My Gentle Wife is a Real Divine Being

Chapter 991

Inside the arcade, Garland strode up to the counter to exchange tokens.

The cashier’s eyes flickered to the stack of cash and the deck of credit cards. Then she couldn’t help but steal a glance at the casually dressed man.

“Here are your tokens, sir.”

Garland grabbed the four large buckets of game tokens, handing two over to Debra. With deliberate emphasis, he raised his voice. “It’s my treat today. Have fun!”

“Thank you, Mr. Eaton,” Debra replied, stressing her tone.

As they wandered over to one of the fishing machines, Garland leaned in and whispered, ” Are you sure this will work?”

“Yeah,” Debra whispered back. “Do you see anyone else in this arcade who would blow five thousand dollars on tokens without blinking? They’d be fools if they didn’t take the bait.”

But why does it have to be me footing the bill?”

“Because I didn’t bring any money.”

“What?”

“Besides, what kind of men would make the ladies pay at places like this? These people are drawn to rich male customers. Don’t be so stingy. This is all for investigation?”

Now Garland had no more excuses. After all, his family was a top clan owning assets worth over 500 billion dollars.

And he couldn’t just tell her that he was not Fermin, just a twenty–something who had been freeloading off his family’s wealth.

The most money he’d ever earned was the 50 million dollars paid by Debra, and he had been forced to turn it over the moment he returned home. The cash in his wallet was all

from Liza.

He made a mental note to have Juan reimburse him later. After all, Debra wasn’t his ex- wife. She was at best his boss. No employees covered their bosses‘ expenses.

Soon, the two of them were burning through tokens, drawing a growing crowd of onlookers. Among them was a man dressed in casual clothes.

When Garland’s latest attempt to reel in the big catch failed, the man sighed, “Man, you missed it again.

Garland glanced up and sulked, “If you’re so good, why don’t you give it a shot?”

The man chuckled, “Nah, these games are boring. I know something way more fun.

Interested in trying it out with your girlfriend?”

Garland’s face immediately twisted in annoyance. “What kind of eyes do you have? Where in the world did you get the idea that she’s…

“Sure,” Debra cut in smoothly. “I’m getting bored of this game anyway. What else do you have?” novelbin

Garland tried to protest, but she didn’t give him the chance. “Isn’t that right, honey?”

Her tone was sweet, but her look was sharp. It was the same look Juan used to give him whenever he screwed up a task.

Garland shivered. “If you say so, it must be good.”

“Perfect,” Debra said, standing up.

Over the past hour, she’d noticed a pattern in the arcade’s layout. The employees weren’t dressed in uniforms. Rather, they blended into the crowd, disguised as patrons.

Whenever they found any wealthy–looking customers, they’d guide them to the back rooms, where better games awaited.
