Chapter 2280
Inside the abandoned factory, the four were now in the same area.noveldrama
Patrick was held by two mysterious figures, while Helio aimed the crossbow at them.
"Just let us leave, kid. We'll release your friend. And tell those lurking nearby to clear out!" One of the mysterious men pulled out a blade and threatened, "Otherwise, don't blame us for what we'll do next!"
Helio's hands trembled. Despite his great power, he was still just a 17-year-old boy facing a life-or-death choice for the first time. He could not help feeling scared.
At that moment, Patrick gave Helio a resolute look, and Helio understood what he meant.
Patrick trusted Helio, but Helio was struggling to keep his composure in this situation.
In Patrick's mind, the mission came above all else.
It had always been this way. He had always managed to defeat enemies smoothly, so he never considered the possibility of unexpected events.
From the moment they entered the factory, the two mysterious men had been manipulating them.
Helio knew he was no match for the person who had set up the barrier limiting his power.
As Helio continued to tremble, the two mysterious men grew impatient.
They pressed their daggers against Patrick's throat, drawing blood.
Patrick still signaled Helio to continue, yet Helio's hands shook uncontrollably.
Then, mustering his courage, he took aim.
The two mysterious men realized he was ready to risk everything and prepared to end Patrick's life.
The arrow shot out, flying toward
Patrick at incredible speed. Just as
the mysterious men were about to the arrow suddenly curved,
react t
striking the arm of the one
controlling Patrick.
The more formidable of the two mysterious men was pierced through the arm, and he collapsed in pain.
Patrick was quick as lightning. He sprang up and kicked the other mysterious man, sending him flying.
In a swift motion, he tossed a
capture net from his pocket, trapping the two individuals. With this seamless operation, the mysterious pair was instantly subdued. Their previous arrogance
was completely deflated.
Helio breathed a long sigh of relief. His body still trembled as Patrick helped him to his feet.
"Thanks. I was right to trust you," Helio said.
As he stood up, cold sweat dripped down his body. He then grumbled, "Next time won't play along with you like this. If that guy had sealed your true energy too, you would've been in trouble. I was scared to death."
Seeing Helio still shaken, Patrick laughed heartily, which was rare for him. "Haha, it's rare to see the fearless Helio in such a sorry state!"
"It's all because of you!" Helio retorted.
"Alright, alright. It's my fault." Patrick conceded. "Keep an eye on them while I retrieve the arrows, then we'll leave." With that, he picked up an arrow stuck in the ground nearby.
Helio quipped, "Couldn't you just use your ability to control the arrows and bring them over?"
Patrick shook his head. "Of course not. I can only control arrows flying in the air that haven't touched anything. Otherwise, why would I have needed you to save me?"
Helio nodded halfheartedly. "Fine, fine. What a useless ability. Hurry up, then. I'll call the others to come in." Patrick then left to search for the arrows nearby.
He soon found one not far away. As he bent down to pull it out, the black powder on the arrow caught his attention.
"The dangerous weapons mentioned in the mission brief aren't in this factory. Were they moved?" he wondered aloud.
What do you think?
