Chapter 181
Chapter 181
Olivia curled her lips into a knowing smile, as though she was not at all surprised to see Scott here.
Dylan, too, got out of the car behind her and did not appear fazed at all. That was because he already caught sight of Scott when the car approached from afar.
Neither Olivia nor Dylan noticed Naomi, but Dylan knew that she would be around—just that he could not see her because she already got into the car.
Although Dylan was not surprised to see Scott and Naomi here, he was already perplexed at what a coincidence it was—what were the odds that he and Olivia would bump into them here?
He and Scott booked two different restaurants, but who would have thought the two places would be on the same street?
Although this was just a harmless mistake, Dylan did not want Scott to misread things, so he winked at Scott with a knowing look.
However, Scott paused when he caught sight of Dylan, then turned to the driver. "You should go ahead."
The driver nodded and got into the driver's seat. Scott closed the door behind Naomi, and just before he shut the door, he turned and glanced at her.
Naomi was not looking at him at all, but instead at Olivia from across the street. It was impossible for her not to notice Dylan and Olivia's car, but she only snuck a glimpse and quickly turned away. She was not at all surprised to see Olivia here, since Scott was around. However, she could not help but wonder what Olivia would think of the events last night; she and Scott shared a room. Did Olivia know about this? Did she mind?
As curious as Naomi was, she knew she would never get her questions answered. She would not dare to ask Olivia this, and she could not possibly put a finger on Olivia's thoughts at all.
Scott closed the door. Naomi was not surprised to see that he did not follow. The driver started the car and pulled into the traffic.
Olivia watched as Scott's car pulled away. She crossed the street and approached Scott, with Dylan following closely behind.
"Hey, I didn't know you'd be in Herland, you dog! Why didn't you call me? Would you have left without even bothering to see me if I didn't bumped into you here?" Dylan exclaimed, pretending as though he had no idea Scott was in Herland.
Scott glanced at him, then turned to Olivia. "What are you doing here?"
His tone was calm and level, as though he was speaking to a stranger instead of an old friend.
Olivia's eyelids flickered, then she smiled and replied, "I'm on a business trip—fulfilling company duties. Isn't that what you do all the time too?" Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
The truth was, she called Sasha after reading her message and flew over to Herland just to see him. However, she did not tell Sasha that Scott spent the past two nights with another woman. She wanted to let Sasha think she and Scott were together. The fact that Sasha recognized that woman wrongly and thought she was Olivia meant that to a certain degree, the two looked alike, so she would continue playing out this act.
What did she even mean to Scott? Why was he willing to spend the night with another woman rather than her?
She had to get to the bottom of this.
Scott did not respond. He stared intently at Olivia, as though trying to unveil her thoughts with his penetrating stare.
Dylan glanced first at Scott, then at Olivia. He could tell that Scott was not pleased. He knew that Scott was not at all interested in Olivia romantically. If anything, Scott thought of her as nothing more than simple acquaintances, but Olivia did not seem—or rather, she refused—to get this message.
