Chapter 815: Tina’s Smile, Life Unpredictable
From the moment Kelly stepped into the room, she found Ella Bailey intolerable.
If Kelly had made such remarks, Victor would have already rebuked her harshly. But now, Victor's face showed only displeasure, with no sign of anger.
Unconvinced, Kelly took two steps forward. "Ella, what you're saying is wrong. Even if the judgment is passed today, couldn't Elsa and the others just issue a letter of understanding?"
Rubbing her eyes, she turned to Victor with reddened eyes. "Dad, look, if Uncle Phil goes to jail, what will happen to this family?"
Tears began to stream down her face. "Ella, please help us. If something happens to the Bailey family because of this, it won't benefit you either."
Her performance was so convincing that Ella Bailey almost wanted to applaud.
Just as Ella was about to retort that Kelly might leave her brain at the door, but it didn't mean Ella would, Luke Gill, who had been treated and declared fine by the Bailey family doctor, was helped into the room. "Dad, maybe we shouldn't trouble Ella anymore," Luke said. "After all, she hasn't seen the Farrell family in years, and now suddenly showing up for something like this might not go over well."
Vivienne covered her face, crying bitterly. "What's so bad about it? The Farrell family is her maternal grandparents' family. For so many years, they've ignored Ella. Can't she at least fulfill this one small request?" "Vivienne, do you have no shame?!" Ella Bailey couldn't hold back any longer. She sprang out of bed, her voice sharp and cutting. "Do you not know why the Farrell family has ignored me all these years? If it weren't for you, a shameless homewrecker, seducing my father and ruining his relationship with my mother, would they even have forgotten I existed?"
"And now you want me to help you save your brother? You're like a toad crawling onto someone's foot-not biting, but thoroughly disgusting!"
Clearly enraged, Ella Bailey ignored Luke Gill's attempts to calm her down and shouted loud enough for everyone outside to hear. "Do you even know your place? If you're so capable, why don't you go kneel before the Farrell family yourself and pressure Logan? See if he doesn't kick you out!"
"Ella Bailey!"
Victor's face turned beet red as he held his sobbing wife, caught between anger and heartbreak.
He glared at Ella Bailey, his voice booming. "Do you have any decency left? She's your stepmother! Did all the manners I taught you get eaten by dogs?!"
Victor didn't give Ella Bailey a chance to respond. Pointing to the screen where Tina's image was still displayed, he declared, "Let me make this clear. You will go to the Farrell family. Whether you're willing or not, you're going! And if you can't bring back results, don't even think about being the Bailey family's heir!"
With that, Victor stormed out of Ella Bailey's courtyard, taking the gleeful Kelly with him.
By the time Ella's servants chased after them, the family of three had already disappeared, leaving only the trembling maids in the yard.
Furious, Ella Bailey kicked at the ground, grabbed a porcelain vase, and smashed it to the floor with a loud crash. Her voice echoed through the air, seething with rage. "Who cares about being the Bailey family heir?!" "No, you care."
Luke Gill followed her out, grabbing her arm and blocking her attempts to strike him as he pulled her back into the house.
As they walked, he continued to persuade her. "Do you really want to watch Vivienne and her daughter take what's rightfully yours? Don't forget, half of the Bailey family belongs to you."
"And besides, your mother is still in Victor's hands. Don't you want to save her?"
Ella Bailey instinctively replied, "Didn't you say you'd help me?"
"I will help you, but I need more power to do so." Luke Gill's voice caught briefly before he continued, "If we join forces and you take your place as head of the Bailey family, things will become much easier."
Ella Bailey hesitated for a moment, her resistance weakening.
The two of them re-entered the bedroom. The disheveled bed still held the tablet, faithfully streaming the court proceedings.
In the courtroom, evidence was presented one by one. The judge began delivering the verdict.
"...Phil Walker is sentenced to twelve years in prison, with a two-month suspension. Jasmine Ogden is sentenced to eight years in prison for attempted murder, effective immediately. Additionally, Phil Walker must issue a public apology to Joseph Dyers and explain the events behind the incident..."
Tina watched the proceedings, her expression unreadable.
Before leaving, she glanced at Kylie Lambert, who stood nearby, and suddenly smiled faintly.
In that moment, Kylie felt as if a predator had locked its gaze on her. A chill ran from her spine to the top of her head.
When she turned to look, Tina had already averted her gaze.
But for some reason, Kylie was certain that the chilling sensation had everything to do with Tina.
"Have all the materials been collected?" Tina asked Dexter as they exited the courtroom.
Dexter, dressed in the standard lawyer's attire, smiled. "Everything's been gathered and sent to your email."
Jared twirled his phone. "As you can see, they couldn't keep their composure."
Tina tilted her head slightly. "The battle isn't over yet, Uncle. We're still one step away from tearing this whole thing apart."
"But we can start pushing the plan forward."
As the group left the courthouse, Elsa suddenly exclaimed, "I've seen that Kylie Lambert before!"
Her words made everyone stop in their tracks. Even Pippa Ogden, who had been trailing behind, looked up at Elsa. Tina's eyes briefly lit with interest.
Glancing around, Tina patted Elsa on the shoulder. "Let's talk about it when we get back."
Then, she turned to Pippa Ogden. "As agreed, I'll have someone send you abroad in two days. Staying here isn't safe for you, and you won't have a stable life in this country."Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Pippa Ogden didn't protest. She wanted to leave this chaotic mess as soon as possible. Whether abroad or elsewhere, it didn't matter to her.
"And your living expenses will be sent to you regularly. Considering your good behavior today, if there's anyone you want to bring with you, you can."
Tina's mood seemed pleasant, and her tone toward Pippa was noticeably softer.
The unexpected offer-additional benefits not included in their original agreement-left Pippa Ogden stunned. For someone who cared little about anything, even she couldn't help but look up in surprise. After a moment of hesitation, she shook her head. "No, there's no one I want to bring. My grandparents, who loved me most, are already gone. Now, it's just me."
Her younger brother, Timmy, didn't even cross her mind.
This answer didn't surprise Tina or Jared.
Tina nodded, signaling Hayden to escort Pippa back to the villa. It wasn't safe for her to return to her family home in the next two days.
Although Pippa had been coerced into her actions, she had caused Mr. Dyers years of public disgrace. Tina had no intention of providing her additional protection.
Allowing Pippa to stay in her villa was already more generosity than she deserved.
