“I’m dining out with my friends today, so I might not be able to meet Mr. Gu today.”

Hearing that, Miss Mu said with a regretful tone, “It’s my fault. Sorry to bother you, President Qin.”

The girl waved to Qin Muxuan, “Mommy!”

Qin Muxuan then continued to watch Qin Xin playing there with a smile.

After around twenty minutes, Qin Muxuan saw the waiter already place all the dishes on the table. Then she called Qin Xin, “Xiaoxin, get down here. We’ll go to eat now.’

“OK.” Hearing that, Qin Xin slid down the slide and ran toward Qin Muxuan.

As Qin Muxuan saw the girl coming, she picked Qin Xin’s shoes up immediately. Afte Qin Xin sat on the chair, Qin Muxuan helped her put on the shoes.

“Mommy, can you take me to wash my hands?”

“OK!”

Qin Muxuan took Qin Xin to the restroom. As she walked in, she saw a sink for children at once. Then, Qin Muxuan squatted down and started to wash Qin Xin’s little hands under the tap.

After that, she carefully dried Qin Xin’s little hands and then walked the little girl out of the restroom. However, as Qin Muxuan had just got out, she glimpsed a familiar figure with the corner of her eyes.

Qin Muxuan stared at the man’s side face in a daze, feeing her heart jolting.

The man happened to walk toward the place where she and Qin Xin was standing. Qin Muxuan couldn’t help but get flustered. Then she took Qin Xin’ s hand and walked into the restroom again.

Qin Muxuan leaned on the wall of the restroom, gasping.

Qin Xin looked at Qin Muxuan’s pale face with a worried look, “Mommy, do you feel uncomfortable?”

Only until then did Qin Muxuan realize that Qin Xin was still with her. Then she had to suppress her fear, being afraid that she would terrify Qin Xin if she suddenly got sick again.

“I’m fine. Let’s wait here for a while before we go out, OK?” Qin Muxuan said tenderly.

After she stayed in the restroom for about ten minutes, her phone suddenly rang.

“Xuan, where are you and Xiaoxin?” After Jian Xi waited for them for a long while, she had gone to look for them at the place where Qin Xin had played but still didn’t see them. Then she called Qin Muxuan.

After hanging up the phone, Qin Muxuan said, looking down at Qin Xin, “Let’s go back.”

Qin Xin nodded and let Qin Muxuan hold her hand. Qin Muxuan poked out of the restroom and looked at her surroundings. After she made sure that Gu Zijin had already left, she walked out with Qin Xin and headed to where Jian Xi and Mu Ming were sitting.

When Qin Muxuan sat beside Jian Xi, she was still not fully recovered.

Jian Xi saw her pale face and then asked, “What happened?”

“I saw him.” Qin Muxuan let out a breath and said to Jian Xi.

Jian Xi knew whom Qin Muxuan was talking about, then the look on her face also changed.

Qin Muxuan got a bit nervous at first and then panicked, “Did he know that I was back?’

“No way. Haven’t you already dodged him for three years?”

“But…”

Although Qin Muxuan knew that Jian Xi was right, she still doubted if Gu Zijin had only shown up by coincidence.

“Jian Xi is right. You are thinking too much. I spend most of time here and know some news about Gu Zijin too. I heard that he is seeking cooperation with a company lately. Perhaps he only had an appointment here.”

After the meal, Mu Ming sent the three of them to the hotel and then left. Before he bid farewell to them, he told Jian Xi to call him if anything happened.

Qin Muxuan had booked two rooms in the hotel, one for Jian Xi and the other for he and Qin Xin.

Jian Xi sat on the couch and saw Qin Muxuan still losing her mind. Then she poured a glass of water for the latter, “Xuan, I can stay with you tonight.”

Jian Xi was a bit worried about Qin Muxuan’s condition now. She was afraid that Qin Muxuan would have an attack again if she left. If so, things would be really difficult.

However, Qin Muxuan didn’t hear Jian Xi’s words at all and only stayed in a trance with a glass in her hands. Seeing Qin Muxuan being like this, Jian Xi said straightly, “I think accompany you.”

Jian Xi said that. After that, she carried her quilt over from the room next door.

When Qin Muxuan came back to her sense, she then learned surprisedly that she would sleep on the same bed with Jian Xi tonight, which got her a bit speechless. However, even though Qin Muxuan had promised that she would be fine, Jian Xi still insisted on staying.

