My Gentle Wife is a Real Divine Being

Chapter 1040

“You should’ve told me last night.”

“I didn’t get the chance.”

Randy and Erica were on the verge of a full–blown argument when Debra interjected, ” Exactly, no time. Randy came back and passed out. How could he even bring up the wedding?”

Erica realized she had let something slip. She bolted in a panic.

“Erica!” Randy rushed after her.

They fought in the last second and made up in the next. Yet they were still hiding their relationship.

Before Debra could reflect further, Marion hugged her from behind. “The sun isn’t even up yet, and you’re here catching cheaters?”

Debra rolled her eyes. “Give me a break. I was trying to sleep, but the racket next door was too much.”

Until now, she hadn’t realized Randy could be so exhausting. In this aspect, he and Marion were evenly matched.

“Looks like we’ll need to live farther away from them,” he chuckled, ruffling Debra’s hair. Our wedding is half a month away. Are you ready to become my bride?”

“I’m always ready,” Debra replied, smiling at him. “Are you ready to be my groom?”

“It’s nothing,” he said, his gaze lingering on her lips.

Though his injury had kept him restrained for days, being close to Debra made self–control impossible.

Marion leaned in for another kiss. It was gentler but more consuming. novelbin

Debra melted under his touch, her body going weak. A moan escaped from her mouth,

shattering Marion’s last shred of restraint.

He murmured, “You’re such a temptress.”

Debra’s face turned a deeper shade of red, but before she could respond, Marion’s lips trailed down to her collarbone.

“By the way,” he said, “my grandpa said we’re not supposed to see each other the day before the wedding It’s a tradition.”

“Since when do you follow rules?” she teased.

“Never,” he admitted with a grin, “but this time, I want to.”

“Why? Afraid breaking the rules will bring bad luck?”

“Yes,” he said, surprisingly serious.

Debra blinked in surprise as he cupped her face gently. “I’m afraid if I break the rules, the heavens will punish me by taking you away. I don’t fear anything, except losing you. So just this once, I’ll be superstitious. Just this once.”

Debra’s heart softened. She laced her fingers with his and said, “Silly, I’m not going anywhere.
