Chapter 347

Chapter 347 The Rose Stamp Was Broken

Owen felt upset after he went back to his room.

Saul didn’t tell him the result of Roger’s interrogation.

But Owen could tell from his attitude that he must have found out something.

Owen took a deep breath and called Lucas.

At that time, Lucas was still working overtime at the police station, making arrangements for tomorrow’s escort of Roger. His voice was hoarse as he said, “Hello, buddy.”

Owen didn’t beat around the bush and asked, “Did Roger tell you anything?”

Lucas took a drag on his cigarette and exhaled the smoke rings to refresh himself. “I suppose so.”

“What do you mean by that?” Owen frowned.

Lucas pursed his lips and looked back. He then walked to the corridor and said in a low voice, “Saul went in alone during the interrogation. We were all outside and couldn’t hear anything.”

Owen frowned. “What? How could he do that?”

“Well, strictly speaking, that was not really an interrogation,” Lucas said. “I don’t know why the leaders allowed Saul to do so. Anyway, the surveillance camera and recording device were turned off because he said that it was about Traique’s confidential information and couldn’t be leaked. We can only see them but can’t hear anything.”

Owen squinted.

Lucas puffed out some smoke and continued, “I was not convinced at the beginning. After all, this is our territory. How could he refuse to let us hear the confession, right? So I asked someone to secretly put a camera in it, but it was thrown out by Saul.”

Speaking of this, Lucas felt depressed, especially when he thought of Saul’s glance at him when Saul threw the camera into his arms.

At that moment, Lucas was so embarrassed that he even wished the ground could open up and swallow him.

Owen frowned and asked in a low voice, “So what did you see? Did Saul hit him?”

“No,” Lucas responded. “We thought he was going to beat Roger up since he turned off the cameras. Unexpectedly, he just leaned against the desk without moving all the time. He simply used psychological tactics.”

Lucas continued to exclaim, “I’m utterly bewildered. It’s the first time that I’ve seen someone interrogate a criminal like this. Good for him! Later, I found out that Saul is not only a general of the air force but also a doctor of psychology from an internationally famous university. It’s said that he also has a master’s degree in management. How remarkable he is! He really brings honor to us. Otherwise, people will think that we soldiers are all simple-minded burly men.”

Owen didn’t say anything. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Lucas continued, “Oh, I don’t mean to irritate you. You’re also a straight-A student from a famous university, not inferior to Saul at all. Only I’m bad at studying.”

“A psychology doctor? No wonder,” Owen thought as he held the phone with a wry smile.

Tonight, he had just fallen into Lucas’s trap.

Knowing that he couldn’t get any useful information about the interrogation, Owen asked Lucas about the escorting of Roger tomorrow. After a brief explanation, Lucas asked, “Are you coming tomorrow?”

“Yes,” Owen responded. He wouldn’t feel easy unless he saw Roger being taken to the prison car with his own eyes.

Again, Owen didn’t have a good sleep this night.

He folded his hands under the back of his head and stared at the ceiling, thinking about what Saul had told him.

That guy said that he wanted to develop an intimate relationship with Hailey.

Clearly, he was declaring to compete with Owen.

Owen felt as if her heart had been thumped, and he was burning with indescribable anxiety. He had never been so unsure of himself.

It was not because he was afraid of Saul but because Owen knew how much Hailey valued friendship.

She had always been brave enough to love and hate, and she was always grateful and paid others back after she was helped. Saul had saved her life. It could be imagined that he had weighed a lot in her heart.

However, Owen didn’t even know whether or not he still meant to Hailey.

At the thought of this, he got flustered.

Owen turned on the lamp and took out the wooden hairpin from the drawer. Touching the roses by Hailey and the name “Hailey,” he could finally feel easy.

Now he found that it was the right decision he had ever made to replace replaced the hairpin for Hailey hairpin with an antique bowl back then.It was so worth it!

Although she was not by his side, he could feel that she was not so far away from him by looking at the hairpin.

In the past, he always thought that, as a man, he shouldn’t be trapped in love and cry for a woman.

However, the tough and gentle woman who had once given him the most sincere love and care was now like a small sun, becoming out of his reach.

Day by day, Hailey seemed to have become his obsession.

He tried to chase after her. Although he was getting closer and closer to her, but also seemed that they were getting. farther and farther away. She was always ahead, and he could not catch up with her no matter how hard he tried.

Unable to fall asleep, Owen got up again and wrote a third letter to Hailey.

He didn’t know why he had so much to tell her. After he picked up the pen, he couldn’t stop writing until the words were full of a few big pages, his hand hurt, and his fingertips turned red.

He didn’t know when Hailey would come back or when she would see these letters. He just hoped that she wouldn’t think he was crazy.

Thinking of this, Owen couldn’t help smiling. He took out the rose seal and breathed heavily on the bottom as if he was afraid that his name wouldn’t be clear enough.

However, when Owen picked up the seal, he saw some pieces on the paper.

Owen’s heart skipped a beat. He picked up the seal and found that seal was broken.

Owen stood up all of a sudden in a panic.

“Why…”

He whirled around, hesitating and burning with anxiety. Suddenly, he felt dizzy and a dull pain in his chest. He put the seal on his chest and closed his eyes.

“I must repair it! It will be repaired!”

The next morning, Owen was woken up by the alarm clock.

He rubbed his temples. Because he didn’t fall asleep until late last night, he was a little listless, but he managed to get up.

Today was the day when Roger was taken back to Traique. Owen had told Lucas to wait for him at the airport. When Owen was about to set off, his heart skipped a beat somehow, and she felt a strong sense of pain.

He opened the drawer and took two pills of anti-inflammatory drugs. Then he took out the wooden hairpin and put it in the pocket of his shirt.

As soon as he went out of his room, Brook and Saul also made their way out with their luggage.

The three met again at the elevator.

“Good morning,” Saul greeted.

Owen looked up from his suitcase to his face and nodded slightly. “Good morning.”

Since Saul was the person in charge of the escort, he would naturally go back to Traique with Roger.

“Owen, are you going to the airport too?” Brook asked when he met Owen. “Do you also know that Hailey is coming back by plane today?”

Owen’s eyes widened.

“What? Hailey is coming back today?”
