Some couldn't bear to watch and turned their faces away.

A few sharper ones had already started pulling out their phones, looking for a way out.

What a joke an aesthetic clinic performing emergency surgery was already questionable. If someone died here ...

No matter how prestigious Micah's background was or how much backing he had from the Beacon Medical Research Department, there was no way he'd be able to keep going after something like that.

Just then, a doctor suddenly shouted, "Look! His heart rate is going up!"

"Impossible! That has to be the last-wait, what? The massive bleeding is stopped?"

"Now that you mention it, that girl was remarkably calm the whole time."

It took them a moment to fully process what had just happened. By the time the surgery was over, everyone had been rendered completely speechless.

It was flawless.

They couldn't even have performed a surgery to this level!

Rex rushed in just as the pure finished.

Charmaine removed her mask and stepped out of the operating room. Her scrubs were splattered with blood.

Rex stared at her in surprise. "Boss, you did the surgery yourself?"

"Yeah."

Rex couldn't wait another second. "Well? Is he still alive?"noveldrama

Charmaine shot him a look, then took off her contaminated surgical gown. After thoroughly disinfecting herself, she turned to Micah, who was drenched in sweat but radiating exhilaration.

Despite the grueling hours performing the surgery, Micah's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"The surgery was a success. With injuries this severe, the chances of survival without amputation were less than 5% but we pulled it off. That said, his brain suffered serious trauma. His life is no longer in danger, but whether or not he wakes up depends on him."

There was genuine admiration in his voice. "Operating with Master is on a whole different level. Every single movement was impossibly precise. The kind of skill you have must take tens of thousands of repetitions to master, right?"

Charmaine frowned slightly. "No, I've only assisted in a handful of major surgeries. I haven't practiced much at all."

"Master Field's rumored genius ... Wait, are you 'the' Robin?"

"Dr. Robin! My God, we had no idea it was you! Please forgive us for not recognizing you earlier!"

"Dr. Robin, I've admired you for so long! Seeing you perform surgery in person is truly an honor of a lifetime!"

Charmaine's lips twitched slightly. She lowered her voice. "You all are the real backbone of this hospital. Today was an unusual situation. I apologize for the disruption. I would also appreciate it if you could keep this matter confidential."

The doctors nodded immediately. "Of course. Dr. Robin has always been low-key. We won't say a word!"

"Right! Who would've thought that the legendary Dr. Robin was actually a young woman? If we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, we wouldn't have believed it!" Charmaine thanked them once again before stepping out into the hallway. Turning to Micah, she instructed, "I could only keep him alive. Whether he wakes up is up to him. I'll have to trouble you and your people to take care of him." Micah waved a hand dismissively. "He'll only take up a hospital room. It's no big deal."

Charmaine's eyes flickered. "It needs to be a discreet arrangement."

Micah chuckled. "Of course. The Nelsons are combing the city for Mr. Milo right now. Since we secretly saved him, there's no way I'd go around announcing it." Charmaine nodded seriously and added, "I'm entrusting this to you. If we're found out, I'll take full responsibility."

"Don't say that! If my Master Field finds out I refused to help you, I'll never hear the end of it!"

Micah was impressed by Charmaine's performance and he had an expression of pure admiration now. "Besides, saving a life is a good thing. If you're keeping it under wraps, you must have your reasons."

Charmaine lowered her gaze just as her phone rang.

She answered, “Ms. Charmaine, this is the city police department. You are currently a person of interest in an ongoing traffic accident investigation. Please come to the station for questioning."

"Understood," she replied calmly before hanging up.

Rex, who had overheard the conversation, nearly jumped out of his skin. "What the hell? Are they actually suspecting you? Do they even have proof? Milo got himself into this mess! If you hadn't dragged him ou from the bottom of that cliff and operated on him, he'd be in heaven by now!"
