Chapter 168 Familiar Smell
"I have nothing but money!"
This sentence was undoubtedly a joke for ordinary people.
However, it was true for Henry.
Rosa looked at him in disbelief.
Immediately, a fake smile appeared on her peaceful face.
"Mr. Lewis, that's five years ago. Now, I don't need money. I don't even care if you give me your whole company!"
"I see... What should I do?"
He lowered his head, half of his body engulfed by darkness. No one could see his face or expression. Rosa could not guess what he was thinking.
But the silent atmosphere made her feel a little depressed.
"I'll sell myself to you then. I don't need money!" He raised his eyes and got close to her beautiful face, revealing a devilishly smile.
Rosa was stunned by his words for a few seconds.
Then, she ignored him and went downstairs.
Henry was not annoyed. He followed her downstairs.
Aunt Abbie and Luke were sitting on the sofa and talking. When they saw them coming downstairs, they were stunned.
That fast?
"Madam, the pasta is ready. Come and eat," Aunt Abbie quickly stepped forward and said.
"I'm good, Aunt Abbie. I'm going back. I'll get someone to bring these clothes over in a few days," Rosa said as she walked toward the door without waiting for Aunt Abbie to speak.
Aunt Abbie wanted to stop her, but she didn't expect Rosa to leave so quickly.
Henry followed closely behind.
Rosa stopped and frowned. "Why are you following me? Didn't I make it clear enough?"
Henry didn't care at all. With keys in his hand, he said with a faint smile, "Let's go. I'll take you home."
Rosa frowned and looked at him in amusement. She got irritated. "Don't you know I'm rejecting you?"
Henry looked at her and smiled. He seemed to like her very much and was not angry. He only spat out two words, "I don't know!"
Rosa was so angry that she lost her temper. She had no idea what this man was thinking.
"It's late. I'll send you back." He blocked her way and said bossily.
"You drank!" she refused.
With a smile on his lips, he was in a better mood all of a sudden. "So, you care about me? It's okay. The police don't dare to arrest me!" Rosa rolled her eyes and walked away. "But I'm afraid of death!"
He was not afraid of being caught, but she was too afraid of death to be in his car.
"Well, I'll take a taxi with you. We won't die!" He followed her to the door.
Rosa ignored him. The more he stuck to her, the more her heart began to waver.
She was not a cold-blooded animal. Just as Marlene said, what happened five years ago had nothing to do with him.
However, the person she wanted to target was his family.
Being together only meant they would involve many people, and she would be the one getting hurt.
She couldn't put him in a difficult position, stuck between her and his family.
Since that was the case, she did not want to get involved with her even if it killed her.
Thinking of this, she walked faster, but her ankle hurt even more.
She didn't like wearing high heels!
It was a residential area for the rich, so it was hard to get a taxi nearby.
She needed to walk a few kilometres away. After all, who would take a taxi if they could afford to live here?
Unless they came by taxi. At this time, no taxis were coming by.
Rosa walked down the hill in her heels.
"Does your foot hurt? I'll carry you!" He couldn't help but say as he watched her limping.
"No!" Without thinking, she refused directly.
"I'll help you with your bag. You look unsteady, and isn't it tiring to hold it?"
Rosa stopped. She turned her head to look at the man beside her, who was much taller than her. She thought that since he wanted to follow her, she might as well use him.
"Okay," she smiled and extended her bag toward him.
There was a smile in the man's dark eyes. He went forward, but he didn't grab her bag. Instead, he lifted her into the air.
The sudden feeling made Rosa subconsciously wrap her arms around his neck.
"What are you doing?" She frowned in confusion.
Henry looked down at her delicate eyelashes and spoke in a low, gentle, and grievance tone. "I am helping you with your bag! Like you said!" Rosa looked at the bag in her hand and watched him holding her.
She understood now. He picked her up, while she was holding a bag. Technically speaking, he was holding her bag.
"Henry, you are shameless! Put me down!" He was the same as five years ago, always finding reasons to take advantage of her.
A hint of hurt appeared in the man's smiling eyes, and his tone was very aggrieved. "Rosa, why are your morals? You can't play tricks like this. You agreed for me to help you with your bag, and now you're refusing me. So, do you want my help or not? Or are you just too shy to say you want it? What about what had happened in bed just now?"
