Chapter 214 Center Stage
Not long after, Sierra glimpsed a woman in a chic white dress popping up on the screen.
The dress was classy and simple, with one shoulder bared, giving a peek at a long, graceful neck that reminded Sierra of a swan.
Slap! Sierra’s hand slammed onto the dressing table, sending things nearby shaking.
The makeup artist and photographer hired by Sierra wisely stayed silent.
Sierra’s face darkened. Maggie was not wearing the dress that had been sent to the school for safekeeping!
Sierra could not believe Maggie’s luck in dodging this disaster.
If not, she would have seen Maggie embarrassing herself in front of everyone.
Feeling let down by the lack of drama, Sierra felt a pang of frustration, wondering why Maggie chose to switch dresses right before going on stage.
So infuriating!
Sierra reclined in her chair, coldly gazing at her phone as she watched Maggie stride to the center of the stage and speak into the microphone.
Sierra shrugged off Maggie’s dress change, knowing she had already arranged for her foundation to be swapped with a powder that would disfigure her.
Within twenty minutes, Maggie’s face would start to itch unbearably, followed by swelling and reddening. If she couldn’t resist scratching, it might even begin to ooze and bleed.
When the moment arrived, irrespective of her performance, she would only have the chance to charm others with her looks in her dreams once more!
Sierra laughed, thankful she had planned ahead and prepared; otherwise, Maggie might be able to avoid this again.
Maggie took to the stage, introducing herself, her school, and her participant number briefly.
Under the intense stage lights, she radiated an elegance and grace reminiscent of a fairy misplaced in the real world, strikingly beautiful.
Nathael, seated centrally in the audience, watched her intently, his eyes filled with a soft affection.
Soon after, Maggie moved towards the piano, an old black instrument that awaited her touch.
As she pressed the pedals and her slender fingers danced over the keys, the room filled with flowing music.
The piece she played. “Yearning,” was a calm and delicate melody.
It was an early work by the celebrated pianist Promis, marked by its clear, pure style that captured the warmth and naivety of youth.

Chapter 214 Center Stage
This composition told the story of a young man leaving home for his studies and his longing for his
mother.
Along his journey, the young man faced hardships and trials, and with each challenge, he gradually grew into the semblance of a man.
As he matured, his longing for his mother deepened even further.
As the music climaxed, it brimmed with overwhelming nostalgia, painting a picture of the young man rushing back to his hometown at sunset, transitioning into adulthood as his surroundings underwent significant changes.
After a long absence, he finally returned in his adulthood, eager to reunite with his mother.
Yet, despite wandering the familiar streets, he could not find her.
An elderly neighbor eventually told him his mother had passed away carlier that year, still waiting for him at the village church, hoping for his return.
In a haze, the man walked to the church where his mother had taken him as a child.
There, he sat alone for a long time until he found the money his mother had left for him through the priest, along with a poorly fitting garment she had sewn by hand. Overcome with emotion, he burst into
tears.
The intense warmth, yearning, and profound longing and hope in his heart suddenly ceased.
It was as if the harsh reality shattered his beautiful dreams, making every step feel like walking on shards of glass, the grief lingering and heart–wrenching.
At that moment, the stream of comments in the live broadcast surged, and the viewership hit its peak. within minutes.
Ah, her divine beauty is so captivating and she’s so good! I’m going to cry!‘
Why are tears streaming down my face? Are tears so cheap?‘
She’s so ethereal and beautiful, truly the epitome of the First Institute!”
Oh, Maggie, my beloved, my love for you is beyond words!‘
Let’s all support our goddess! I’m urging everyone to vote, so please cast your votes!‘
Honestly, Maggie’s talent far exceeds that of most contestants. She performs like a seasoned professional, and her beauty is unparalleled!”
Didn’t they say she doesn’t know how to play the piano? Was she merely pretending? Why did I hear that the Camerons never allowed her to learn?”
Am I the only one dazzled by the Pigeon Blood Ruby around her neck? It nearly blinded me, oh my goodness!
This jewelry set is insanely expensive. I’m so jealous. Does it belong to the Camerons? Who really is Maggie?

Chapter 214 Center Stage
I know it! A friend told me that Mr. Harris recently bought this jewelry for a staggering price!
Amidst a flurry of discussions, Maggie closed her eyes and lost herself completely in the music.
In fact, those not familiar with the piece’s background might wrongly think it expressed a longing for a
lover.
However, this was not the case. This composition indeed depicted the longing for a mother, the despair and regret of wanting to support but one’s parents who were not with them anymore.
The whole piece flowed smoothly, stirring up emotions and painting vivid scenes in the minds of the audience.
When the music stopped suddenly at the end, it showed a young man laying a bouquet of white roses on his mother’s tombstone at sunset, looking lonely and heartbroken.
After the music ended, the audience stayed quiet for a long time: some could not help but wipe away tears, and their eyes were full of deep feelings. Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
Maggie then gently lowered her hands, took a moment to collect herself, and then stood up to give a deep bow to the stage.
That snapped everyone back to reality, and the applause came crashing down like a tidal wave.
Maggie played effortlessly, nailing her performance.
Looking up, she made eye contact with a man in the audience.
Amid the crowd, she spotted him easily. He wore a sharp navy blue suit and gave her a gentle smile.
In his hand, he held a small, easily visible support card.
It said, ‘First Institute, go for the win!”
It was a bit cheesy but kind of sweet too.
Even though it was just the first round of the preliminaries, personal support cards were pretty rare, usually just from school groups.
So, when Maggie saw Nathael waving his support card for her, she was a bit surprised.
Nathael, however, seemed totally chill, casually waving the card with its attached plastic stick her way.
Seeing this, Maggie broke into a smile that lit up the room like the first light of dawn or spring flowers suddenly blooming.
Her smile set off a wave of cheers from the audience, with some of the more enthusiastic guys nearly jumping out of their seats.
Nathael caught this reaction and could not help but frown a little.
While he was happy about her popularity, the attention she was getting at that moment stirred up a bit of jealousy.
