Chapter Eight..
Nelly’s POV.
My hands were shaking as | pulled my gown over my head. Alpha Kex’s gaze was fixed on me, and | felt as if he could see right through me. | could feel myself blushing under his intense stare, but | couldn’t look away. He stood there, motionless, as | undressed.
Finally, when | was done, he spoke. “Leave the bra and pants on,” he said, his voice low and smooth. | wasn’t sure what to say, so | just nodded, my checks still burning with embarrassment.
With trembling legs. | began to walk towards him, trying to appear confident. | could feel his eyes on me, burning into my skin, and | couldn’t help but enjoy the attention. But beneath the surface. | was a bundle of nerves, my heart racing and my palms. sweating.
| didn’t know what he was going to do if he finds out | am sacred, and | was scared to find out. So | knew | had to keep up appearances, to not let him see my fear. So | kept walking, my steps growing steadier with each step.
| sat down on his lap, and he leaned in, his lips brushing against my neck, making me shiver. Tie your hair back, he whispered, his voice low and husky.
| nodded, reaching up to gather my hair into a ponytail. As | pulled the elastic band around the base of my ponytail,
| felt his hands on my waist, his fingers tracing along my curves. | tried to keep my breathing steady, but my heart was pounding so hard | was sure he could hear it.
His hands reach out to unclasp my bra and then the door bursts open. My heart raced, Alpha Rex quickly pushed me, making me fall hard on the floor and he threw the blankets on me.
| turned around, my heart still racing, and saw Emily standing in the doorway, her face a mask of disgust. | could feel my cheeks flushing red with embarrassment.
“What are you doing here?” Alpha Kex demanded, his voice stern.
Emily began to s ob, her tears streaming down her face. | knew she was faking it, and | rolled my eyes, but Alpha Kex seemed to believe her. He got up and went to her, his hand on her shoulder.

“What's wrong?” he asked, his voice filled with concern.
“I'm feeling a headache and feverish,” she whimpered, sniffling as she wiped her tears. with the back of her hand. | could see through her act, but | said nothing, not wanting to make the situation worse.
“You should have knocked.” Alpha Kex said sternly.
“I'm sorry.” she mumbled, her eyes downcast.
“Let's get you some medicine,” he said, leading her out of the room.
As they walked away, Emily turned around and stuck her tongue out at me, and | clenched my jaw, my fists balled at my sides.
| fumed as | thought about how lucky she was that my hands were tied. If | had been able to move freely, | would have pulled that tongue right out of her mouth!
| cursed myself for not locking the door. If | had, she never would have been able to barge in and make a scene.
| slipped my gown back on and gathered my resolve. | had to check on Aisha, to make sure she was okay. Maybe she would answer the door this time. | walked down the hallway, my heart pounding in my chest. As | approached her door, | took a deep breath and knocked.
“Aisha, it's me. Can we talk?” | said, my voice wavering slightly. There was no response. | knocked again, a little louder this time. | heard the sound of keys jingling and my heart leapt with relief. A moment later, the door opened and Aisha stood before me, her eyes red and swollen.
“Why are you crying?” | asked as | stepped inside, closing the door behind me, Aisha shuffled over to her bed, collapsing onto it. and
| stood there, unsure of what to do or say. Aisha’s eyes were fixed on the wall, her expression unreadable. | broke the silence, my voice gentle.
“So can you kindly tell me why you have been crying?” She didn’t respond.
“Aisha, please talk to me,” | said, pleading.
She turned to face me, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “What's his name?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

“Who?” | asked, my mind racing to keep up.
“My mate,” she said, her voice quavering.
“Harry,” | replied, the words tumbling out of my mouth before | could stop them. She nodded, her eyes meeting mine for the first time since | had entered the room.
That’s why I’m like this,” she said, her voice breaking.
Without thinking. | rushed over to Aisha and knelt beside her, my eyes wide with concern. “Did he say something bad to you? Did he hurt you?” | asked, the words. spilling out of my mouth before | could
stop them.
Aisha held up her hand, her eyes pleading with me to stop. “Chill,” she said. “He didn’t do anything like that. We haven’t even seen each other.”
| let out a breath, relieved that she hadn't been harmed. “Then what is it about him?” | asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.
“I'm scared that he might be like Carl,” she said, her voice trembling.
“Not everyone is like Carl,” | said, my tone gentle but firm. “Sometimes we need to move on, and the moon goddess has given you another chance. You should embrace it.”
“It's not that easy,” she said, her words little more than a whisper. | felt my heart ache for her.
“| know it’s not,” | said. “But you can’t let fear hold you back. You deserve happiness. Just give it a chance,” | said, my tone gentle but insistent.
She sat in silence, lost in her thoughts. “Aisha,” | said, breaking the silence. She turned to look at me, her expression unreadable. “Are you okay?” | asked, my heart in my throat.
“Yeah,” she muttered, her voice sounding distant.
| wanted to reach out and comfort her, but | didn’t know how. So | just sat there, letting her have the space she needed. After a while, | broke the silence again. “Is there anything | can do?” | asked.
“Stay with me for the night,” she said, her voice soft and pleading.
| nodded without hesitation, and lay down beside her. She rested her head on my chest, and | felt the weight of her worries lift off her shoulders. We lay there in silence, the only sound of our breathing. | didn’t know when | drifted off to sleep, my last thought These Automation

As the morning sun streamed in through the window, it hit my eyes, forcing them open. | groaned and turned my head away from the light. In doing so, | noticed that Aisha was still fast asleep beside me.
| didn’t want to wake her, so | decided to get up and head to my own room. | opened the door and was greeted by an angry Alpha Kex. His eyes were dark and stormy, and | swallowed the lump in my throat. | knew | was in trouble, but | didn’t know what I had
done wrong.
