Chapter 632
Jagger and Cora stepped forward to Morris.
Jagger spoke in his usual tone, "Morris, you've come just in time! Release Stella"
Cora chimed in, "Morris, considering you are the dear grandson of the Chivers family, release Stella now. Otherwise, my husband and I will stand our ground against you."
Morris might have found it amusing because he let out a laugh, which carried a hint of mockery.
"I'm not aware that criminals in our Dark Web Division can be casually demanded back like this!"
After Morris's words, Jagger replied, "Why not? Last time, Lydia was released. As people in this circle, I know how things are done inside.
"Release Stella and avoid unnecessary trouble. Otherwise, it will be very ugly when we all lose face."
Morris responded with a cold snort, "The Dark Web Division has three levels of dungeons for detaining criminals, each with different levels of severity. Leo, explain in detail to them."
Leo replied with a "Yes, sir,” and then addressed Jagger and Cora with a hint of disdain, "The third level is the most ordinary one. It's for minor mistakes and small punishments. Ordinary troublemakers can be released after a few days.
"The second level is the middle one, neither too high nor too low. It's for high-level business tycoons and officials with relatively ordinary positions. They are detained for several years.
"The first level is the highest level. It's for those who have committed unforgivable heinous crimes. No matter how high your position or how powerful you are, you will be thrown in there. And once you're in, don't think about getting out.
"Last time, Lydia
"But the notorious Stell is the third level, the most ordinary one, so she was released after a few days.
currently in the first level. If you want her out, well, that's going to be very difficult!"
"This is sheer nonsense! I think your Dark Web Division should be disbanded. Stella is well-known for her good reputation. How could she possibly do anything wrong?
"Is this some kind of scheme by Arthur or you to monopolize power and force Tristan to step down during the transition?"
"Hmph!" Morris let out a cold laugh, "The evidence has already been sent to Tristan. The truth will be clear once you visit him.
"I don't need to remind you what the Dark Web Division is. If I were to eliminate you two here for defying the law and intruding into a forbidden area, it would be perfectly justified.
"Goodbye!" With that, he stared at Jagger and Cora with a somewhat eerie look.
Cora was not willing to leave just like that. She hadn't even seen Stella yet, and she was in no mood to listen to Morris.
She marched forward alone, wielding a cane.
She looked quite aggressive and did not pay any attention to Morris.
Morris, however, was not in a hurry.
He exuded a chilling aura. When Cora was less than two meters away from the entrance of the Dark Web Division, he fiercely threw a Swiss Army knife from his hand.
The knife was small but fast and powerful. It struck the cane in Cora's hand. Instantly, the originally shiny and resilient special material cane broke in half. Without the support of the cane, Cora almost fell.
After she steadied herself, Jagger quickly ran up to her side and stood beside her, calling out "Morris!" in a voice that was almost gritted through his teeth.
Morris curled his lips coldly. "I'm sure Mr. Walton just witnessed my move. Let me give you some advice: at your age, don't meddle too much, or you might find yourselves in trouble too!"
Jagger seemed to be contemplating something after hearing this. "Alright, you win! We'll withdraw first and go to Tristan."
"Honey, but-"
"Enough. Let's go!" Cora wanted to say something more but was cut off by Jagger.
Within less than five minutes, everyone who had been making a fuss earlier had retreated.
Morris stood there calmly, watching as everyone left.noveldrama
Once they were all gone, Leo approached Morris and asked, "Sir, what do we do next?"
Morris narrowed his eyes. "Let Hugh return from the outskirts. Maintain high alert. Judging by the current situation, it will be just a few days. Tell Hugh to allocate more people to protect Cherise!"
"Yes, sir!"

On the lake island, Carson was playing Go by himself.
White stones fell, and black stones countered.
Eugene stood beside him and, after a moment of thought, spoke up, "Master, you've been staring at this game of Go for over three hours since this morning. Usually, you wrap it up in about an hour, don't you?"
Carson, holding a white stone between his fingers, placed it steadily on the board and then looked up at Eugene. "What do you think of the weather or the celestial signs these past two days?"
Eugene looked up at the sky and said, "It's quite nice, with a clear blue sky that looks very comfortable.
"As for the celestial signs, the calm weather seems to be a good omen. But the weather is a bit hot. Once autumn sets in a few days, it probably won't be this hot anymore."
Carson chuckled. "Not quite! That's just the surface. With the clear sky but the oppressive heat, it's likely that rain is on the way.
"The calm weather is actually brewing a storm. There's no escaping it!"
Eugene understood the first part but was puzzled by the last sentence. "Master,
I'm not as clever as Cherise. I understand what you said earlier, but what do you mean by "There's no escaping it?"
What do you think?
