Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 35

Sabrina was puzzled.

After thinking for a while, she said, "You don't even know who the man is. How do you know we're divorcing?" This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

"Nelson called and told me. He said you would understand if I told you in that way."

But Gerald was confused and asked, "Does this mean that the man didn't want to split from you, but Nelson sorted it out so he agreed to break up? Is that what he meant?"

Sabrina was lost in her thoughts. She assumed he wanted her to move back, yet he was using Gerald to tell her that he agreed to divorce.

Sabrina didn't expect Nelson to be tired of her so soon. Then again, being with her wasn't much fun.

She thought Pamela was really something. One night of comfort with Pamela could change Nelson's mind that easily.

Sabrina's discomfort lasted for a few seconds before she accepted the reality. She was pretty happy she could get a divorce and didn't have to drag things out with Nelson.

However, Abigail looked upset.

"He really has his way of hurting you."

Abigail wondered what Nelson was up to. He toyed with Sabrina. After sleeping with her for one night, he kicked her out. She didn't think there was another man worse than him.

"Gerald, you're the best. You care about Sabrina."

Gerald even asked Abigail to come along as a third wheel because he feared that Sabrina would feel uncomfortable during the meal.

"Don't bring me along when you're going to have a meal with your sweetheart next time," Abigail said.

She hoped Gerald could bring happiness to Sabrina.

"Sweetheart, are you going to make him your official boyfriend?"

Abigail was afraid that Sabrina might tell Gerald the truth and hurt him. She was glad that Nelson had done something good.

"Sabrina, will I get to be your official boyfriend?"

Gerald was still thinking about how to teach Nelson a lesson. Now that the conversation had gone off track, he looked forward to her answer.

"We can try."

Gerald wanted to hug her but feared that he would scare her off. He couldn't control himself and ended up gripping the table firmly.

Sabrina couldn't help but chuckle.

Abigail held her forehead and asked, "Gerald, is it true that you change girlfriends every week?"

Gerald presently looked like a man who had never been in love before.

When he heard what Abigail said, his survival instinct kicked in.

He sincerely looked at Sabrina and said, "Sabrina, I was reckless before, but I've changed. I only want to be with you from now on. Do you believe me?"

Sabrina nodded.

"Yes, I do."

Gerald looked at Sabrina for a while and moved his lips but didn't say anything. He thought he was really done for because he was utterly smitten with Sabrina.

It was still early, so Sabrina picked up the brooch and headed home to hand it over to Cheryl.

When Cheryl held the brooch, she couldn't help but cry.

"Sabrina, I miss your dad so much."

Hearing this, Sabrina felt her nose tingle. She could only hug Cheryl tightly.

After Cheryl was done crying, she wore the brooch and asked Sabrina, "Does it look good?"

Sabrina nodded.

"It's very pretty and looks good on you. As expected of Dad's custom-made design for you."

The brooch had a beautiful name—"Fondion".

Sabrina's parents fell in love in that city and named the brooch after it.

Cheryl held the brooch and lay in Sabrina's embrace.

"Sabrina, I thought this brooch had been burned in the fire. I didn't expect it to be so perfectly preserved."

"How could it be? Dad's love for you can't be burned away."

As she spoke, Sabrina recalled seeing the brooch undamaged at the auction preview.

Other than the recent repair by Simon, there weren't any records of previous restorations or repairs.

Sabrina wondered why a brooch that should have been in a fire was perfectly preserved. She had her doubts, but she didn't dare ask Cheryl because she feared she might upset her.

Sabrina waited at home for Cheryl to fall asleep before leaving with Abigail.

Abigail was puzzled when she heard Sabrina's wish to return to Nelson's place.

"He's going to divorce you soon. Why bother going back?"

"I'm going back for the time being. What if he changes his mind? After all, he didn't tell me in person."

Nelson couldn't say anything about her if she stayed at his place.

Sabrina stayed at Villa No. 6, Windermere Street, for a week. Nelson didn't return during that time. Both of them didn't stay in touch. This made Sabrina feel like their relationship had regressed to how it used to be.

News about Nelson and Pamela often surfaced online as she waited alone in the empty house.

Unlike before, she wasn't looking forward to his return and was sure he wouldn't change his mind.

However, she didn't ask him when they would finalize the divorce certificate. She didn't want to complicate things, so she chose to leave the matter in his hands.
