No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Xenia ran straight toward Lucas, and he subconsciously reached out to pull her away. However, when he turned around, he noticed that Noelle stood rooted to the spot. He immediately realized what he had just done and shouted in fear, "Get out of the way!"

Noelle looked at him expressionlessly with a dark gaze.

With a sharp screech of the brakes, the car stopped by Noelle's side. The windows were rolled down, and Cedric's handsome face appeared. He said gently, "Get in." Noelle smirked. She knew that it would be him!

As she climbed into the car, Lucas' voice sounded out, saying, "Noelle, you can't leave with him."

She turned to see Lucas rushing over toward them. She immediately rolled up the windows to block everything from the outside.

Lucas chased after them for some time before stopping defeatedly. He slammed his fist on the

road in frustration. He wondered how things had ended up

that way.

The realization that he had instinctively left Noelle behind just moments ago deeply unsettled

him.

Thinking back to Noelle's piercing gaze, Lucas could not shake off his rising panic. He wondered what his steps were.

Although he had instinctively chosen to protect Xenia earlier, it did not mean that he did not

care about Noelle. Not to mention, Xenia had run over in an attempt to save him. He couldn't possibly leave her behind. Lucas assumed that Noelle, who was as smart as she was, would' understand that. Nevertheless, he wasn't sure, nor was he confident.

Xenia approached him with a worried look. "Lucas, are you alright? I'm sure Noelle will be fine. After all, she didn't come home last night either. She was also probably with that school doctor." Lucas' expression changed. "Noelle has been led astray by that man. Sure, she used to throw tantrums, but she never stayed mad at her family like this!"

Noelle had changed, so he had to find a way to set everything back on track.

In the car, Noelle rolled down the window again and enjoyed the breeze from outside. She did not say a single word, and Cedric also remained silent as he drove her back to her apartment. Chapter 46

Noelle entered the elevator and secretly glanced at him. "Are you mad?" She noticed that his expression wasn't quite right when she entered the car.

Cedric looked at their reflections in the elevator mirror and said, "You've improved. At least you thought to ask me for help when you were taken."

Noelle explained, "That's because everything had happened very suddenly. Someone had confessed to me at the school entrance, so I aimed a fire extinguisher at them.

"He was from Yasnia, so he wasn't someone I could mess with. As things were unfolding, Lucas appeared and stood up for me before he forcibly pushed me into his car. I never thought he would take me to his training camp." She also never thought that Lucas would arrange for so many people to congratulate her on joining their team when she had not agreed to anything.

The old Noelle would have been guilt-tripped into complying, but she refused to feel guilty as the person she was now. That way, the Liddells wouldn't be able to guilt-trip her into anything.

"Who confessed to you?"

Noelle looked up. "One of the more handsome guys in the private school next to our school."noveldrama

Cedric narrowed his eyes. "Is he the one that you have a crush on?"

"How could it possibly be him?" Noelle nearly laughed out loud. When the elevator doors opened, she stepped out.

Cedric watched her leave and said stiffly, "Kiddo, you should not get into a relationship so early on in life!"

Noelle replied, "I know. You've already told me that multiple times now. So stop lecturing me like an overbearing dad!"

Cedric slowly followed behind her, frowning. He seemed to be thinking deeply, as if he was thinking about something.

Noelle realized that there were several fresh vegetables and fruits in the kitchen and asked confusedly, "Are you planning to cook?"

"What are you thinking about? I was planning to have a chef come over and make us lunch when you messaged me."

Noelle felt slightly guilty, so she suggested, "How about I cook from now on? I'm actually pretty good at it."

Ever since Cedric had taken her in, she had always wanted to do something for him.

Cedric narrowed his eyes. "Since when did you learn how to cook?"

"During my time in the Liddell residence, I would often cook for everyone, especially Donovan and Frank. Frank has a sensitive stomach and only eats the food I cook..." Noelle paused momentarily before saying, "Regardless, I learned to cook a long time ago."

Back then, she had purposely learned how to cook from one of the housekeepers to please and win her brothers' favors.

Cedric seemed unhappy as he slowly said, "Kiddo, your hands aren't meant for cooking."
