CHAPTER 36
Chapter 36
Baron was dragged to the outside and shoved into a truck.
Soldiers cuffed his hands to the bars and shut the truck’s doors.
Baron shook the bars violently and snarled, “I am your Gamma for fuck’s sake! You dare do this to me!? FUCK! Just wait till I get out! I will snap your fucking hands-”
“Stop yelling, Gamma Baron.” Glen walked to the truck and looked up at Baron with a smile. “You can use some of
that strength later.”
Baron glared at him, “What the fuck are you doing here?!”
“Aurora and Alpha Lance asked me a favor.”
Glen opened the truck’s passenger’s door and hopped in, “I am tagging along as the third party to make sure that this punishment is carried out rightly.”
“Y–You are definitely here to gloat! You son of a bitch! You wuss! Piece of shit-”
“Let the parade begin!” Glen raised his volume, talking over Baron’s vicious curses.
The truck took off from the hotel and drove into the central downtown.
Its presence caught people’s eyes immediately.
People stopped on the street and gazed over, perplexed.
Baron’s face gradually turned red with embarrassment.
He wanted to hide his face under his elbows, but he couldn’t because his hands were cuffed to the bars.
And the speaker installed on top of the truck started to broadcast:
“…, Gamma Baron of the Silver Blade Pack, hereby apologize for my mistakes. I cheated in the competition and gave my competitors the wrong map, leading them into the bear cave. I put Gamma Aurora’s life at risk. I disappointed my Alpha and all my soldiers. I am evil and despicable…”
“NO! NO-
Baron cried desperately.
“It wasn’t me! I didn’t do it! I am here to take the blame for one of my soldiers! For FUCK’S SAKE! Somebody turn of that damn broadcast!”
20:58 Mon, 22 Jul
His voice was drowned out by the broadcast, which got even louder and started to repeat itself:
“…I, Gamma Baron of the Silver Blade Pack, hereby apologize for my mistakes. I cheated in the competition…”
More and more people were gathered by the streetside to see the parade, muttering:
“Look, that is Gamma Baron.”
“I heard that he had done many shameful stuffs before. But nobody dares challenge him because of his power.”
“He totally deserves this. Well done.”
Somebody started applauding. The applause and cheers grew louder as the parade went on. A few kids ran behind
the truck and spat at Baron.
At this moment, on the top floor of the hotel.
Damien was looking down at the parade, a cold look on his face.
“You knew he was guilty,” a voice came from behind him.
Aurora walked up to Damien, staring at him intensely.
“He was clearly behind everything. Yet somehow, he managed to get Maxie to take the blame for him! If I didn’t. step out today, are you going to punish Maxie instead?”
“No.” He said, deadpan. “I was going to talk to my ministers and ask them to dig deeper into the case.”
Aurora let out a sneer, “And how long is that going to take? While the investigation is ongoing, do you think Baron will just stop telling people that Maxie is guilty? Eventually, people stop caring about the truth anymore, and they will all be convinced that Maxie is the real criminall”
A furrow appeared between Damien’s brows.
“How do you know about that?” he asked.
How?
Because that was how Chloe treated her in the past.
Aurora knew very well what it felt like to be charged with a crime that she didn’t convict.
“Anyway,” she said evasively. “You should pay more attention to Maxie. I think she is blackmailed by Baron somehow.”
She turned to leave.
But Damien grabbed her hand and stopped her.
“We are not finished here!” he said in a strained voice, “You still haven’t told me how you got those frostbites. And
how do you know about these stuffs so well? And…”
There were so many things that he didn’t know about Aurora.
He used to find his Luna very dull and boring.
Plus, according to Chloe, evil.
But ever since her return, Aurora changed.
Or maybe she didn’t change at all.
He just never really understood her in the past.

“Tell me, Aurora.”
Damien stepped closer to her, his voice hoarse with eagerness, “Answer my question-”
A hand grabbed Damien’s arm, forcing him to let go of Aurora.
It was Lance.
“Don’t touch her with your filthy hands. Just give her a break,” said Lance with disgust.
“Let’s go.” Aurora said.
Together, they walked away.
Damien stood by the window alone staring at their backs, a frustrated look on his face.
The parade carried on throughout the entire afternoon.
Baron’s voice eventually became hoarse because of all the screaming. His hands were bleeding from his violent struggles against the handcuff.
The truck finally took him back after 5 hours of suffering. Only then did the cheerful crowd dispersed. Everybody was still talking about the awkward look that Baron had on his face.
Chloe was in the crowd of people watching the parade.
20:58 Mon, zz
She was the only furious face there.
Coming back to the Ravenwood’s recidence, Chloe dashed across the living room in fume and burst open the
kitchen’s door.
“I’M SO FUCKING SICK OF HER!!!!” she screamed.
Paul. Hellen, and John were having afternoon tea in the kitchen.
They all turned to look at her.
Chloe stormed into the kitchen and paced back and forth in the room anxiously.
“That bitch Aurora…how on earth did she get Damien to punish Baron for her? I can’t believe it…she doesn’t have
that kind of influence on Damien…No…”
A maid just came into the kitchen carrying a pot of hot tea.
Chloe jerked around and glared at the maid:
“Who said you could come in here? Are you here to laugh at me as well?!”
“No miss. –”
Chloe grabbed the tea pot and poured the boiling hot tea directly onto her face!
“GET OUT!!” Chloe shrieked sharply, “OUT, OUT, OUT!!”
The maid covered her face crying and ran off.
“Hey!” John cried, “She didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t vent your anger on her!”
He flirted with that maid a couple times. He quite liked her.
Chloe rounded her eyes at John, “I AM the future Luna! I can punish anyone I want! ANYONE!”
John muttered with an eyeroll, “…You are no shit right now…”
“WHAT DID YOU SAY?!”
“STOP!” Hellen slammed the table. “Both of you. Stop! We need to focus and figure out a solution
Aurora!”
“I thought you had total control over Alpha Damien? What changed?” asked Paul shortly.
to get rid of
Chloe’s influence over Damien was the only reason that they adopted her. If that advantage was gone….
20:58 MON, 22
“Aurora is back. That is what changed!” Chloe hissed.
She sensed Paul’s discontent. But she would not put up with it. She couldn’t let these people sit around doing nothing and enjoy their victory while she was out there doing all the hard work.
“If I am gone and Aurora becomes Damien’s Luna again, just think of what she will do to you. We are in this TOGETHER!” Chloe gritted, fixing her gaze on Paul.
Paul swayed in his seat, sweating, “Yeah…yeah you are right.”
“Well…”
John shrugged, “As far as I am concerned, Aurora can only be this aggressive because she had a powerful man.”
Alpha Lance?” Chloe murmured, still breathing heavily.
“Yes. Without Lance’s support, we can easily get rid of Aurora.” John said, “All we need to do right now is to break his connection with Aurora. We all know that they aren’t real brother and sister. Turning them against each other
should be pretty easy.”
“But how?” Hellen frowned. “Aurora is his Gamma! He needs her.”
“Please mother,” John rolled his eyes. “Do you seriously believe that Aurora became Gamma because she is capable? It is all because Lance is fucking her! If Lance moves on to another woman, surely he will forget about Aurora in no time.”
“Awesome!” Hellen cried excitedly, “Then we just need a person to seduce Lance. Let me think. Who is qualified…”
‘Why bother looking for somebody else?” Chloe suddenly said.
She stuck out her chest and chined up proudly:
“No one can do a better job than me.”
