Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 720

Chapter 720:

Once outside, Kellan issued orders to his men, increasing the amount of explosives they were transporting by nearly three times. Even though he knew Allison was playing her own game, his intent to kill Verruckt was unwavering.

Meanwhile, Verruckt had already arrived at the container warehouse area, stepping into the inky blackness of the space with quiet confidence. He walked alone, unaware that Allison was hidden nearby, watching him closely.

“You’ve been following me this whole time. It’s time for you to reveal yourself,” Verruckt said, his voice slicing through the silence like a knife. His words were chilling, laced with an icy tone that made the air around him feel even colder.

Verruckt had come here with one goal in mind: to find the one-eyed man, Yashiro. Instead, he was greeted by a few unwanted guests—members of the mafia—emerging from the shadows like a pack of predators.

“Mr. Shaw, you’re as sharp as ever,” the mafia leader sneered, a mocking smile on his lips. The mafia surrounded him, armed and ready, their eyes fixed on him as if he were the prey.

“I didn’t think you’d have the guts to show up here alone,” the leader taunted, his voice dripping with derision. But Verruckt didn’t regard them as a threat.

He studied them, his gaze calm but calculating, completely unshaken by their presence. He glanced around, looking for Yashiro, but the man was nowhere to be found. He raised an eyebrow, his expression indifferent, and asked, “Where’s Yashiro?”

“Where’s Yashiro?” The mafia members exchanged uncomfortable glances. They had no idea where he was either, and they weren’t about to admit it. Earlier, they had cursed him out when they couldn’t reach him, but now they kept their frustration hidden.

“Mr. Shaw, rather than worrying about others, maybe you should focus on how you’re going to survive,” the leader said, his voice turning condescending.

The mafia slowly closed in, their weapons glinting in the dark. They had clearly prepared to take Verruckt down.

From her vantage point, hidden in the shadows, Allison could feel the tension building between the two sides. It was as if the air itself was about to snap.

Verruckt’s hair stirred in the breeze, the only sign of movement in the otherwise still night.

“I heard the fire on the Burned Islands wiped out most of the mafia, but I guess some of you managed to slip through the cracks,” he said, his voice carrying a hint of disappointment.

He glanced around again, and a trace of disappointment crossed his features. Yashiro wasn’t here, which meant his plans were on hold, for now.

He had come to settle a score, and maybe see Alice, but it seemed like that would have to wait until he dealt with the fools in front of him.
