterious depth, his thoughts unclear.

“That woman is Nora Nelson. She is a decent college student. And it was Maggie who put her in your bed.”

Beth couldn’t hold back any longer, and as she spoke, she felt a rush of satisfaction.

“Maggie has been deceitful from the start. She and the Camerons are cut from the same cloth. She’s not genuine towards you at all. She doesn’t love you! Nathael, I’m telling you the truth!”

Beth’s tone grew more urgent as she spoke.

She truly envied Maggie and how special she seemed to be to him.

Precisely because of this, she detested her even more..

How dar she?

How dare she repeatedly scheme against him!

What right does that despicable woman have?

He was willing to indulge and adore her, but it was a blessing she didn’t appreciate!

She didn’t deserve his love at all!

“Are you done?” Nathael’s voice remained calm, showing no hint of emotion.

Beth hesitated for a moment before continuing, “I have evidence. I’ll send it to you! Nathael, you know me, I never make empty claims!”

Nathael’s voice remained steady as he replied, “Even if it’s true, what difference does it make?”

Beth opened her mouth, but no words came out. She never anticipated this response.

Nathael’s eyes were intense, his face cold and determined. “The fact that she’s willing to invest time in me shows that I mean something to her.”

Beth took a step back, her eyes welling with tears and her expression turning fierce.

“Nathael, are you…crazy?”

Hearing that, Nathael promptly ended the call. Just then, the content Beth sent also appeared.

Nathael stared at the link for a moment before finally giving in to curiosity and clicking on it.

The first thing he saw was several photos.

Though the angles were different, it was evident that two women were seated facing each other at a table by the window.

One side likely featured the woman Beth mentioned, Nora, while sitting across from her was none other than Maggie.

Nathael had some memory of Nora’s appearance since he had Alex investigate her before.

The initial photos mostly showed/Nora’s face, with only a glimpse of Maggie’s profile.

The later ones showed Maggie facing the camera while Nora had her back turned, but it was them both.

Nathael scrolled through the photos silently, his lips pressed together.

When Alex was investigating the matter, he discovered numerous ties to the Camerons.

Out of gestimule for the fure the Cameront had done for him he overlooked these minne incid

Perhaps there was also a subconscious fear driving him, as he decided to halt the investigation there and not delve any deeper.

But now it was time to face the inevitable.

Nathael slowly tapped on the video that followed the photos. Suddenly, the camera zoomed in, allowing the conversation and actions of the two women to be clearly heard.

“Do you think Mr. Harris is

Maggie slid a card across the table. “Dealing with someone as proud as him would not be easy, but just stick to the plan.

The woman accepted the card and nodded

Maggie added, “If you’re not willing, you can end the cooperation anytime. But once you step into that room, there’s no going back.”