Luckily the bed was large enough for the three of them to sleep.

After a whole day’s trip, Qin Muxuan and Jian Xi both fell asleep quickly after they had given a shower to Qin Xin.

At midnight, Qin Muxuan got up to pour a glass of water for herself. When she went back to the bed, she found that Qin Xin seemed to catch a fever and had a burning forehead.

Qin Muxuan got sober right away. “Jian Xi! Jian Xi!”

“Eh… what’s wrong?” Jian Xi was woken up by Qin Muxuan all of a sudden.

“Xiaoxin seems to have a fever now.” Qin Muxuan attached her forehead to Qin Xin’s and said to Jian Xi.

Hearing that, Jian Xi opened her eyes at once and turned on the lamp.

“I’ll call Mu Ming. Let’s go to the hospital.” Jian Xi groped for her phone on the table and dialed Mu Ming’s number.

Mu Ming had received this call right after he had fallen asleep. “Jian Xi? What happened?”

“Xiaoxin has a fever. Can you come over right now?” Jian Xi’s voice sounded very anxious.

Hearing that, Mu Ming climbed up from the bed immediately, “OK, I’ll go.”

After hanging up the phone, Mu Ming got changed and drove to the hotel where Qin Muxuan stayed in.

Meanwhile, in the hotel, Qin Muxuan changed her clothes in a muddle and put a cold towel on Qin Xin’s forehead, hoping to reduce Qin Xin’s symptoms.

“Xuan, don’t worry. President Mu will be here soon.”

Qin Muxuan nodded, feeling still unable to calm down.

After a short while, Mu Ming arrived at the door of the hotel. After Jian Xi received Mu Ming’s call, she and Qin Muxuan brought Qin Xin downstairs in a hurry.

“Get in the car.” Mu Ming said to Jian Xi and Qin Muxuan who were rushing to him hurriedly.

After Qin Muxuan and Jian Xi sat in the car, Mu Ming pressed down on the accelerator instantly and drove to the hospital.

In the hospital, Qin Muxuan saw Qin Xin being pushed into the emergency room by th doctor.

Qin Muxuan, eyes turning red, felt herself being overwhelmed by anxiety.

If she knew things would be like this, she wouldn’t have taken Qin Xin back. So many things had happened during only one day.

As Qin Muxuan sat on the chair in the hallway of the hospital, she couldn’t help blaming herself deep down.

Jian Xi was very worried as she saw Qin Muxuan being like that. However, the only thing she could do now was giving her comfort, “Xiaoxin will be all right.”

Qin Muxuan nodded and look up at the door of the emergency room, waiting for Qin Xin to be pushed out.

For the first time, Qin Muxuan felt the time passing so slowly. Luckily, the treatment didn’t last for long. After about half an hour, the doctor walked out from the emergency room.

“Who is the parent?”

“I am. I am. Doctor, how’s my daughter doing?” Qin Muxuan rushed to the doctor at once with a worried face.

The doctor gave her a comforting smile, “Don’t worry. She’s just unaccustomed to the new place. After a one-day observation in the hospital, she could leave then.”

“Thank you, doctor!”

Qin Muxuan finally got relived. After a short while, Qin Xin was pushed out of the emergency room. She was already awake now with one of her hands hooked up to an i. v.

“Mommy.” Qin Xin opened her eyes wildly and looked to Qin Muxuan.

“I’m here. I’m here.” Qin Muxuan held the other hand of Qin Xin and walked to Qin Xin’ s ward with the nurse.

After they arrived at the ward, the nurse told Qin Muxuan the things that needed her attention and then left. After that, Qin Xin was put to sleep by Qin Muxuan.

“Mu Ming, thank you for today.” Qin Muxuan looked at Mu Ming with a grateful look in her eyes.

“It’s my pleasure. Since Xiaoxin’s fine now, I’ll go back.”

“OK, Jian Xi, you should go back too. Mu Ming could give you a lift.” Qin Muxuan said to Jian Xi.

“Can you handle this by yourself?” Jian Xi was a bit worried about Qin Muxuan and wanted to stay to help.

“I’ll be fine. Just go back to have a rest.”

Qin Muxuan insisted on Jian Xi leaving now, then the latter left with Mu Ming at last. After they both went out, Qin Muxuan sat beside Qin Xin’s bed. She held Qin Xin’s little and with her eyes fixed on her.

Luckily, nothing had happened to Qin Xin.
