Janet nodded, holding back her tears.
Ernest was driving while looking in the rearview mirror and saw her delicate expression. Suddenly, he f
elt a little distressed.
He held the steering wheel with one hand and handed the milk tea to Janet, who was sitting in the pass
enger seat. He remembered that she liked this drink, so he stopped by to buy one, which was still warm
.
Janet looked at Ernest emotionally. Then, she drank almost half a cup and felt much warmer.
Seeing that her expression had eased a lot, Ernest asked,
“Where do you want to go? Your uncle’s house? I can’t leave you alone.”
The word “house” instantly pulled Janet back from the haze of divorce.
She looked into the night, and her eyes gradually turned cold.
“Take me back to my own place.”
“Also, don’t tell my uncle and cousins about my divorce just yet.”
Ten years ago, a car accident ruined her happy family.
Her father and brother died on the spot, and her mother became a vegetable.
Until now, her mother was still lying in the hospital, relying on various medical equipment to maintain he
r life every day.
Since then, all the
Longfellow family’s property had belonged to her aunt Mathilda Doherty and her uncle Conrad Doherty.
She was no longer the daughter of a wealthy family and became an orphan of the Longfellow family.
Moreover, she lost her memory after the car accident.
It was not until three years ago that she regained her memory and reunited with her uncle.
“Any plans for the future?” Ernest asked.
Janet fell silent for a few seconds and said, “In the past two years, I have been investigating my parent
s‘ car accident. Although I did not find many clues, I’m certain it was related to my aunt and uncle.”
She clenched her fingers, her unwilling eyes gleaming with determination.
“I want to find out the truth, take back everything that belongs to me, and let those who killed my parent
s get the punishment they deserve.”
Now that she had had enough, the time was just right. She was ready to go back and fight for everythi
ng she deserved!
Ernest kept driving and pursed his lips, feeling very distressed. “Do you need my help?” Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“No, I will come to you when I need your help.” Janet leaned back in the chair and closed her eyes. “Be
fore I go back, I will go
to the Civil Affairs Bureau with Nathaniel to divorce him.”
Ernest sent Janet back to the home she bought three years ago, and then left.
The house was very clean. Although she didn’t live there, a maid always came to clean it every week. J
anet changed a new set of
sheets and lay on the bed.
Everything in the past kept repeatedly replaying in her mind like a movie.
She had tried hard to hold back her tears, but now they streamed down her face for no reason.
Now, she couldn’t stop crying.
She seemed like she didn’t care about divorcing Nathaniel.
However, only she knew herself well. She had married Nathaniel for three years and loved him for ten.
Now, she had left him.
It would be a lie if she said she wasn’t sad.
Janet wiped away her tears. Then, she took the computer and erased all her information and traces in t
he Webster family.
Her eyes were full of pain, and she was also determined to end everything. She murmured, “Nathaniel,
from now on, I will never love you again…”
The next morning, Janet woke up at 7 am.
She washed up, ate breakfast, changed clothes, and put on delicate makeup.
Then, she sent Nathaniel a message and made an appointment for divorce.
As soon as she left the house, Ernest’s car stopped in front of her.
He sent her to the Civil Affairs Bureau, and when she got out of the car, Janet felt cold for no reason.
The chilly wind blew through Janet’s thin body, and she gathered the corners of her clothes.
“Don’t catch a cold.”
Ernest immediately took off his coat, stretched out, and draped it over Janet’s body from behind.
Janet rubbed her hands and smiled at him. “I’m lucky to have you around.”
At this time, another luxury car stopped at the entrance.
Janet and Ernest looked over.
Alfred Whitehead opened the door for Nathaniel, who got out of the car in a suit. He seemed aloof, and
his temperament was elegant and noble. His icy eyes almost made his elegance indifferent.
He also saw Janet. She was dressed very beautifully today. Her eyes were round, clear, and charming.
He also saw the handsome man beside Janet, and his deep eyes narrowed slightly.

He thought Janet wouldn’t come for a divorce, and she was making trouble yesterday. However, he did
n’t expect her to come and even brought a… boy toy.
Nathaniel might seem human, but everything he did was despicable.
Ernest narrowed his eyes, and his handsome face instantly turned cold. He wanted to quarrel when Ja
net stopped him.
“There are too many people here. Go back to the car. I will come out after I get divorced.”
Ernest was a celebrity. If someone recognized him, he would be in trouble.
Ernest stopped staring coldly at Nathaniel and smiled at Janet. “Okay, I’ll wait for you.”
Then, he went back to the car.
Nathaniel looked at them being intimate indifferently. A trace of displeasure flashed across his eyes wh
en he saw Ernest get on an expensive, limited–edition sports car.
She actually showed up with her lover without even getting divorced.
If someone else saw this, they must think he had been cheated on. It would ruin the company’s image.
“Janet, we’re not divorced yet. Mind your behaviors. I don’t want to be the protagonist of rumors.”
After speaking, he entered the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Janet realized that he was mocking her. Her heart ached suddenly, but she didn’t say anything and follo
wed him inside to get divorced.
In the office, Janet quickly scanned the agreement and signed it without hesitation.
Then, she looked at Nathaniel.
“Sign it.”
