Chapter 1332
After arriving at Knight Residence, Cade Knight first treated Skylar to some iced tea. Only after enjoying the tea did she proceed to examine the painting.
Cade was an avid collector of antique paintings and a good friend of Alexander. When Skylar returned from Jipsburg, Alexander had insisted she help Cade.
Although she hadn't worked much during her years in Murida, Alexander had introduced her to numerous opportunities.
Over time, word spread, and she had been busy with one job after another for several years. Her financial situation only got better.
Fortunately, the people she encountered were kind and generous. Most elders treated her like their own child, and she had never once mentioned her fees. They simply transferred money to her account without her asking.
Cade's painting was in deplorable condition. No wonder Alexander mentioned that several antique restorers had refused to take on the job.
Seeing the worried look on Skylar's face, Cade braced himself. "Given the extent of the damage, is there any chance for restoration? This is all my fault for not protecting it properly."
At his words, Skylar shifted her gaze from the painting. "The damage is indeed severe, and it will require considerable time for restoration—possibly around two months. If you're not in a hurry, I can take it back with me and return it once it's restored."
She knew that Cade had collected many antiquities abroad over the years and had sent them back to the museums in Jipsburg.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Skylar admired Cade's patriotism in preserving and donating cultural antiquities, so she had promised him beforehand that she wouldn't charge any fees for restoring this painting.
Cade's eyes lit up. "Can it be restored?"
He was genuinely fond of this painting. If it could be restored, that would be fantastic. Skylar nodded with a smile. "Yes, it can. Just be patient during the waiting period, Mr. Knight."
"I'm not in a rush. It doesn't matter when it's ready. Alexander mentioned you've been quite busy lately, so I'll be patient." Cade chuckled as he recalled Alexander's words.
After that, Skylar casually looked at some of Cade's other collectibles. After admiring them for about half an hour, Cade insisted on having her stay for lunch.
Lunch consisted of Floan cuisine.
Cade chuckled and said, "I've lived here for decades, but I still can't get used to the local food. Floan cuisine is definitely the best."
Skylar felt the same way. "I feel the same way, Mr. Knight. I have a taste for Floan cuisine."
After finishing lunch, she took the painting and left.
The traffic was relatively clear. As she passed a scenic lake, she decided to stop. She got out of the car and leaned against it, quietly enjoying the view.
Several families were camping and
grilling by the lake. A waft of
barbecue aroma reached her, and
she suddenly realized that she
hadn't gone camping or grilling with Joe yet.
When Joe regained his memories, she would ask him to take her and Gloria along. She had her sights set on this beautiful spot.
Lost in her thoughts, she was suddenly jolted by a noise. Someone had parked their car behind hers. Turning around, she glanced to see what was going on.
As she glanced back, a figure

stepped out of the car. When she recognized who it was, she was utterly astonished. For a moment she thought her eyes were deceiving her. She couldn't help but think, "Is this real?"
Joe was walking toward her, his long strides quickly closing the distance.
Once he was close, she finally snapped back to reality. It was indeed Joe. "What are you doing here?" Skylar asked, her surprise evident.
