Chapter 3525 Controlling the Cursed Bug
Olexar fell silent.
No matter how resourceful he was, there seemed to be no way to break free from
this death trap.
"Sir, do I only have twelve hours left?" he asked, his gaze meeting Matthew's. Surprisingly, his expression was calm and composed.
"If I do nothing, then yes-you have twelve hours," Matthew replied.
"I suppose I should write a will—" Olexar started to say, intending to ask Matthew
to deliver a letter to Orla. But before he could finish, hope flickered in his eyes. "Wait... you can save me?"
Matthew nodded. "Indeed. I know a secret technique that can help you gain control over the cursed bug. If it works, it will no longer suppress your nerves. Instead, it can become a powerful ally."
"What do I need to do?" Olexar asked, his gaze unwavering with determination.
It wasn't death that frightened him—it was dying without purpose. Though his sister had grown strong enough to stand on her own, he couldn't leave her to face the world alone while he was still breathing, albeit barely.
"Just steady your breathing and focus. I'll guide you through the process."
Matthew placed his fingertips gently on Olexar's forehead. A calming sensation spread through his body, and Olexar involuntarily closed his eyes as his racing thoughts began to settle.
Carefully, Matthew channeled Olexar's mental power and life force, guiding both energies until they merged. Slowly, he directed them toward Olexar's hara-the core of his vitality.
Within Olexar's hara, a red, worm-like creature as thick as a human finger and nearly eight inches long coiled tightly within the flesh. It resembled a grotesque earthworm, but its presence radiated a sinister aura.
With precise control, Matthew manipulated Olexar's combined mental power and life force, enveloping the cursed bug in a suppressive hold.
"It's still asleep, so its resistance will be weak. You don't need to do anything-just stay conscious," Matthew instructed.
As if on cue, the cursed bug stirred within Olexar's core. Though its movements were sluggish, each struggle sent sharp, bone-deep pain coursing through his body.
Olexar's face turned pale from the
intense pain.Vet, as memories of his younger sister clinging to him as a child and the proud smile of his late father surfaced in his mind, he clenched his teeth tightly, refusing to give in. Blood seeped from the corners of his mouth as he bit down harder to endure the agony.
Three minutes passed, and blood began to trickle from his nostrils as well.
Five minutes in, his breaths came in ragged gasps as he fought to remain conscious, his vision swimming from the strain. Yet, the cursed bug's resistance gradually weakened.
Having fed on Olexar's blood for over a decade, the creature was accustomed to his life force, making it more susceptible to his control.
"It's done," Matthew announced calmly.
Olexar exhaled deeply in relief. His knees wobbled, and his vision darkened for a moment. Steadying himself against the wall, he tried to catch his breath.

"You lost a significant amount of life force white battling the cursed bug," Matthew explained. "That's why you're feeling weak. But it won't last long the bug is about to repay you."
Moments later, the world seemed tonoveldrama
brighten before Olexar's eyes.
Warmth surged through his veins newfound strength flooded his.
as
limbs His pale cheeks regained their color, and the haze of exhaustion lifted from his mind.
This was the cursed bug's act of fealty-returning the blood and vitality it had accumulated within itself now that it recognized Olexar as its master.
"I... I'm truly cured!
"Sir, words cannot express my gratitude. From this day forward, if you ever need my help-whether it's braving fire or crossing blades—I will not refuse!"
