Chapter 118
“Come with me.”
Scott took Naomi’s luggage and walked ahead.
This had never happened to Naomi before. She panicked in an instant, but when she heard his low voice as if nothing happened, she gradually calmed down.
This was an accident. She did not mean to do it. He knew about it too, which was why she did not need to take it to heart.
Seeing him walking ahead, Naomi calmly followed him. She always kept a distance from him. Not too far, not too close. One step away from him. Just nice. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
They checked in and took their tickets. About five o’clock that evening, they boarded the plane.
They were in first class and were seated together. Naomi sat by the window while Scott sat next to her.
The skies were still bright at this hour. There was not a hint of the sun setting yet.
Naomi buckled her seatbelt and phoned Donna to tell her she was about to take off. Donna told her to send her a message when they landed so that she would not worry. At the same time, she told Naomi to take care of herself. Naomi agreed to everything.
Their flight was about to take off just as she finished her phone call.
Naomi looked at the time before sending Charles a message. After all, she promised she would text him once she was on the plane.
At that moment, Charles was in class at college. His phone on the podium suddenly lit up.
He lowered his head to see a message from Naomi.
[Naomi: Charles, I’m on the plane.]
Seeing those few words, Charles smiled.
The flight took off right on time at ten past five. Naomi shut off her phone and looked out of the window.
Horizon City became a tiny dot. The city skyline looked like tiny blocks of buildings.
This was her home. She liked it a lot.
Once Scott got seated on the plane, he took a magazine to read. Even when the plane took off, he was still reading.
The air stewardess passed him an intricate menu and sweetly said, “Sir, dinner will be served soon. What would you like to eat?”
Scott flipped a page on the magazine and said, “Pass it to her.”
It was short and curt, yet it fully conveyed his message.
The air stewardess’ smile stiffened before looking at Naomi next to him.
Naomi had been looking out of the window, so she did not pay attention to what the air
stewardess was saying. When she heard Scott’s voice, she paused for a while before turning.
She saw the menu from the air stewardess. She reached out and accepted it. “Let me.”
The air stewardess smiled, but it was less warm than before. “Okay.”
Naomi noted that the menu listed all the famous dishes from Horizon City. Some of them were spicy.
She ordered a few non-spicy dishes and informed the air stewardess of other dietary requirements before handing the menu back to her.
“Alright, please wait.”
The air stewardess took the menu back. Before leaving, she glanced at Scott once more.
Scott was still reading the magazine. He never once looked up.
The man was too closed off. There was no space for another person to enter into his bubble.