Rosa's mouth was agape, and she was rendered speechless by his reasoning.
He stared at her quietly, neither annoyed nor in a hurry. His eyes were mysterious, making it impossible for people to see what was within them. Rosa felt a little guilty and did not dare to look directly into his star-like eyes.
She was afraid that she would be bewitched by them.
As a result, she cleared her throat and said, "If you don't think I am heavy, then carry me. Anyway, I don't have anything to lose."
He smiled as he said, "Good girl!"
Then, he held her in his arms and walked some distance.
"About that... I can walk on my own now. I'm not tired anymore..."
Even if she weighed more than 90 pounds, she was still a living person after all. It would be tiring to carry her for so long.
"I can't bear to put you down." He was indeed a little tired, and beads of sweat were dripping from his forehead. But even so, he still did not want to let go.
A honk sounded, and a taxi leaving the villa area appeared. It indicated to them its presence and asked if they wanted to take it.
Rosa quickly stretched out her hand and waved. The next second, she got off the man's body.
She was a little scared and didn't dare to raise her head. She groaned and said, "Thank you. You can go back. I'm leaving!"
As she spoke, she pulled open the back seat of the taxi, got in, and was about to close the door.
However, she found that she couldn't close the door as he had grabbed the handle.
The next second, he scurried in.
Rosa was pushed by him and forced to the other side of the back seat.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
"Sending you back."
"I already got a taxi. I can go back by myself!"
"That won't do. There has been news of taxi trafficking now. Last time, a taxi took a beautiful woman to the mountains..."
The taxi driver was speechless. He turned around and said, "Sir, I'm from a formal company!"
"The driver who was involved was also from a company."
The driver stopped talking.
He felt that the man's dark eyes were on him, like blades of ice, which made him uneasy and nervous.
This aura made him shut his mouth in fear, not daring to say another word.
"Henry, I believe that the driver is not a bad person."
Henry's thin lips curled into a smile, but he did not say anything. His phoenix-like eyes were filled with traces of evil. "Would a bad guy tell you they are bad? Do I look like the bad guy?"
The driver in front was ashamed. Henry did not look like a bad guy but a devil!
"Your face says you are evil!" Rosa turned her head and said.
"Uh... May I ask if you want to continue the journey? If you don't, I-I'm leaving." The driver thought it was awkward to be involved in these two's
bickering.
"Yes!" Rosa said.
"No!" Henry said.
The driver was confused, asking, "So, which is it?"
"What am I doing here if I don't need a ride?" Rosa stared at him.
"This is your home!"
"Mr. Driver, could I trouble you to send me back to the Eastcoast apartment on Warbler Road?" Rosa did not want to argue with Henry anymore, so she instructed the driver.
When the driver got the address, he stepped on the accelerator and started the car.
"You're staying at Eastcoast Apartment?"
"Yes, it's arranged by the company. It's very close to Quaductions." She looked out of the window and ignored him for a while.
Henry frowned and said, "It's a little far from here..."
"That's great..." she muttered.
"What did you say?" Henry leaned forward, and the smell of alcohol wafted over.
Rosa frowned and decided to explain to him about their relationship.
When she turned her head, she didn't expect to meet his lips...
He...Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
When did he get close to her?
The corners of Henry's mouth curled into a smile. He was very happy to get the kiss he was hoping for.
His left hand quickly grabbed the back of her head and pushed her closer to him, so he could kiss her better.
The other one hit the driver's seat in front of him. The driver didn't dare to look at it and drove in a well-behaved manner.
The kiss lasted for a long time, so long that she almost choked.
He let go of her just now.
"Familiar taste," he praised her. He touched his lips with his thumb and smiled, looking quite satisfied.
Rosa's lips were red and swollen, and her eyes were shooting daggers at him.
Shameless, despicable, obscene!
She glared at him.
However, Henry ignored them and acted coyly.
Rosa turned her head and looked out of the window. She was thinking that she would not go back to him no matter what happened!
Seeing that she was throwing a tantrum, Henry continued smiling.
She was still so adorable and petty.
"Beep, beep, beep..." A request for a video call appeared on his phone. Seeing this, he turned on his phone and picked up.
"Dad, when will you come back?" A kid's voice sounded in the silent car. Rosa quickly turned around and stared at his phone, her eyes fixed on it.
