Lenora and Zachary Chapter 514
Chapter 514 Pregnant Before Marriage
Zachary glanced at her and said, "Stanley has this slight advantage over me."
Lenora was rendered speechless.
Harrietta was all ears, attentively listening to the conversation between the two. Unable to contain her curiosity, she asked, "Didn't Uncle Stanley just get married? How is it that Aunt Mindy has already given birth?" "That's because Aunt Mindy was pregnant before she got married. It's called being pregnant before marriage," Lenora explained earnestly.
Harrietta nodded thoughtfully.
Zachary couldn't help but say, "When you grow up, Hattie, you shouldn't let that happen to you, okay?"
Zachary was already starting to worry.
Lenora gave a small laugh when she heard those words.
Harrietta tilted her head back, blinked, and said, "However, you and Aunt Lenora haven't remarried, right?"
Zachary struggled to find a response.
Eventually, he said, "It's a different situation when it comes to Aunt Lenora and me."
"What is different?"
Zachary glanced at Lenora, changing the subject. "Hattie, aren't you happy about having a new little one to play with? We'll see him soon!"
Harrietta reluctantly replied, "All right, then."
"What's wrong? Don't you want a new playmate?"
Harrietta nestled into Lenora's embrace, lifting her gaze to meet hers. "I prefer the little one Aunt Lenora is giving birth to."
"What if she gives birth to a girl?"
"I'll still like her."
Upon arriving at the mall's hair salon, with Harrietta's assistance, the hairstylist gave her a thin, straight fringe.
Her fringe obscured her full forehead, drawing the eye downward to immediately notice Harrietta's round, large, and dark eyes. Her small, perfectly shaped nose and delicate skin were utterly adorable.
Adding to the fact that some children would tend to cry and fuss during haircuts, Harrietta's well-behaved and cooperative demeanor was quite endearing. The hairstylist couldn't help but shower her with continuous praise. After leaving the hair salon, the trio headed to KFC, where Harrietta ordered a feast with a few clicks.
While they were waiting for their meal, Lenora got up and said, "I'm going to the restroom. Do you want to come along, Hattie?"
Harrietta furrowed her brows, taking a moment to gauge the situation, then said, "Okay."
She smoothly slid off her seat, took Lenora's hand, and walked out together.
There was no restroom in that particular KFC. Lenora led Harrietta out, and following the signage, they found the public restroom within the mall.
There weren't many people inside, and the sink was shared by both men and women.
Harrietta was the first to emerge from the partition, washing her hands while standing on her tiptoes.
The faucet nearby was turned on, and in the corner of her eye, she saw a man's figure. Harrietta shut off the water, casually glancing to the side, and noticed an elderly foreign man.
The foreign old man was also looking back at her.
His eyes were deep-set, his nose prominent, and streaks of white ran through his temples. He looked at Harrietta with a kind gaze. Taking the initiative, he stepped forward to strike up a conversation, "Kiddo, what's your name?" The language used was Uprian.
Harrietta glanced at the passersby nearby, then looked up at him, blinked, and responded in Uprian, "My name is Carol."
She gave him her Uprian name.
"Carol? That's a lovely name. Do you know who I am?" asked the foreign old man.
Harrietta shook her head.
The foreign old man was about to say something else when Lenora emerged from the restroom. Seeing an unfamiliar middle-aged foreign man standing in front of Harrietta, she called out, "Hattie." "Aunt Lenora." Harrietta smiled at the foreign old man before taking the initiative to walk over to Lenora's side.
The foreign elderly man's gaze shifted from Harrietta to Lenora. His eyes were indifferent and stern, scanning the woman before him from head to toe.
His gaze was piercing, impossible to ignore.
After washing her hands with a calm demeanor, Lenora turned to look at the middle-aged foreigner.
Their eyes met, and the middle-aged man's expression was inscrutable.
Lenora flashed him a smile before leading Harrietta away from the restroom.
Harrietta glanced upward at Lenora, then turned her gaze back to the restroom. Just then, she happened to spot an elderly foreign man emerging, his eyes following their departing figures. Seeing Harrietta glance her way, the foreign old man gave her a smile.noveldrama
Harrietta turned her head, retracted her gaze, and tilted her head in thought. That old man seemed quite peculiar.
When a person ventured into a
country with an unfamiliar language,
they would naturally prepare
themselves. They would gain a basic
understanding of the country's
language, typically starting
Lovel
conversations with simple greetings.
However, the foreign old man immediately asked her name in Uprian. Harrietta wondered if he had considered that she, being a little girl, might not understand Uprian.
After she responded, he showed no surprise at all, as if he had known she would certainly speak Uprian.
In other words, she felt as though the old man seemed to know her.
However, she didn't know him.
An unbelievable hunch suddenly sprang to Harrietta's mind as she recalled how the elderly man had looked at her earlier.
After having their meal at KFC, Lenora and Zachary took Harrietta for a stroll around the mall.
They then had dinner at Galaxy Bay.
Everything there remained just as it was before the two had divorced. Nothing had changed.
After dinner, the trio went for a stroll around the residential area.
After making two rounds, Lenora glanced at the time and said, "It's getting late. I should head back. Let's call it a day after this round."
"How about staying tonight?" Zachary gazed at her intently, voicing his suggestion tentatively.
Lenora shook her head with a gentle smile.
Zachary pursed his lips, but he didn't say anything.
Upon returning to the mansion, Lenora stood at the entrance.
Zachary led Harrietta inside, casually grabbing the car keys on his way out. He headed straight to the passenger side of the vehicle, pulled open the door, and gestured invitingly toward Lenora. Lenora walked over. When she was just about to get in the car, Zachary grasped her wrist. He leaned in close, lowering his voice to ask, "Are you really not staying?"
Lenora leaned back, resting her back against the frame of the car door. Her heart was pounding.
Feeling uncomfortable under his gaze, she instinctively averted her eyes, shaking her head. "I'm not staying."
"Why?"
Zachary's handsome face
approached once again, his large hand wrapped around her waist. The warmth of his breath fanned across her face, mingling with the familiar scent of his body and a masculine aura Isla is in the detentioncenter. Matthew has also agreed to get her to leave once she's out. She won't harm you or the child again."
The two of them were face to face, with only a breath's distance between them.
His eyes were as deep and pitch-black as the night sky, yet they shone with the brilliance of stars.
Lenora seemed to be drawn in, lost in a moment of trance. She lowered her gaze, parting her lips slightly, suddenly finding herself at a loss for words.
At first, she was reluctant to move back, and indeed, Isla was one of the reasons.
"Move back in, okay?"
"No... Mmm..."
Zachary didn't give her a chance to finish speaking. Suddenly, he leaned over, covering her lips with his. His large hand cradled the back of her
head, his tongue pushing past her
teeth, invading assertively.
"Mmm..."
Struggling slightly, Lenora placed her hand on his chest, feeling the steady and strong heartbeat beneath her palm.
Her struggle was futile.
Zachary noticed that she had given up, and he gradually became more gentle.
His beloved was held in his embrace, being kissed by him. Zachary wished time could have frozen at that moment, so she would never leave him. However, he couldn't do that.
He understood the thorn in her heart and her unease.
So much had transpired between them that he couldn't provide her with the security she needed. Thus, a wall had formed in her heart, separating the two of them.
Even though she allowed him to get closer, she was determined not to commit herself.
Zachary finally released her, burying his head in the crook of her neck. He took a deep breath, suppressing the stirrings within his heart. "Don't worry. I'll take you home soon."
