“There’s an unexpected situation at the office, I need to rush over there. I’ll be home tonight.” Justin’s voice echoed from the phone.
Listening to his voice, Nancy felt as if it was laced with a layer of ice, transmitting waves of coldness through the phone.
A wave of disappointment surged through Nancy.
With her eyes reddened, she asked, “Will you come back right after work tonight?”
For reasons unknown, she used to be able to act coquettishly without any inhibitions.
But lately, she felt as if an indiscernible fog had formed between her and Justin. She felt like he wasn’t valuing her as much as before.
“Yes, if there’s nothing else, I’ll head home after work.” Justin’s voice softened again.

Nancy was tearfully upset, though she couldn’t understand why she had become so overly sensitive. Going on business trips was a normal part of life, as was returning to work at the company. There were other people around him; it was impossible for him to coddle her in hushed tones as he would at home.
“All right, I’ll wait for you to come home,” Nancy said softly.
After ending the call, she felt somewhat disoriented and found herself in the kitchen.
Watching the lavish breakfast she had eagerly prepared, she felt somewhat disoriented and lost.
She wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Justin’s love for her seemed to have diminished, and it felt as if he was gradually distancing himself from her.
She thought of her cousin.
Suddenly, an unbelievable thought popped into her head. “Could it be that Justin is growing tired of me?”

Nancy was still completely in the dark.
He had personally witnessed the love between Justin and his wife. He knew that Justin doted on his wife immensely, and that she, in turn, was completely smitten with him. The depth of their affection for each other was something truly enviable.
However, they hadn’t been married for long, had they? How come Justin was already spending time alone with Gwendolyn?

Justin watched Gwendolyn’s reliance on him, a certain heaviness in his eyes, as if someone was continuously telling him to love this woman.

Justin’s eyes darkened, an icy aura enveloping him. “I’ve taken precautions, you won’t get pregnant,” he assured.
Upon hearing these words, a glint flickered in Gwendolyn’s eyes.
“Sometimes, even after taking precautions, unexpected incidents can still occur. Justin, if, I mean, if such an incident were to happen, should I keep it?”
Justin’s face was as cold as frost, without a hint of hesitation, he declared, “Get rid of it, I don’t want a child right now.”
Upon hearing these words, Gwendolyn bit her lips.
He doesn’t want children… How heartless.
No matter what approach she used, he remained unyielding and heartless. Could it be that he truly only wanted Nancy to bear his child?

When Chad saw Aurelia, he was somewhat at a loss. “Aurelia.”
“How’s your leg recovery coming along?” Aurelia asked with a smile, her gaze then shifted toward Chad’s leg.
Chad immediately took a couple of steps, turning in a circle for Aurelia to see. “I’m mostly recovered. I just can’t walk fast, but I can manage a slow pace. Are you getting used to working here? If my grandfather has assigned you a lot of work, you can go on strike.”
Norman turned around and tapped Chad on the head. “What nonsense are you spouting? Do I seem like the kind of person who would exploit his employees?”
Rubbing his head while wincing in pain, Chad exclaimed, “Are you trying to knock me senseless, Grandpa?”
Watching Chad bickering with Norman, Aurelia chuckled. “I really enjoy working here, everything I do is something I love.”
