Chapter 1002: Master Tam Injured
A tall figure wrapped her tightly in his arms from behind, stopping her from unleashing her powers. "Tina, don't hurt yourself."
Tina froze for a second, then quickly retracted her hand and grabbed the man in front of her. "Uncle, are you hurt?"
Jared was just about to respond when a loud "Ouch!" came from behind.
"You little brat! Now that you've got a man, have you forgotten about your master? I almost got an internal injury from that hellish thing, but you don't seem to care about me at all!"
Jimmy was the first to rush in. Seeing the scene in front of him, his chest tightened with jealousy, and his frustration almost blew the roof off. "Serena, how could you be so biased? Do our lives combined still mean less to you than his?"
The rest of the brothers followed closely. The sight of Serena clinging to Jared, so concerned about him, stabbed their already wounded hearts.
It wasn't just a stab-it was a deep, brutal slash.
Far worse than the physical injuries they'd just endured.
Their Serena-how could she fall for this man?
"Serena, my hand is injured. Come and take a look," Tristan teased, unable to resist.
Philip immediately chimed in, "What's there to look at? If anyone deserves attention, it's me! You call that a wound? I almost coughed up blood just now, but did you hear me complain?"
Damian sighed dramatically. "Serena, my heart's racing. Could this be... the end for me?"
The others turned to him. "...You win."
Dexter's face darkened. "Are you all seriously bickering? A minor barrier almost had you down, nearly getting Serena hurt in the process. And now you have the nerve to show off in front of her?"
Tina's eye twitched as she glanced at the group behind her, then turned her sharp gaze to Master Tam, who was watching the chaos with a smirk.
Her meaning was clear: if he hadn't brought this group here, she wouldn't believe it.
Master Tam laughed sheepishly. The man who had just been crying out in pain now stood perfectly straight, his face adorned with his usual ingratiating smile.
"Both the palm and the back of the hand are flesh. I brought them here to broaden their horizons! After all, we're all family. You can't hog all the credit and leave us out of the fun, can you?"
Tina: "..."
Did they think this was some kind of treasure hunt?
Sensing Serena's growing anger, Gavin quickly spoke up to defend their master. "Serena, don't blame Master. We insisted on coming. He just gave us a heads-up, nothing more. Really!"
Master Tam's mouth twitched.
What kind of disciples had he raised? They never thought of him when there was glory to be had, but they were lightning-quick to abandon him when it came time to take responsibility.
The others chimed in to back Gavin up. "Exactly! Serena, this is such a big deal, and you didn't even tell us. Do you see us as outsiders? Even if we're not that strong, we could still help out, right?"
Master Tam: Fine, you're all family. I'm the outsider. Happy now?
Tina, having confirmed that her Uncle wasn't injured, finally relaxed and tuned into the group's conversation. Noticing that Hayden was absent from the crowd, her gaze darkened slightly.
Jared, understanding what she was worried about, leaned close and whispered in her ear, "Don't worry. Nathan has already taken people to find Hugo and the others. Zackary has been escorted to the Warren family."
Tina looked up in surprise, meeting her Uncle's composed and reassuring gaze. She let out a breath of relief.
Thank goodness Uncle was here. Hugo and Jennie were important to her. If anything had happened to them, she wouldn't have been able to bear it.
As the two exchanged glances, a cold laugh suddenly broke the silence.
The amplified voice echoed above everyone's heads. "Perfect timing. So much power gathered here-just enough to activate the Jade Armour."
Everyone froze, their gazes snapping toward the source of the voice.
But no one had noticed the figure before now. Their attention had been entirely on Serena.
One look was all it took for the group to wrinkle their brows and dismiss the person. "Master, didn't you say we were coming to see a monster? This person just looks a little ugly. That's not exactly monstrous."
"Yeah, Master, you didn't trick us into coming here, did you?"
"Does this person even require Serena? Any one of us could take them down."
Master Tam narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharpening. "Are you... Claudia?"
Claudia sneered at him. "You old fool. You think bringing a bunch of nobodies will be enough to stop me? Laughable."
Old?
Master Tam stared at Claudia's face for a long moment before responding, "Well now,
if we're talking about old, you've got me beat by a mile!"
Claudia's expression darkened. "What did you say?"
Master Tam stroked his beard, his eyes clear but his words deliberately provocative.
"I won't claim to be young, but if that's your real face, then you must be centuries older than me. In the presence of an ancient creature like you, I wouldn't dare call myself old."
"How dare you mock my face? Seems like you have a death wish."
Claudia's long, narrow eyes flashed with a chilling light as she struck out with nine- tenths of her strength.
Master Tam's expression turned serious as he countered with his internal energy. After a few exchanges, they appeared evenly matched.
But the earlier internal injury had taken its toll. If the fight continued, he wouldn't last long.
Claudia seemed to realize this, increasing her strength to ten-tenths in an attempt to kill him.
Tina gathered energy in her palm, but Jared moved faster, using his tenth-tier powers to block Claudia's attack.
Claudia smirked coldly, using her abilities to restrain Jared.
In a flash, she teleported in front of Master Tam and struck his chest with a powerful blow.
Anyone who dared insult her deserved to die.
Master Tam couldn't dodge in time. Blood sprayed from his mouth.
"Master!"
The brothers rushed forward, catching the injured Master Tam.
Tina's expression darkened as she quickly fed him medicine and used her internal energy to protect his heart.
She should have guessed-breaking through the barrier wouldn't come without a price.
Her Uncle was unharmed, which meant the injury had to be... her master's.noveldrama
"How dare you hurt my master! I'll kill you!"
Gavin, unwilling to accept defeat, charged at Claudia with a raised fist. But before he
got close, an invisible force hit him, sending him flying. If Dexter hadn't caught him, he would've slammed into the wall.
Wesley clenched his fists and was about to step in when Dexter stopped him with a sharp look.
"Wesley, don't act recklessly. Something's off about her."
When Gavin had attacked, Dexter hadn't even seen Claudia move. That alone showed her power. She didn't see them as threats at all.
Even with their master's strength, the earlier fight had ended in a draw. If they tried to intervene, they'd only get hurt.
Liam growled in frustration. "Dexter, we can't just let this go. She hurt Master and Gavin. I can't stand it!"
Tristan stood up as well, his eyes filled with murderous intent. "Exactly. She dared to harm Master-she'll pay for it!"
What do you think?
